Evander Holyfield - Is an American former professional boxer who competed between 1984 and 2011. He reigned as the undisputed champion at Cruiserweight in the late 1980s and at Heavyweight in the early 1990s and is the only boxer in history to win the undisputed championship in two weight classes in the three belt era. Nicknamed "the Real Deal", Holyfield is the only four-time world Heavyweight champion, having held the unified WBA, WBC, and IBF titles from 1990 to 1992, the WBA and IBF titles again from 1993 to 1994, the WBA title a third time from 1996 to 1999; the IBF title a third time from 1997 to 1999 and the WBA title for a fourth time from 2000 to 2001. Holyfield retired in 2014 and is ranked number 77 on The Ring's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. In 2002 named him the 22nd greatest fighter of the past 80 years.

I think Holyfield is the GOAT personally. The dude fought everyone. He even fought Foremen, not even Iron Mike dared to do that. One of the greatest ever, one of the most underrated champs ever. Deserves more credit for sure.

Fair enough. For me, the greatest parts of his career were leading up to his going up to the heavyweight division. Late 80's. He definitely got bigger, I can't deny that. But, you appear to know more about that than I do, honestly.

Ali was great but he wasn't fighting guys like bowe Lewis Tyson and Mercer, Marciano only fought like 4 credible opponents and they were all passed their prime. And Michael Spinx never even fought at cruiser. It didn't come till the 80s when he already was at heavyweight. Evander fought everybody and is the only 4x heavyweight champion. And he's rightfully 5x and oldest heavyweight champion ever but they robbed him in Russia. Learn something about the sport of boxing before just commenting dumb shit lol

Talk about a real Champion. He has to be the sharpest heavy weight ever. Great counter puncher inside. Holyfield had a heart of gold and he is so fundamentally sound. Exactly like Marvin Hagler busy bouncing, fainting,moving in and out punching etc. Great offense and defensive skills. Two very good jabs!

Holyfield-Qawi I all over again. Instant trilogy. The difference is they would like each other. Fistic, savage love fest. They’d beat each other to the pulp, but walk away with little bad blood. I remember when I was a young lion, I used to despise Holyfield because of my admiration for Tyson, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to honor and respect the unmatched courage and might of this man. As the great Roy Jones not too long ago once said and I’m paraphrasing, “Evander can beat ANYBODY if they don’t take him serious” and that is a fact. He is the one fighter that u MUST fight at 100% or he will beat u no matter who u think u are or how good u believe u are. Fighters nowadays, no matter there discipline, do not have the heart of fighters like Holyfield. Too scared, too brittle, and too flashy.

Holyfield biggest strength was his toughness, so he could face brawlers and give them back, but whenever he faced someone who would boxe he struggled. He was more of a warrior in the ring than a technician.

I loved his left uppercut, don't know why he abandoned it later in his carrer.In my eyes he also started to throw wider punches, when earlier he used to throw nice and accurate punches, especially his long left straight.

Peak tyson vs holyfield, i think holyfield still may have had his number. Holyfield could fight mid range and inside like a motherfucker, possessed good hand speed, a chin made of iron, and accuracy and crispness like a god, along with a great jab. Post prison or not holy is a nightmare for tyson. The same goes for ali, ali would have struggled against holyfields greater power and mid range crispness. Holyfield is vastly underrated, and when at his best he really only struggled against bigs guys because while he could fight well on the inside, his lack of head movement made it hard for him to get in range. A true top 10 heavy.

Name a boxer with a nickname more relevant to how they acted in the ring than Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield. The man was the real deal and would always bring the real deal, win or lose. Absolutely incredible fighter.
