I think she struggles with MHIB the most out of the new songs they're performing so far. This is the best performance of it that I've seen so far tbh. I think part of the problem with Amy is that she likes to belt out her voice when it's not always necessary. She does beautiful acoustic performances though.
HAAHAHA she's great Love her sense of humor. amazingly done i love watching her live performances cause she actually sings and expresses herself with so much movement to carry on with the song :D AMY ROCKSSSss!!!!!! "I WILL WANDER TILL THE END OF TIME TORN AWAY FROM YOU...."
Holy shit, she really worked on her live vocals! I've never heard her sound this good live, even from the Fallen era. I seriously thought someone else was singing at first. Way to go Amy!!
better than in rio. it makes me feel better :D thank god!! she still has an amazing voice. I want to listen to it like 2 months from now because with time she gets better at it so it should be even better :D Can't wait!! Evanescence
Exactly! Ive been singing since I was about 4. So I know how to build my vocal endurance and how to keep my voice in shape and all that, but after the first few songs, I can already feel my voice getting a bit tired. I can usually push through it, but by no means is it easy. These songs are very vocally challenging, even for people who KNOW what they're doing, like Amy.
@MizuMeow Good point, I'd love to hear erase this live! This song is just so high and fast, the phrases are long and powerful and you have almost no time to recover... And concerning her technique, yeah...she "pushed through the pain" xD No really, she's got a beautiful voice and when she's got the time and is calm she can sing more well, like in the AOL acoustic sessions for example. But live, with all the guitars and the sweat and jumping, yeah...hard stuff. So altogether, sadly: Agreed!
Gotta love Amy.....she's not like most celebrities and lets fame go to her head, she is just herself and screws up like the rest of us ;) What a comical girl :D
Hey to all you playback fan lovers, singing live is on another level Be glad, that you still have bands that actually prefer do it live than playbacking where every wannabe artist *cough* bieber, kesha etc etc *cough* does it. Saddest thing, is everyone prefer going to a concert where playback rules instead of watching a live show.
Amy still rock after all those years, some people might say everything they would want her songs are tough to sing, they have a lot of high vocals , sustaining them for as long as her would be too hard for everyone.
You know, there's simply no way to compare Evanescence to other groups in today's music industry. They are one of the few groups that actually sound good live. Unlike pretty much every other group in this age who auto-tunes their albums and sound GOD AWFUL live. I love this group. Always.
Love her so much. She is so beautiful. I am obsessed with Evanescence and Amy Lee's style. I love to sing and I have heard her say she does too. Its awesome knowing her loves music as much as I do. I Sing lots of her songs on Karaoke. And I can sing good. I shocked lots of my friend's when I started singing her songs on Karaoke. Cause I can sing anything and they never knew I could sing rock music lol. I have videos of me singing on my channel. Please go check them out if you like and tell me how you think I did. No one like Amy though when it comes to rocking out.
Actually here's the thing. She songs the song GREAT for having her focus on the piano. I learned the intro by ear and the verse, and I can personally say that trying to focus on getting the piano right, then trying to sing is WAY difficult. Then add to that that she's sitting down and you get this. I really think she did way good on this one, better than most of them. I think the only way it could would get better is if the piano was on playback instead of her doing it live.
Don't understand where the complaints are coming from,...The difference between this and the album recording is minimal. I can count on one hand how many singers I know that can do that.
to all those saying she's sang terribly in this song FYI playing piano and singing at the same time is hard especially to this song in chorus she's tyring to hit the right notes and take note she takes sit while singing this live..
@imaginarylies I honestly think that they should've chosen Oceans as the next single. I mean, after watching the What You Want music video and them going into the ocean at the end, I felt that it'd be cool to see the video that could continue the story and Oceans would be the song to deliver that video.
In my modest opinion, I think everyone should take a look at themselves before saying anything.I don't care if she was sick, drunk,if she can or can't sing,If she needs voice lessons,If she's blonde or brunette.I appreciate HER and HER music as much as I can and stop. She's not a robot. The best thing you can learn is that If you can't change someone ,you better accept him/her for who is he/she. Bye,an "Ass-kissing".
I don't understand why people are saying she did this song better in Rio... She did it wayyy better here. Plus all Ev songs are hard to sing, and she said she REALLY pushed herself on the vocals in the new album. She's doing her best, and it's beautiful :D
I actually love the fact that her voice sounds a little raspy i can imagine this is a challenging song to sing live. but her voice sounds more emotional live
Amy rocks!! Come on guys she is not bad. Plus give her alittle break cause they just came back from a 5 yr break. Her voice might sound alittle different, but she still has great vocals. Everyones voice changes, especially after 5 yrs and when you age when your getting older. Evanescence still rocks!!
I love how people are posting things like "I love her but this was bad." or "Shes starting to sound bad." You'd think that you'd understand that these songs are REALLY challenging to sing, especially when you're doing them night after night for hours. Id love to see any of you try to maintain your vocals through just two of these songs LIVE. Also, ITS BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE FALLEN, PEOPLE! Her voice is obviously not going to sound like it did when she was 19 years old. Get over it.
@CloisFever There CHANCE there is a 3D video coming out of their live performance 2012 Arkansas,..She even showed a clip on her twitter page on the making of it.
