How good is the 10 year old E91 325d as a daily, on track? My car has a few modifications - making it one heck of a fast and efficient daily. Visit our shop! www.heelandtoe...
My cousin owns a 325d and when i drove in it with him ive never been in a diesel car since my parents usually had petrol cars (non sporty cars also) but jezz the tourqe in the bmw, even though im more of an Audi fan Bmw also has a special place for me but thats mainly because my cousins owns a e30, e36 and e91 so i get to visit his workshop sometimes and i just see them chilling such beautiful cars that bmw made
Ja!
I clearly remember you coming through Brünchen. We were sitting there for just half an hour. Remember talking then about your commitment in the second kink uphill where the rear stepped out. Was a great sight from the parking area there. All others were not so much on the edge. What a coincidence to see your video uploaded!
Was there for the first time this year aswell today, saw a lot of close calls and people just over-doing the track. It's obvious we all were very Nürburgring-deprived if you will. Cool lap
They make even better cars today. But it takes 10 years for people to realize it again. When E90 was new people whined how it sucked and E46 was better. Now people whine about the new 3 series and how E90 was better. Some people just always live 10 years in the past.
@@derbigpr500 I'm agree...... The people always looking for a solid car can handle everything day driving with less problems , but now unfortunately they make a cheap cars with cheap materials , and old cars are so solid with better materials , I had read an article about that , they said that we can make from one old car can make 3 cars now . Buy when we talk about safety and security we gonna find the new ones better than the old ones a lot .
BeyerT1 no, the F30 isn’t really enjoyable. Aside from being bigger and having a gimmicky interior, the steering feel took a tremendous downgrade. It doesn’t really have the character of any generation before it
Would be cool if you make a video with tips how to faster cornering and safe driving in the roads. I had an emergency lately and had to drive fast and honestly i would attend driving courses if we had. How you learn to feel the limits of the car . It may sound strange, but this is life, everything happens.
I'm concerned isn't it a problem showing the QR code of your account on touristenfahren? Some of guys on youtube were blurring them out as someone can use it by screenshot or whatever but i believe the resolution is not big enough to do it.
@@heelandtoe_ seems awesome! Good luck with your project, I'll follow you. Right now I'm too young for that stuff, I would love to buy it when I'll have a family. I love the idea of being the fastest dad around 😂 So far, I'm saving for a Clio Rs 182 💪
Amazing video ! Great commentary! But question. I have both a 96 328i coupe (USDM) and a 06 E90 330i manual transmission . I think i need to sell one and keep one. This video is making a strong case to keep my 330i !! In US a 6 speed 330i is pretty rare.
@@quest8795 this is even a mild tune if it's the n57 3.0 diesel, same engine like the 330d. The ZF6 steptronic easily goes 300+hp 700+Nm. Stock the n57 325d is 204hp/430Nm, same engine and hardware as the n57 330d 245hp/540Nm.. so super tunable
Oh man, i have the same car, and i just love it! Before i had a Bmw F10 and it was great but boring. And before that i had a Seat Leon Cupra Performance, it was awesome car, but i still prefer the Bmw 325d 😅
Hi mate! I was wondering what coilers you were running? Currently on a budget and since I do need to replace shocks thought I might as well change them to coilers instead. Thanks in advance!
Nice video 🤙🏻 Would u buy the suspension again? I’m also looking for one for my daily (E91)... Because from the price perspective the „ST“ suspension seems to be interesting :) Greetings ✌🏻
be careful with n47 2.0d(177hp), better go with m47 163hp and tune it, or even better buy 325d or 330d, but if you want auto, 330d has stronger gearbox than 325d.
The ATE brake pads are rubbish. Exchange them for something decent. :-) How did you mount the brake caliper? I have a set of the M235i at home for the 340 mm discs (should be the same) and my brake disc wouldn't be exactly in the middle? What are the dimensions of the brake discs you use?
He said he turned DSC off, and didn't mention any kind of LSD, so I'd assume it's still standard. I don't think it's an M sport with LSD either, so it's gotta be an open diff 😳
Honest question, how much do your brakes fade? I drive a E81 118i and I'm thinking about doing a Lap on the Nordschleife next month or so (gotta see what Corona does to us), i've never driven the track myself apart from basically every racing simulator out there. I know the track bit for bit with my eyes closed but i know real life and a game ain't the same, so i'll take it really really slow my first time around (love my car and money too much for showing off). I just wanna know how much it actually "hurts" a bone stock car. Don't feel like replacing my brand new brake pads already.
I've got a 120d and I've never had an issue with brakes. They're either brembo or pagid OEM pads, and although they're standard street pads, never had any kind of fade. I think his brakes were beginning to fade due to the extra weight of the E91 compared to the 1 series, but the brakes themselves are very similar.
If you take it easy i’m sure you’ll be fine. Once you start pushing a bit you’ll notice a bit of fading. I’d highly recommend Steel braided lines and different fluid. That already makes a big difference.
1 important Tipp for break temperature: Break hard and short. When i´ve beginnend driving on the ring, I was breaking too slow and long. If you do this, your breaks will be very hot and you will get a soft pedal feeling, if you have no steeflex. And Its no hate for the 325ci driver, but you see in the video that he breaks too long and breaks in the curves. This makes your car very unstable. Feel free to ask, if you have any questions. I try to answer with my worse english :-) Wish you a lot of fun at the ring. The first lap is magic ;-)
Why not put the accident on film? Is that not part of a real world? Do we only need rainbows and sunshines? No, people drive straight into a wall sometimes. Time to accept shit happens
I've had my e91 330d a month. M57, manual, SE, standard with the exception of Eibach pro springs and a Pipercross filter. No bells or whistles whatsoever, and I like that. Never fails to put a smile in my face. More than useable power on British roads, absurdly economical when driving reservedly (family in car only TBH) and never once have I felt like I'm driving a wagon. I don't think I'll ever let go of it. I have a suspicion this "daily" will one day be my toy, having totally Trigger's broom'd her.
Two years on.. 600+nm, 335d brakes, Rota Grids with Proxes, Bilstein B4s up front, new sport dampers on rear, Meyle strut mounts, poly bushed front arms, all new turbo and intercooler piping, all new vacuum hoses, EGR and swirl delete, intake cleaned/gasket kit, new glow plugs, breather.. Next... Downpipe, poly bushed rear, underside scrubbed out treated and sealed... And I've got it in my head that I wanna open up the air intake with some sort of heat shield etc.. I want the thing to sound like a fkn Dakar truck.
Loved this video! Its great that you can just take your daily diesel touring for a lap of the ring with all your stuff in the back too! I agree with you, this is such a great era of BMW. Keep it up man 👍
3 years later you’re in the recommend videos prepare for lift off😅still got the car? Must be amazing to live there and be able to do a lap after work, wish the uk had something similar. I’m there again in next couple of weeks finally again always feels like years in between seasons!
Lovely video!!! Glad to hear your comments while driving so nice and smooth. As a youtube car guy enjoyed it very much. As a driver absolutely LOVED IT! Many thanks!!!
I try to powerslide my E91 335i every once in a while but it always feels so unstable. Seeing you whip it around like that raises some questions for me. Did you upgrade a LSD?
@@klemen2987mine is not lsd so i cant do this in the video with 250hp, i guess he has lsd actually, i can however drift still even without lsd but when the diff gets hot it wont work anymore
@@heelandtoe_ the N57D30UL wasn't made to take more power. The x35d maybe but not yours. It simply cannot cope with the excess heat. What is now going to happen is you're gonna melt your injector into your cylinder head and damage your pistons. I am not making this up. Saw this a couple of times. A BMW engineer that filed and holds patents for this particular engine wrote an open letter about chip tuning and why it isn't a good idea. Go and Google it.
@@heelandtoe_ the thing is I am not trying to offend or critisize you. I am trying to prevent you from seizing your engine. This shit can cost a fortune. I have scrolled thru the net looking for that letter written by that bmw engineer, but make sure to find an unedited version of it. Since it came out a few years ago there have been edits and cuts. Find the raw version. Also will look for pictures we took of damaged x25d engines that were chip tuned. It's been some time, hopefully I'll find them.
