I can't believe this is already 15 years old. I used to watch these videos with my friend in primary school trying to aspire to be as good as these people. Never quite made it, but I did learn some video editing after being mesmerized by the production value of that time. Insane nostalgic feeling watching this again. And it hits different watching this on a song ericsson K770i phone than on modern day smartphones lmao

There should be a notification in the video that there is a higher quality version. If not you can also find the higher quality version in the description. I don't know why but RU-vid stripped this upload of it's higher quality.

This is by far the most excellent movie I have ever seen related to Quake games, frags, jumping whatsoever! I have been playing Quake games since for like seven years, and I have seen my share, but this precision, timing and tricks that are done here are completely amazing. :) All my respect to you, guys! :D keep it up!

i never played defrag or cpma.. more of a quake live player, but i do tricking. i watched so many tricking vids so many times i wasnt easily impressed but ive never seen team tricking before. blew my goddamn mind!

I'm pretty sure he aint spectating in real time, but rather watching recorded demos of the players doing the tricks. And then he's using some kind of demo watching program that let's him "free float" around the player while cg_thirdperson is set to 1. The program then changes how far away and at what angle he's looking at the player. Making the impression that he's free floating. He could of course be free floating but it'd take crazy skill and steady hands, so I'm going with my first theory

I'm losing my mind when I hear the credits music. I'm not a techno fan, but this track is a huge masterpiece, it sounds like a hymn for the Loveparade. Too bad it ends so early. The video is awesome, I have the 500MB version.

Yo man...first of all 5/5. SEcond, you dont EVEN realize how much this brings me back to Q3, and honestly if i were to show to someone else where alot of the Q3 fun is at and about, i couldent have had a better movie than yours to show them. This is honestly the sickest...I MEAN DAMN MAN LOl!!! Absolute GREAT work with Vegas Pro, some of the sickest teamwork ive seen FOR ANY GAME, and ...nothing better than sweet music to fit alongside the effects you used in the vid itself :). Well done.

i cant strafe jump for shit, i dont know why, ive tried and tried for years. im just glad i own with the rail gun. and my rocket jumping isnt bad. thats why i never defragged. the best thing ive done similar to it is completing the rocket traing on quake live, including the bonus level :) this is amazing btw

@JustinSanchez Oh im not saying that i dont believe that what u do isnt possible because ive played the game alot but i would have to see it in person to be 100% believer because i know there are some shots there that you either needed battle armor or god mode to complete cause lots of rail shots and plasma and rockets that would kill someone easily

Im a huge fan of Q3 and i played it for years and i will admit thats a sick vid but i can honestly say im not impressed until i see it for myself because with quake 3 u can change in game physics at will and all the slowmo with camera and stuff can hide that but i will say that i dont doubt some of those are possible

OK OK..That was an absolutely great Trick Jumping video.But dam here I am STRUGGLING to get my ass up a 2-3 meter walls with a plasma gun and you guys are flying all over the place lookin all stylish and elite...DAM you guys are really good-SERIOUSLY...6/5..I DEFINITELY HAVE A LOT of PRACTISING TO DO..OMG..By the way I love the maps..can sum1 post me a list of them plzzzz....

Dude, ignore all of the negative comments about this video mate. Ive been tricking since quake 2, and I can tell you what you guys have done is paramount to pure perfection. The timing needed for these jumps is unmeasureable. Unless someone can show their skills compared to this crew... keep your mouth shut. Respect *nods*

This stuff was REALLY cool, once the unconscionably long credits were over. It was 2:23 into the video before anything started! I almost quit watching just because I was getting so pissed with how long it was till something acutally happened. But the team tricks really are quite amazing.

As far as machinima goes this is rather basic. Most current made machinima is actually a step backwards in machinima design. Look at some of the Quake 1 machinima to see what I mean. Red VS Blue for instance is hardly machinima.

Honestly this makes me want to do this on Quake Live, but sadly I can't find any real maps meant for stuff like this. They're all closed in and meant for combat. Wondering if I should get Quake 4. Anyway, this is really cool.

and the reason why old q3 players dont like it as much as q3 is exactly explained in this video. things like this are not possible in quake live. not a bit... mainly because no mapping and no modding. no defrag...

This is full of maps and mods that they've created to run faster than rockets, remove splash damage from rockets, and 'double jump' similar to that in Unreal Tournament 3... combined with their skill - pwnsome

This is simply the best q3a trick jump movie out there imo. I even prefer it to the third one for some reason. Maybe it's just the cam/perspective but the tricks seem clearer somehow. Great job guys.

no it isnt, but the physics give you so much possibilities to do trickjumping that there is a modification just for trickjumping mod and a giant community of trickjumpers

The part at 10:33 looks like it's not vanilla q3, it seems like it's low gravity. Maybe that's just the map, or maybe I'm wrong.
