Every fifteen years there is an event called "Day of Reckoning" during which a horde of evil creatures takes over Earth to eat humans for the duration of an eclipse. Subscribe to our second channel: tinyurl.com/Movie-Recaps
So they had fifteen years to prepare, and they knew where the monsters came from, and they knew that salt disintegrated the monsters, and they still had problems.
No idiot. This is the second time the monsters have ever shown up which means there’s no way to know they would’ve come back 15 years after the original time
Also not having enough budget for CGI creator, @ 4:14 top right monster's right leg sunk into the wall but the monster kept going with it. 😂 I could've done a better CGI. 🤣
I feel like we have been stuck in a loop for decades where writers can only think of the same type of protagonists in their movies. Divorced couples, either the man gets a new wife that will die halfway through the movie so that he can go back to his ex. Or the woman gets a new husband that will get killed halfway through the movie so she can go back to her ex. Oh and teenagers that do stupid things. 95% of end-of-the-world type scenarios have literally that as main characters.
"mom/dad I know we are going to die if we don't get in/on the government created safe thing (that for some reason doesn't have enough capacity), but my high school girlfriend who I've been dating for 6 months is scared and needs me to hug her."
And salt water sprayers around the shelters for extra protection. Not to mention that inland shelters would have plenty of salt ready to be spread around and dusted into the air.
@@secondchance5080 it isnt up to the viewer to suspend disbelief when it comes to human logic, especially if the movie is about humans making decisions to survive. If writers want to make a good movie, it is up to them to make a believable conflict that isnt solved with immediate common sense survival, otherwise it is just a bad story that takes away from the immersion that a viewer should feel when watching a movie.
@@dailygamer-co3nf Dude, you can't curb your appetite to survive being ripped apart for 24 hrs? I openly admit I'm fat and I could stop eating for that long. LMFAO
@@magpiefrogfrom2556 They should had started like a year earlier. Not like when monsters are already coming out 🙄 This is just a movie but still so annoying 😄
You would think that they would have made submersible shelters under the ocean. If this was real, I would definitely invest in building a shelter under the ocean. It wouldn't have to be super fancy, or that deep. There's an underwater motel that you can stay at IRL.
You would think they would cover shelters underground with an extra wall filled with salt and salt water sprinklers in most buildings around the city. Literally would have saved millions.
I can only assume it may be similar in the US, but in Germany we have companies that accept as many Gov contracts as they can, put up all the safety equipment like pylons etc. and then dont bother about the construction site anymore, as per Gov contracts the jobs dont have to be finished as soon as possible, they only have to be finished until a certain date. So if companies know they need 1 year for a job but they got a 3 year timeframe, they will accept the contract and then first finish other jobs and treat the Gov contract like a side-hustle
I used to think like you till I found love and lost it. When all that you love dies/leaves your family or whats left of it and your spouse and your child then your whole world does too. I have no family and no friends
Agreed. Good editors and narrators can make even bad movies into great short videos. I can't tell you how much time I've saved by NOT watching hundreds of bad movies or series.
If they had 15 years to prepare for the next monster attack and were still defeated I doubt Humanity is surviving the next attack when there's even fewer people/civilisation left
Isn't it counterintuitive to leave cities if the monsters are everywhere at once. Unless one is going off to hide in a hole, there is strength in numbers to fight back in cities. Cities are still notoriously hard to take for an enemy without taking in high casualties.
It’s such a human things to live on a planet that’s almost 97% salt water, have 15 years to prepare, while knowing EXACTLY where the monsters will come from and still not be ready 😂😅🤦🏾♀️
Bless you, there's a lot of good movies on your recaps that I've forgotten and rediscovered but EXTRA bless and thank you for these recap'd terribad movies that always make me feel filthy and unsatisfied after sinking 2 hours to watch them but gosh do I wanna see how they turn out, so your channel and 12 mins each is just about perfect
The writers seem to be utterly unaware that an eclipse is a localized event and not everywhere at once. That would be a pretty random moment for anyone not in ... say ... America.
If the eclipse is actually of a vengeful God, maybe He moved a celestial object between the Sun and Earth, casting half the planet into darkness while the other half was experiencing natural night? But would the Moon’s (reflected) light not also persist?
@@iwouldntlikemeeither Every nation around the world makes movies like that. You just dont watch them because they're trash so you can only talk about American movies. (Or worse, you maybe watch SK movies and are lying just to sound justified.)
So, they had 15 years to dig a moat that's pumped full of sea water around the holes and to build a roof, that's been lined with salt, over them. They could have easily demon proofed the world, but chose not to.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 exactly! goood point!! or i was thinking, what about covering the hole in a pool of saltwater or just putting an enormous pile of salt over the gate
Considering the local duration of a solar eclipse is only seconds to a few minutes and only a tiny part (much less than 1%) of the planet is actually in the shadow at any one time... it shouldn't really be that difficult :D
Wait so all they have to do is jump into the ocean for protection, or load up their water guns, waterballs. wait that mean all buildings with sprinklers can be a safespace as long as you add salt to the water.
You would think that during the 15 heat lull that they would have sealed those gates and developed weapons that discharge salt water. But no, they make an alert system and shelters with no salt water defense systems. They just run and hide and die.
It looks like the same kind of people from the Purge movies are in this one. They know it's coming, they can prepare, they have time but they wait until it's basically too late.
@@Happyfoam-lw3yt *sigh* They did not. It was just one the them, the one who had his fingers cut off. He didn't even fight back when attacked with baseball bat. And he cured the child.
@@AwelbeckkDid you even watch the film?! There was an invasion, but we only see it from one family's perspective. WTAF?!? 🤦♀️🤣 The news and characters clearly talk about these things showing up around the planet... 🤦♀️🤷♀️
@@Squawking_Squatcher The news told that ? And we all know news are never wrong, right ... but did you see the attacks ? Could it be the journalust were panicking. To be clear, news said there was a dangerous monster in brazil. Then show images of a naked alien walking a street. How was it dangerous ? How can you trust those news. Again, show me ONE irrefutable act of evil the alien does in the movie.
so they prevent Stella from suiciding, but let her get eaten by monsters instead, like immediately. among a million dumb things in this movie to point out, guess i pick that one.
So if salt kills the monsters why not just hand out Bug-Assault Rifles to everyone? And like....it looks like humans build and maintain the portals so like...instead of that why not seal them? Or have a saltwater sprinkler over them when the judgement comes to kill as many as possible and thin their number?
Ted could have pulled the fire alarm, as soon as he was told to do so, but nah. Grandpa had to pretend he is Kratos and try to fight demons with an axe first.
Hello, I think what would be a more interesting movie is the prequel to this, the first time these creatures appeared and the information that came out after! The people who survived, how did they do that? What was the talk on the news? What did the scientists know and what is the theory as to where these monsters are coming from and why? With good writers, director actors in a budget, this could be really really good.
Why didn’t mankind make under sea water shelters, unless the sea had “the wrong kind of Salt” as in the story, some monsters didn’t die with salt thrown at them and heat majority of the monsters died with the other salt? WTH?
So they have 15years to prepare? In real life every house would have a full blown unbreachable bunker with foods and all necessities. Every sprinkler in the lawns would blast salt water and people be chilin until their alarms go off signalling the end of the eclipse.
15 yrs. Enuf to rebuild the whole city but not enuf to make a basement bunker specifically the occasion. Every family should have one instead of everyone sharing
Should have install gates made with the strongest metal to seal up the gate holes so that the creatures can't come out. They could have built the shelters near coastal areas and utilized the seawater to their advantage. Shelters could have been equipped with some type of salt water spray/hose system to keep the creatures away from the shelters.
@@dmy_tromen seem to like it that way since they’re the ones who created and keep enforcing that concept, and starting wars and most major emergencies
@@kissit012.. because we men understand that women need to be saved and cannot help themselves in times of dire need or serious emergencies, and that men are more level-headed during emergencies whereas women are often more emotional under stress and situational pressure. What a disgusting comment of yours; obviously men start wars, but to posit that men “start most major emergencies” is so blatantly ignorant I almost envy what it’s like to post a comment so confidently stupid.
That sounds like something a popular earth god would do. Magic heart attacks? Nah. If it really was about population: Make people less horny? Nope. Make the ground more fertile? Unh-uh. Slaughter? YES, PLEASE!
Even the recap was annoying. This felt like 2012 but with monsters. No main characters die, family is happily together in the end. "How much do you want to copy 2012?" "Yes!"
God releases millions of murderous creatures... I mean if he can just snap his fingers and all the very bad people die first, go to hell etc, next batch just bad and whoever is innocent just goes to heaven and so on.... I mean, summoning murderous creatures to just kill randomly isn't something a good god would do but more a devil thing, that makes more sense. No, I'm not religious.
If you check out the book of revelations, supposedly the end of days will release demons to kill 1/3rd of earth along with fire from the sky in a 7 year war between good and evil spirits. But I think that's supposed to be after a rapture, so the innocents wouldn't witness it. But apparently the biblical flooding was from women sleeping with fallen angels who's offspring became nephilim (giants), so God just purged the whole planet, with very few survivors. Religious texts go hard 😅
They all use guns instead of salt I would of put 100 salt cannons at the entrance first of all second make a bunker under the sea third Use water guns bro lol
