Armaggeddon has such a special place in my heart. Jeff Hardy winning the world championship is one of the best underdog winning moments in WWE up to date.

Chris Jericho’s character from 2008-10 was truly must see entertaining. One of the MVPs of WWE during this time. From epic World Heavyweight Championship rivalry with HBK to epic Intercontinental Championship rivalry with Rey Mysterio to memorable Tag Team Champions as a part of JeriShow to pretty good World Championship rivalry with Edge. Definitely worth a rewatch!

Underrated year. Has two of my favorite rivalries in Edge/Taker and HBK/Jericho.

Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels was one of the best storyline of 2008

Arguably WWE's last truly great year. They've had some good ones since, 2012 and 2015 come to mind. However, 2008 is the last year most of the top feuds and storylines were pretty solid throughout.

Ric Flair's retirement match is my favorite WrestleMania match ever, and the reason is it was a match my grandmother and I watched before she passed away. My grandmother LOVED wrestling, and loved/hated Ric Flair. She was actually in the building when Flair beat Harley Race, and hated him so fucking much when he turned on Dusty. When we watched his retirement, my grandmother who was recovering from a round of chemo got so fired up and emotional she just... idk it just left me where that match is so emotional and powerful with that context I remember every beat of that match and try to watch it at least once a year. I'm getting teary just thinking about it, i love wrestling so much and i always will cause when everything is on with wrestling idk anything that can touch me the way wrestling can.

2007 is when I got into wrestling, I use to get the WWE magazine and I have all the in-magazine posters for these PPVs. This was a lovely nostalgia trip.

The 2008 roster was STACKED

It was my first year of watching WWE and have been a fan ever since. Although I enjoyed then a lot more than I enjoy it now maybe because of the internet where everyone is more concerned with the booking or critiquing everything than enjoying the show. Would love to go back to those simpler times

2008 was probably my favourite wrestling year in WWE RAW ECW & SmackDown where great On RAW we had the great Jericho vs HBK rivalry and the Cena vs Batista feud. Punk winning the world heavyweight championship was a great moment after his excellent work as ECW world champion it felt like the right time to pull the trigger on him On WWE ECW Mark Henry got to be a dominant world champion a sample of his hall of pain run to come and Matt Hardy carried WWE ECW as it world champ in 2008 putting on great matches on a consistent basis. The dirt sheet with Miz & Morrision was wonderful and ahead of its time On SD we saw the conclusion of the excellent US title feud between MVP & Matt Hardy. Edge was the ultimate bastard at time with the SD GM in his pocket. Triple H had a solid baby face run as WWE champion and who can forget the rise of Jeff Hardy to the WWE championship. Honestly this was WWE at its best there where a few good years afterward but 2008 was truly WWE last great year

2008 was my favorite year in WWE. Cena winning Royal Rumble, Edge and Taker's rivalry, Flair's retirement, HBK and Y2J's rivalry, and the highlight career of Jeff Hardy.

2008 was the last year in WWE where the good outweighed the bad for me.

Edge was easily the MVP of the year. Main-evented 3 of the 4 big Four PPVs, top-notch storylines and simply couldn't have a bad match.

Gosh dang it man this was my favorite year of wrestling and I have been a fan since 2002 which is my second favorite. Wrestlemania 24 was the first mania I saw on ppv and it is still my favorite. Jericho vs HBK at no mercy is my favorite match ever. The slow burn of Jeff Hardy was nail biting and cathartic when the trigger was pulled. Just wow I love this year!

I started watching wrestling in 8th grade back in late 2007. I watched through 2010 ans fell off when I got bored of Super Cena. I kept an eye on the Summer of Punk and then left wrestling behind. But in 2016 when I heard AJ Styles went to WWE I came back again. But man 2017-2018 were rough years. 2019 was meh. 2020 started hot. 2021-2022 were rough too but once Triple H took over Ive been pretty satisfied. So far 2023 has been excellent

Jeff winning MITB would make a worse ending than what we got. His slow build up being made to look better and better was absolutely brilliant.

Just went back and watched No Mercy 2008, and holy crap it really was incredible, found myself getting angry over HHH rolling up Hardy to retain the WWE title even though I knew who won, the World Title ladder match between Y2J and HBK was amazing, and seeing Batista, JBL, The Big Show and The Undertaker in actual long-term storylines filled me with awesome nostalgia.

Underrated year in wrestling all around. TNA & ROH had strong years as well, at least in the ring. After Benoit in '07, WWE really bounced back in a huge way all year in '08.

The whole build was how Jeff couldnt grab the brass ring so have him grab the brass ring by beating trips. give him a couple month reign with the title and some good defenses against triple h and edge. You can keep the Matt jealous thing but it would more sense if he got jealous of Jeff getting so much more attention after a couple month wwe title reign compared to Matt’s like 6 month ecw title reign
