I take a look at every Batman Omnibus and Absolute Edition that DC has released to date. I included the Silver Age World’s Finest Omnibus and the Superman/Batman Absolutes.
This is awesome! Sad to see you didn’t show off that awesome Gotham Central Omnibus, but amazing quality and depth on these videos. Keep up the good work!!
Yeah I also noticed Gotham Central. I have this one but yet to read it. I hear that Batman only makes occasional appearances though and is more centred around the Gotham PD.
Thank you so much! I've been getting into DC lately but I'm not quite sure how to start in the comics; There are way too many timelines that I don't know anymore. I know for sure that I'm getting omnibuses because I'm not quite sure how I'd get every issue since my parents wouldn't allow me to go to any of the book stores 😅😥😣
Something I started doing was brodarting my dust jackets. It's when you use protective plastic to cover the dust jacket of your hardcover books. It makes them look even glossier and prettier and is certainly worth while and better protects your books.
my man actually reads them jawns. love this video. nice to see recaps of books ill never read but were curious about. Yo Gem, any omnibus out there that you DONT have but want?
I love this video, I'm a Batman fan, congrats on your entire collection, what on-line store(s) do you recommend to start purchasing all those Batman books?
Wondering why they dont have a Superman/Batman Omnibus? I thought that was a popular run? The Absolute editions look cool but an omnibus could give us the whole run
Awesome collection! I would suggest you, to recommend the best omnibus of each character here, and the end of your other videos as well! I only able to afford 1 omnibus, which one would you recommend? Appreciate it! Hats off! First videos, where someone shows all omnibuses!!! Instant subscribe👍🏻
These Absolute Editions are so magik! Finally got my hands on mister Millers DKIII chunk. It is massive. My favorite is Kingdom Come, it is just a piece of beauty. They should have made the pages gold cut...next to KC gomes the IMO natural counterweight to Ross' Omega Story, Absolute DC New Frontier. Greetings from over here, Vienna, Austria, somewhere in the woods of Europe... :-)
Those Batman Golden Years omnibus' look good. Some reviews I've read that the book itself starts to fall apart from the spine area. Have you noticed anything falling apart on your copies? Thanks.
Not such a big Batman fan but I really like Superman. The newer Batman stuff seems ok but the old stuff doesn't hold much appeal to me. But watched the whole video and it was cool. Thx much and have a great day. I am Batman. I do watch the CWTV show Gotham though and really like that but it can be a bit dark. I'm reading Enemies and Allies too which is a pretty good Superman and Batman Novel just about finished it. thx again.
Nice that the Batman Golden Age Omnibus Volume 5 will start to get into some of the unarchived material, just as Superman Volume 5(coming out next month) does.
For someone who's getting into the Batman graphic novel for the first time, which do you prefer/recommend? Absolute Batman: Court of Owls or Batman: Hush ?
Lol I laugh every time I see the knight fall story collected in its normal paperback format. It’s literally the exact same size, but because they aren’t hardcover they look like friggin phone books.
I am 35. I may have read comics as a kid. But, I just started to get into them. I got all the Nina Turtle sets that are out. I want to start the Batman series next month. Does one need both the silver and golden editions? If so, I suppose that you would start with the silver. haha I have had an idea for a comic of my own, for years. I decided to finally start writing it. I just got a Wacom Cintiq Pro 32. haha Makes doing the art fantastic. I feel, by reading a bunch of comics, it will help me get an idea of how to write my own. I am a collector of things. I have hundreds upon hundreds of movies, seasons, series sets, art, music and other things. So, why not add comics to the mix. haha
In Batman Hush I believe it is Jason Todd who comes back as the villan Hush and most of the story consists of the characters in Gotham is helping Batman figure that out.
Gem Mint Collectibles cool, I bought a couple volumes and noticed it on a few already, just wanted to make sure they hold up before investing in more. Thanks for the great content man, one of my fav channels!
Agree Court of Owls was a brilliant run. Even the premise was a great idea of the court existing throughout Gotham history. How do the golden age omnibus compare with the old hardback archive editions?
The Neal Adams stuff wasn't redrawn too much, but he recolored everything. In some places it wasn't too bad, but it looked really awkward seeing modern colors on silver age comics. I think he should have left them alone.
hi, how are you doing? i hope all is well. i have a question. I've been collecting omnibus for a while and have been screwed with sellers on ebay selling me 2nd printing omnibus when i thinking i am buy 1st print. is the a way i can tell if the omnibus is a 1st printer when it is still wrap in plastic. thanks
Bought my first comic the other day: an omnibus featured on your video. Thanks - I'm all in! Any other suggested Batman reading? Focusing on the Dark Knight for now. I don't know how to get new singles, for example. There aren't any stores in my area.
Hey so recently I have been wanting to get into dc comics as a whole. And I want to read from the very beginning of dc all the way up till present day but like i don't know how to find the chronological order of the absolute and omnibuses so do you know anyway I could find out?
This guy has to be rich in order to collect a shit load of omnibus his whole omnibus collection probably cost more then my college tuition including my car + rent
No fucking kidding you go hard, you got better omnis than all 3 pf my fav libraries combined. I love your style too, proof that not every comic book reader is a 14 YO with a pocket protector. edit: Mortal Kombat is the shit.
