The process when you see an emmmabooks video 1. ahhhhhh new vid 2. okay *clicks 3. Starts to watch it 4. Realises it’s 36 mins 5. Then gets super excited when Emma gave us almost 40 mins of content. 👍
I would love for you to include your DNF! Or make a video dedicated to them. I just started letting myself quit books I am not enjoying this year. I don't know why it's so hard to do, but life is too short to waste time and energy on something I'm not enjoying, ya know?
Olivia V it’s because your body is doing all these strange “horrific” things you can’t control like growing hair in strange places, painful cramps, etc.
This summer I was able to become a human again after grad school, and started reading EVERYTHING. My favorite so far has been Skyward and (of course) a Harry Potter reread
I absolutely admire how honest you are! a lot of book reviewers will sugar coat things or they won't straight up say what is wrong about a book because they feel bad. i would much rather have a realistic review. love your channel
I broke my "no more buying books until I finish all the ones I own" rule and bought Renegades #1 (I know I am super late!!). And it's amazing. When it comes to books, I fully trust you!
One of my biggest goals this year was to read The Infernal Devices series that I never read before and I finally binge read the series in August! Haven't picked up a book series that completely engulfed my life in so long, it felt so good. :)
I love your videos and I can't wait to read some of these books. You may have already read this series but I recently finished a trilogy called Slated. I really enjoyed it and hope you might/have/ enjoy it. Thanks so much I love watching these types of videos.
The truth about keeping secrets sounds interesting, especially the part about the friendship. I feel like there aren't enough books out there that discuss hardships in friendships but it is something that happens quite a bit in real life.
I saw you talking about Daisy Jones & The Six on a few of your pass videos, so I got it last week and read it in like two day skdjfsk It was so good !!!! Thank you for the rec !!!!
Your backlighting has SUCH a warm vibe. It feels so cozy. I still havent read The Darkest Minds, and I'm so undecided, but I might just have to try it! I've been thinking of reading my adolescent faves recently but I'm so nervous that I'll hate it now lol. I'm so sad that you DNFed There Will Come A Darkness because I just bought it! But honestly the reasons you put it down are reasons that usually draw me to things, so many I'll like it anyway, so I'd definitely love to hear more of your DNFs! I went to an In Conversations With Rory Power and Megan Shepherd and Rory said that they call it a feminist Lord of the Flies which was her fave classic, but she didn't write with Lord of the Flies in mind which was interesting to me. I loved Wilder Girls, but I am totally with you on the flaws. "THEY KISS AND THEY FUCK AND IT'S GREAT"
@emmmabooks. I just finished reading Queen of Air and Darkness by: Cassandra Clare because I was just in the mood to reread it again... Immediately after I finished QOAAD I was about to check your channel to see if u uploaded a new video... This is perfect omg... Stay amazing as always. Hearing all the mixed reviews about Wilder Girls makes me really intrigued and I want to read it and see what I think of it haha! It sounds interesting!
If you want any recommendations, you should check out Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway, Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Walker (I think you would LOVE this one), Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford, and The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag.
This summer I started fashion school and with all my time sewing, draping, and pattern drafting, I was able to listen to tons of audio books. I read about 13 books in 10 weeks, which is a lot for me! The only book I didn’t love was The Host. It was just far too long and dragged. I really only read about half of it before I finally had to admit to myself that it was a total no-go for me.
shivani raman I still really liked it, there just wasn’t enough happening to justify it being that length. I just got so reader-fatigued by it that I had to put it down and I have zero desire to pick it back up now.
I felt the same way about Somewhere Only We Know. Having read I Believe in a Thing Called Love and The Way You Make Me Feel, I feel like with each book Goo puts out it's not as good as the last one but they're still fine. Still plan on reading more by her though.
THE WAY I SPAT MY TEA OUT WHEN YOU SAID "SHE WANTS THAT DICC SO BAD"JFDSDHS ....but did you lie tho EDIT to say that you should absolutely always talk about DJ&TS
I read Ghosts of the Shadow Market this year and I thought I enjoyed it, but I honestly can't remember much about it now. Tales from Shadowhunter Academy is still on top for best collection of stories.
i was so obsessed with wilder girls personally, i think if they made it a movie it would be REALLY good because the ..things.. that happen would give a good chance for some sickk cinematography and they could prolly speed up the start cuz i know a lot of people didnt like it because it was pretty slow
I want to recommend you a TV show. It's called Prodigal Son. It's about the son of a serial killer that works as an fbi profiler, and deals with the trauma and anxiety, product of what he lived as a child when his father was arrested.
This summer summary was really interesting and I'm gonna have to get a few new books even tho Im maxed out on my list right now, haha. You should read/checkout Finding Fairy Tales by Kate Ramsey. It's a lovely read.
I'm gonna guess shoulder rolls that did that to you in dance class? Everytime I have to teach those my foot is and shoulder are always extremely bruised
My summer vacation is when I read most of my books this year now that I'm in college finding time to read is a struggle. But I did recently find time to spend an entire day reading. (Video coming up soon.)
I’ve been really interested in reading Rachel Caines series Stillhouse Lake because I loved her morganville vampire series. I also tried to read 99 percent mine by Sally Thorne I think I got like 15% in and DNFed it. Judging by your review I’m glad I did 😆
So I started reading The Program because it interested me when you explained it in your “Series I want to reread” vid and I’m so hooked but holy hell, this book is messing with my emotions 😩😩😂🤕😂 lol thank you for introducing it to my life girl... and you look so pretty btw
I've never really been all that interested in American politics but my, Becoming was amazing. Loved the audiobook too and she is such an inspiring woman ✨
I got the devil's night series By Penelope Douglas this month I hope to read it soon. I read Sylvia Day's new book this month butterfly in Frost it was awesome!!! It had a twist I didn't see coming 😲😌 I'm currently reading beauty and the billionaire by Lauren landish. I've enjoyed it so far. Great video
Hi Emma i'm not sure if you'll see this but.. Can you make a video of modern novels set in nineteenth century. Like novels set in Victorian time or something. I've been looking for romance novels like that but none has been as interesting.
