Hood pins is the sexiest. In my opinion muffler delete just make your v8 sound like a goddamn civic. Stock or corsa are the best to keep a real v8 sound
KCars I’m very glad you agree! Yes hood pins really add a great touch I hope you end up doing it! If you don’t wanna drill into your hood there are adhesive hood pins you can get on amaz**.
Glad your enjoying your car man! Try not to go all StreetSpeed with it until your a bonifide RU-vid baller! I know it's hard to stop once the ball gets rolling tho.
Hey KC! Excellent presentation, detailed, informative, and direct to the point. I like the fact that you also state that this is your opinion and you're open to additional suggestions. Thx! Dave
As a detailer I say never forget your paint so....CERAMIC COAT it!!!! Quartz brand tho now there are easier spray on methods. 12 mo protection n nothing better for shine n depth.
Tip from a V6 guy: If you drive an SXT, do not delete the mid mufflers. It sounds like SHIT. Delete the rear ones instead. Doesn't sound like a V8 (and never will) but it sounds much better than the reverse.
Great video!!! You can also put some Super 10s in place of the mid mufflers and delete those resos and it is a whole different animal! Its a meaner sound and you keep your low end torque.
my first 10 mods were mostly cosmetic they are 1 - Tazer from Z Automotive (Cause track mode is nice) 2 - WIndow Tint 3 - Oil Catch Can 4 - Swapped Mid Mufflers for Dynomax Mini Race Bullets 5 - 20x10.5 rims with 315/35/20 tires for the rear 6 - Installed the larger SRT paddle shifters 7 - Red SRT start/stop button 8 - Tail light tint and head light tint 9 - Scat Pack Badge for steering wheel to cover the dodge logo 10 - SRT Powered Bee Badge from BJsGarage570
The first mod that I did on my srt8 Challenger was the pipes to and got rid of the huge resonators and mids, but replaced them with SLP loudmouths which consists of 2 open chamber racing bullets & 3" pipe straight out the back and are loud as hell. Then also got the billet tech shortly after and agree that it is a top priority 2 add. I'm really happy with the exhaust and it breathes so much better, plus they are quite a bit lighter than those huge suitcase style muffler/resonators were. And as heavy ask these big beautiful pigs are, that's a really good thing and will take the savings where I can get it. Did you ever get the Corsa set up yet ?, if not I would consider the SLPs because they are a lot less plus they are lighter than most aftermarket pipes, including Corsa because there's not much to them at all
KCars cool then you should check into the SLPs and think that you will really like them. I think that the Corsas sound great but the slps are ever every bit as nasty and about half the price, their worth looking into anyway
i went with ported 80mm TB cold air intake ripp high perf coil ngk plugs borla attack exhaust system oil catch can ported upper and lower intake manifold smoked out the tail lights and side panels debadged it
Thats because you want that new new lol I prefer used just because of how marked up cars are these days. I couldnt see ever buying something new even if i were rich and could afford something like a lambo. just seems weird. but thats probably because of how i was raised. one mans trash is another mans treasure
@@Bananasmeow1 I feel the same way. I have a newer model Citadel, and i was going to get a 2015 to 2017 scatpack, but i ultimately decided to go late model srt 6.1. I can tune it up to my preference overtime and decide how much show or go I want
Best part of living in the country, mid-muffler delete cost $60. Local shop did mine for $60 out the door, same day and took about 45 minutes and I got to watch.
Actually I was buying it online, a 2012 toxic orange R/T but now they’re pushing my delivery date back for the third time so I’m looking around to see my options
Very informative, love the video. Make more on other mods that you would like to do like how wide tire can fit, And turbo, or even. Changing headlights. And why the shaker vs other trim.
I don’t think you would fail just from the headers. You would fail if you got catless midpipes but you can get midpipes with sport cats and you should be good I think. I don’t have emissions testing where I live so I’m not sure on that
I have trouble getting mine in reverse for some reason. It’s a six speed stick. I have to put in 4 Th and play with it and I don’t understand why. If you or any of your readers have any idea it would help me It’s a 2018 RT Scat with 328 miles
I hope you wouldn't mind answering a question I have about manual shifting,I bought a 2018 Challenger 6.4L Scat in Destroyer grey a little over a week ago and the other day I was approaching a red light at 35mph to 40mph and intentionally bumped the console shifter into manual mode, indicator shows I'm in 5th gear, so I do a double bump to grab 3rd but the trans drops down to 1st and the RPMs crank, not the end of the world except for looking real stupid and being hard on a new engine.I'm sure it was an error on my part but would like to know what it is that I did wrong. My question is: if you hold the shifter forward without letting it return to center does it downshift once or will it shift all the way to 1st?ThanksNice Vids by the wayDavid
I think I may have held it in forward position like you would when shifting a manual 5 speed. might be a hard habit for me to break - old and set in my ways.thanks
lot335 yes if hold it forward.. for a while it just switch all the way down to 1st... and if you hold it for a bit as well it will just send u back to normal mode ..
Good info. The constant pacing and bad framing hurts the production value though. You have a great backdrop and an amazing car-I say park the car at an angle relative to the backdrop, plop the camera on a tripod, stand or sit still and frame yourself on the left or right 3rd of the frame and let the car and backdrop dominate the rest. Maybe even have a tiny bit of DOF just to make the image look a little more polished. The lighting would still be rough though so you may want to position everything in the shade or shoot during the golden hours.
catch can is #1 not 2 or 3. that's number 1. want to sound better? I say drive WOT more often. Then tires and better brake pads; then hit the track. BF Goodrich for tires, Stoptech for brake pads; tried them all; been messing around for 5 years with this. Headers are required when running NA with a bigger cam and ported heads, otherwise not worth the value. great videos and great work though; keep up the good work. A custom tune of course, and run the challenger without ABS and traction control. this is where the fun begins. just sayin'
@KCars, I have a serious question for you and your viewers. I noticed that the vast majority of Scat Pack Challengers on RU-vid are A8's, why? I'd be the first to admit that the A8 is an awesome transmission, and it is a little quicker, but you lose half of the driving experience compared to the M6, in my opinion, The M6 is no slouch either, the Tremec is used in many sports cars including the Viper. I've owned nothing but autos my whole life, but when I bought my '16 Scat Pack Challenger, I had to have the M6. After all, it is one of the last true muscle cars left. Mine has a Barton shifter (another must-have mod for the M6). At this stage of my life, I don't care if I'm a few tenths slower, it's all about the driving experience. No offense, but I think the paddle shifters are a bit of a gimmick unless you're racing on a road course. The A8 is smarter than the driver, it knows exactly when to shift depending on throttle input. Sorry to be so verbose, but inquiring minds want to know! Thanks.
Brian R I’m not really sure why I guess one reason could be because not everybody knows how to drive a manual. Another one could be that the autos are faster like you said. I agree that a manual car is a lot more fun to drive but some people probably just care more about being able to shift faster
I just got an rt plus shaker challenger with the automatic 8 speed. I've always had manual mustang's and Camaros but I wanted to try something different this time and in Atlanta traffic it is nice. If it didn't have the paddle shifters I probably wouldn't have gotten the A8, the paddles in the mountains will be nice.
KCars wassup dude......ok....get this...tune for E-85 if you want to.... aluminum crank pulley's and aluminum driveshaft.... that alone frees up more horsepower from the motor, to the wheels due to less rotational weight mass....save up for a higher stall torque converter as well....then get some drag radials.... you'll need that because of the additional torque and power....if you do race at the track,.. over inflate your tires to 50/60 p.s.i...thats for less drag and your rear should be inflated to 16/22...play in that area,...I GUARANTEE you will put quite a few hurting on a lot of cars you didn't think you could..... TRUST ME.....09-300-C...SRT-8 BEAST.
KCars... mosdef lil bro....when u get rid of that heavy 2 piece driveshaft and those heavy crank pulleys....BIG DIFFERENCE IN TORQUE AND POWER....I DID IT AND KNOW FOR A FACT....your car will rev and pull like crazy dawg.... that's why it's very important to get drag radials because you'll simply shred and lose traction....BIG TIME....with regular street tires...then with the E-85 tune...that is allowing your car to burn and explode harder from the tune and no cat's that your exhaust is free from,... oh....check out getting a set of better plugs as well...I'll let you know the one's I have....if not...just keep it 93 and or go from there...your suspension maybe in question for later down the road that's why before you drag race anyone...deflat your rear tire pressure to 15/22 pounds for that... SERIOUS GRAB N GO....from off the line....I promise you lil bro...my word is real...you do that and smiles all day is what will show on your face...then its camaro/ mustang hunting time...mainly Ford....I hate them...yeah dawggy....do those mods...and I suscribed to your channel and want to see you post it up....do brother....you would not have wasted your time or money....only 5.0s
For looks and I have no clue why more don't do this on their challenger is the front Phantom cover grill , totally adds to the look of the car. They are $120 ( used to be $89) on Amazon, they are made of stainless square tube come in black but can be powder coated to change the color to match yer car ....looks awesome, takes literally 20 to put on
You already have a decent exhaust - cam & kit is in order of next. Should have done that with the headers, before the tune. Ask your Dyno guy what he would expect in HP increase for a corsa. Probably none.
Mike P not expecting any horsepower from the corsa xtreme just looking for a little more aggressive sound, and I’m looking into getting a cam sometime down the road!
Mike P hey I’m trying to get an exhaust but I’m not trying to get pulled over I just want a exhaust that’s not to loins but not soft like is there one a little softer than yours
Hey friend, I have a question. Have you ever had your headers retightened after they were installed? If so, how often? Also, can retightening be accessed from under the hood without going underneath? Thanks.
Awesome Kcars 《☆》You've already done more road racing in Your Chally than most haters have in whatever pos they might be driving. If You go lower on ride height You will most likely have some clearance issues with long tubes. Airbags are more expensive but seem to work well other than the added weight, interior noise from compressors & the co$t of installtion & longterm ownership ☻
Im not a huge fan of the sound after you put headers on there.. IMO it sounds better with just the mid's cut off. Personally, I'd say some aesthetics need to be done.. My 5.7 is red like yours, but I have some of the retro stripes (bumble bee stripe on the rear) Satin black roof, and on the hood (cowl or vents or whatever) not the entire hood. You know these cars have a million different styles/designs for stripes / pin stripes / ghost patterns.. and red/black looks amazing out here.. Havent seen any of your newer vids to see where you're at with it now, but just know when I originally watched this... it was part of my inspiration for getting the red chally too..
Felipe Lobos' different people like different sounds, I was going for the super loud in your face sound and I also wanted to gain some power. And I agree I’ve been thinking about getting a black stripe on the sides of the trunk like some of them come stock with. I’ve also added some cosmetic stuff like a diffuser, side skirts, and rock guards. I have videos about all of those mods if you wanna check them out! And that’s awesome that I inspired you to also get a red RT! Thanks for the support!
@@KCars Yea i feel you 100% bro.. I'll def. check out more of your vids, I don't mind supporting.. I'll also give you a follow on IG. It's been a while since I've been on here. Keep building your ride, and hopefully i'll be in a scat pack, or SRT within the next 2 years!
Not a fan of mid muffler delete or any cuts on the stock exhaust. It will ruin your car in the next few years. Any full performance exhaust makes your car sounds like a beast and I will recommend Borla. But any of that like your videos man.
First should be oil catch can. (4) I wouldn't mess with the mid mufflers or resonators, without one or the other it sounds raspy and at high rpms it can sound hideous. If you want LOUD install exhaust dumps for the natural deep sound of the 392 and you can close them depending on the situation. If you're on a budget you can install MFER-1 mods on the active exhaust which keeps the butterflies wide open at all times. (2) Z Automotive Taser, you can do sooo much shit with it. (5) Headers are good if you can afford them. (3) Tinting the tail lights and rear reflectors would would be at the top of my list as well, inexpensive and look great.
I don’t know any in New Jersey but if it’s not too far I’d definitely recommend OST Dyno near Pittsburgh, that’s where I went to get the headers installed and a dyno tune, one of the best in the world!
My 2009 SRT8 has a reso delete and it sounds nice, especially during hard acceleration. It does have a bit of a drone to it, which I dont mind, but the wife hates it, lol.
Andrew Cerreta no the midpipes replace the stock midpipes when you get long tube headers. Since the length of the headers is longer, you have to get shorter midpipes so they will fit. The mid mufflers are separate from the midpipes, they are part of the catback. Go to a shop that does exhaust and they can cut out the mufflers and replace them with straight pipe
@@KCars Stickshift too 👌 those mods you laid out were perfect and had perfect reasoning to them. Especially about the oil catch can. Do you add a bit of oil after you clean it out to the engine to top off what was lost?
It does if you paid for extended. Don't believe anyone in the comments. Call Dodge if you like, they will tell you the same thing, it voids the warranty. The standard warranty will only void the exhaust, and any problem linked to altering it. If you paid for extended coverage, Mopar does not actually sell you a warranty, it's an "extended service contract." This does not fall under warranty law, they are good about honoring it but any dumb mods that can hurt the car, or if they find you've got it up too fast a speed, anything and they void your "warranty."
@faithful The law state's a consumer can use replacement aftermarket parts without voiding a warranty. A mid muffler delete is technically removing a part entirely. However they would also need to prove the damage was caused by your mod to void a warranty and it would only be specific to that. For example. If you slap on NOS and your head unit dies. One has nothing to do with the other. If you slap on NOS and you blow your fucking engine. Well. Good bye warranty.
Damn bro !! That's impressive ! I heard you could get gains with bbk shorty headers as well. Just not sure which one youd get more gains from. Do you happen to know ?
