Brother, you have to read the Byrne run. I was a huge comic reader as a kid (late 60s to mid 70s). Started surfing in 75, so I didn't have any spare $ for comics. Still read friends stuff, just didn't keep up with it. I was stationed at Pendleton in the early 80s and a guy in my platoon bought EVERYTHING, every week, so I was right back in it. Had loved Byrne's art from Iron Fist & X-Men back in the day. Who knew he was a good writer? His run on FF was solid. Loved it and Alpha Flight. Got out of the crotch, and saw an issue of FF in a convenience store (84). Boom! Been a junkie ever since. I envy you getting to read his stuff for the first time. Not spectacular, just good stories, utilizing the previous 20 years of Marvel history. Thanks for the vids!
Thanks for putting this one out. Yeah, I heard if it is true there will be an official announcement coming out next week if an agreement was reached between Disney and Fox. That would be so awesome to see the FF get the MCU treatment like many of Marvel's other characters. I feel it's a travesty that this hasn't happened yet when the FF was the one that started it all (I know we had the previous three major films but I really don't count those as they do not compare with the other MCU films). There was a reason Marvel called the book "The Worlds Greatest Comic Magazine" after the silver age ended. Maybe the Incredibles 2 movie coming this summer will inspire a more effective representation of the "First Family" in a motion picture. Let's hope!
F4 omnibus vol2 (Lee&Kirby) is so hard to get, cannot find any of it online that is available that can be shipped to the country I live in, hopefully I’ll find one eventually, really enjoyed the first volume!
Thanks Stephen you're the best. You got your panther apps wrong they're 52 and 53. Annihilus is annual 6 and other than that you the god father bro keep it up love your shit man.
I really want the second volume of the stan lee, jack kirby run because there so many good issues and its not printed in epic collections yet, so sad its out of print
Well instock sold out of my alpha flight omni so I'm screwed now. Have to pay amazon prices which is higher by twenty bucks. Still debating on the fraction ff so I watched this again to see the art but thinking maybe flash instead for right now. thx gem man.
I like to think he was just walking down the street and somehow got all tangled up in the rope like a pair of earbuds... things only got worse from there.
Was there ever a Mark Millar / Bryan Hitch Fantastic Four Omnibus printed? I searched online and found this IBSN Number 9780785133711, supposedly 400 pages, but have never seen one for sale anywhere. One site I googled said it was printed on January 27, 2010. But, I'm wondering if it got issued an IBSN, and printing date, but got cancelled last minute? If it does exist, it is extremely rare.
I have the first print volume 1, and it's really just a copy to collect imo. It doesn't have that good binding and the other additions are just easier to actually read.
That's true. They usually improve the book, structurally speaking. Could be another reason why 1st prints don't hold value. Second prints comes out and are cheaper and better quality.
Hey I was wondering in the place you store your books do you watch the temperature/humidity? I keep my room at 73 degrees and the humidity between 46-51.
There is very little dialogue I guess in the modern books. This guy thinks the old stuff is hard to read. I think the new comics look like picture books for little babies. Back in the day I even learned some language reading comics. Now it looks like nothing but a few thought or comment bubbles. I'd say the modern books lack a lot of depth and plot development.
