@@MickeyMouseTotallyReal I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone I just think it was a funny way of phrasing it and I thought it would be worth pointing out, clearly it bothers you more than it bothers them
Me since Ultimate came out: My new decade resolution is to play and finish every game represented in Smash Ultimate Me after watching this video: OK nevermind
Honestly it’s kinda crazy and awesome that Smash Bros references media outside of games such as the Pokémon anime and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
This video was honestly a treat. Seeing every game listed is so interesting and shows how much representation really is in Smash. I also get excited seeing some of my favorite games mentioned that I own
Add an extra 2 because of the Evil Ryu spirit that came out not too long after this video. These are the Street Fighter Alpha (manga) (for the origin of the spirit) and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers (for the artwork).
I already mentioned Ultra II in the alt costumes segment, but thanks for letting me know about the Alpha manga! The SmashWiki doesn't make any mention of it, but the Street Fighter Wiki says that Evil Ryu did indeed debut in that manga. Guess the new total is 959.
Fixes/additions 7:42 Steve's first game is Minecraft: Classic Edition which is the first version of minecraft 23:11 That alt of mewtwo is based on shadow mewtwo from Pokken Tournament Mega Lucario in Lucario's final smash is from Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers for the new Evil Ryu spirit (+ the Street Fight Manga) Super Mario Bros. Wonder with the new Elephant Mario Spirit The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with the Rauru Spirit Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with the Noah and Mio spirit Splatoon 3 with the Deep Cut spirit Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the Koraidon and Miraidon Spirit Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the Teal Mask With the Ogerpon Spirit Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the Indigo Disk with the Terapagos Spirit Princess Peach Showtime with the Swordfighter Peach Spirit Steve's Costume's would add back the Legacy Console Editions of Minecraft 13 Sentinels is represented by the 13 Sentinel Pilots eBaseball Power Pros is represented by the Power Pro-Kun, Aio Hayakawa, & Mamoru Ikari Spirit Hades is represented by the Zagreus Spirit
The original Super Robot Wars is represented by Zaku II as its game origin. Either a Super Robot Wars or a SD Gundam G Generations game would be represented by a Pyra/Mythra alt that references Gundam Unicorn. Super Robot Wars J (Judgement) was Tekkaman Blade's first game.
Some things to note tho: Travis design is actually from NMH Travis Strikes Back and the Vault Boy is specifically from Fallout 4 given then number on his back And shouldn't we consider the original Doom as well because it's the same character?
@@SunsetSoloist no prob hahaha I actually made a count myself, regarding every single franchise represented in Smash (to solidify the argument that it needs to be on Nintendo to be represented). Only 3 franchises are debatable represented (Ehrgeiz, Arcana and that racing game which Sonic appeared). I saw your other videos and you have an amazing repertoire. If you need any help with editing/more hands to edit, I'm at your disposal (modesty aside, I'm pretty good with editing)
Dude this video is AMAZING. As someone who loves making useless lists cataloguing the games and franchises represented in Smash, this video validates my bizarre interests. Thank you for making it!
@@SunsetSoloist I also think it'd be great if you did a sequel, talking about the games and media represented in the other Smash games. Not sure how many there'll be, but I do know some of the games mentioned in the Loose Ends section, like Mario Party 2, and Mario 64 DS, do have some more concrete representation in other Smash games.
Yea mentioning bedrock edition is really unnecessary and the fact that he originated in the first minecraft versions which now became minecraft java edition.
Steve blinks which is something exclusive to bedrock and the snow version of Minecraft World has a flower in the same block as a snow layer which is also exclusive to Bedrock
@@thebananaspeedruns9275 yea they are exclusives to bedrock but bedrock edition came way later than minecraft classic which is the first version steve was in.
I found your channel through some of your old stuff and I just want to say this content is amazing, glad I remembered you and started digging and found this
A correction for Steve: The Legacy Versions of Minecraft didnt come out until 2012, while Steve had a part of the Java Edition since 2009. Meaning that the original Java Edition was his debut game Steve also technically debuted for an unreleased game called Zombie Town before Minecraft's conception, if you wanna include that That aside, good video
Some things that you missed: Steve had an early cameo on a early Mojang game called Zombie Town The original doom should be counted cause they are the same person Link's Crossbow Training and Yoshi (the game Yoshi itself) are both mentioned on the tips menu Marvel vs. Capcom is mentioned on Ryu's Palutena Guidance Luigi's Classic mode features a reference to Jason Voorhees Piranha Plant's Boxing Ring Title references the movie "Jaws" Megalovania was a music from the Earthbound Rom Hack just like you mentioned, but before becoming the Undertale version there was also a version on a Homestuck album called "Homestuck Vol. : Heir Transparent" The blue falcon can float on the Big Blue stage, which it only did on the original F-ZERO comic Mewtwo's Boxing Ring Title references the 16th Pokemon movie The metal plate on Terry's Black Costume is inspired by his Anime Appearances Corrin's Classic Mode route references the Fire Emblem Trading Card Game There are thousands of references to the pokemon anime, from classic routes to entire designs of characters Zelda's pose during Down B references Jojo Bizzare Adventure (this part was a joke) you may have mentioned one of two of these sources and i missed but i'm sure i helped this counter up at least a bit
the Travis Touchdown costume also comes specifically from Travis Strikes Again. There were also some music arrangements from Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars and Castlevania Harmony of Despair
There are still more games represented since they recently added a bunch of new spirits (Hades, Princess Peach Showtime, Mario Wonder, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Xenoblade 3, the konami baseball game, another 3rd party game, Pikmin 4, Tears of the Kingdom and splatoon 3)
Now it's 972 games with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games with spirits for Sprigatito, Fuecoco, & Quaxly as one united spirit, and Koraidon & Miraidon as another. But I wonder if this also includes The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, because there are also 2 individual spirits for Ogerpon and Terapagos.
Thank you so much for compiling all of these individual games! I once tried to do that in a personal document of mine, but didn't even come close to some of the games and media you found... Hope you can take a nap now...
Since this video has now not aged well because Ultimate is now adding 4 new spirit events, I will update this with the games those events are representing: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Splatoon 3 Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Pikmin 4 WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Hades NEW TOTAL: 965
this video has sent me into a mad hyperfixation spiral, im sure you're plenty aware of most of these, but here are some edits id make (will find plenty more as this fixation continues so i will probably edit the comment plenty) -fire mini dk is from mario vs donkey kong 2, leaving the mini mario spirit as the proper rep for mario vs donkey kong 1 -the super mario 64 ds spirit battle is kiiiiiiiind of a stretch, of course there would be bob omb items in the spirit battle for king bob omb it'd be kinda weird if there weren't, although i struggle to find something to replace it with except for mayyyybe wario's f-air, which resembles his mid-air kick from that game -mario's down smash is also just the crouching attack from mario 64, and unfortunately i dont think there's anything else in ultimate from ddr mario mix, however there is a bowser sticker in brawl that uses his artwork from that game! -daisy's final smash is kind of in a similar boat here, kind of a stretch. once again has a sticker in brawl tho, one with diddy kong's artwork from that game -peach's 6th alt isn't necessarily her wedding gown from spm, the alt is kind of a 1-1 from the alt in melee, so i'd put the mr. L and dimentio spirits for spm instead -the artwork for the waluigi strikers spirit i think should only count for charged, as that's the game the art is from, and i'd put the football item as the media from the original strikers game (the trophy for the item in brawl specifically relates it to strikers so i think it counts)
Couple of notes about Gundam: - Samus's Zaku design, game-wise, would have its debut in Super Robot Wars, a Japanese-only GB game. - Pyra/Mythra have an alt that heavily references Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. For its game of origin you would have to check either the Super Robot Wars or the SD Gundam G Generations franchises.
One time (as an understatement) I compiled a spreadsheet of every video game I’ve ever played so far, and designed a Smash game around it. I think it would be a fun idea to build on that list each year and see how that effects the game concept.
Dude I was going to stop watching after the 20 minutes mark due to the knowledge overload but out of your dedication I powered through the entire video. Mad props to you and your dedication to make this video. Also, I believe the motion sensor bombs originated from GoldenEye 007. At least the N64 design. I don’t believe you mentioned GoldenEye so that could put it at 959
Really great video, it scratches that weird itch for random lists and shows honestly just how much went into this game. Huge thanks to sakurai and all the devs for making one of my favorite games of all time PS, we could add the band crush 40 for being behind some of the sonic music, i know its not a game but hey, at this point why not?
So here's what I've got for that eBASEBALL: POWER PROS spirit. 966: Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu '94 (Power Pro-Kun's game origin) 967: Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu 4 (Mamoru Ikari's (game origin) 968: Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu 7 (Aoi Hayakawa's game origin) 969: (Power Pro-Kun's artwork origin): Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu Heroes 970: (Aoi Hayakawa & Mamoru Ikari's artwork origin): Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu (2014) 971: Gunder the Dog's origin: Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyu 2 To go along with the other 3 I mentioned last time, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, WBSC eBASEBALL: POWER PROS, and Hadees. As well as Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, and Xenoblade 3.
What I find shocking is that among those 958 games, some really popular franchises are still left unrepresented (Ace Attorney, Halo, CoD, Fortnite, GTA, GoW, Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider)
3 new franchises debut in Smash Ultimate as Spirits: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Hades and WSBC: eBASEBALL: POWER PROS. It could JUST increase it to 965 games, but we have to also take in to account the artwork origins for our newbies. So I'll put 965+ games until the answers are revealed.
Power Pro-Kun debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 94, Gunder the puppy dog (while did appear but was not named in the spirit) debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 2, Aoi Hayakawa debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 7, and Mamoru Ikari debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Prob Yakyu 4…so that means the total is now 969?
I'll say it again because I forgot about RU-vid not liking the links to other websites. New Spirit Event: Fresh New Faces! Rauru from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Deep Cut from Splatoon 3 Noah & Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Oatchi from Pikmin Making the game rally total increased to 962 games now.
I dont think you mentioned it so I might as well here Pac-Land (the game the stage of the same name originates from) is based on the Hanna Barbera Pac-Man cartoon
And now it's time to end this list once and for all, as we have 2 final games to be represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Resulting in a grand final total of 975 games represented. And in terms of what franchise they chose? We're jumping all the way straight up TO..... (click on read more to find out) Super Mario Bros. We're ending the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate journey with Spirits from Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Princess Peach: Showtime!, so there's are no more minor universe representations sorry. But Princess Peach: Showtime! does win the first honor until the next game to be the first 2024 game represented in Smash.
@@dillzzongo Fun Fact: Naughty Dog confirmed that Donkey Kong Country was the biggest inspiration for Crash. This explains why Dingodile reminds of me of King K Rule.
No, the official nintendo website, nintendo kids club UK website, sonic channel website, wii menu, donkey kong country tv-show, the guiness world records, super mario encyclopedia and the fire emblem art book are NOT video games
Speaking of what @JosephRiveraSantiago0617 mentioned, Power Pro-Kun debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 94, Gunder the dog (while did appear but was not named in the spirit) debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 2, Aoi Hayakawa debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Pro Yakyu 7, and Mamoru Ikari debuted in Jikkyo Powerful Prob Yakyu 4. So this brings us a total of 969.
