As much as I love angst in my ships, it's nice to have one where it's just adorable losers loving each other. WE COULD'VE HAD A WHOLE NOTHER SEASON OF CUTE SHENANIGANS 😭 Never forget what they took from you. Don't like Lumity? Well tf you doin here? Get out bitch lmao Sub 2 the second channel btw: ru-vid.com/show-UCEG_QK5tOBsqyhBdIgv63Ug
@@George_Fl0yd You're a sick individual yourself for mocking a dead man and having the nerve to take this comment and twist it into something it's not
Remember when the Grom reveal happened, and we all thought, "Okay, that's great, but it's probably going to take until the end of the next season for them to be official, if not longer"? I'm so glad that long wait never happened. These episodes are going to go down in history for their part in progressing this kind of representation in animation, and I couldn't be happier.
You know what’s a good little detail I noticed. In the beginning, Amity’s hair was green, representing that she was always following her mother’s footsteps. The small patch of brown hair was her being a bit like Alador. When she dyed it, almost all of her hair was lavender, signifying that she was rebelling against both her parents, especially her mother. In Season 3, the patch of brown on the top of her head represents how she’s letting Alador be more in her life, and in the epilogue, when a ton of her hair is brown, it shows that she’s accepted Alador into her life, and she still may have lavender hair, but now she’s cut Odalia out of her life for good.
This show proves a lesbian princess can be done appropriately and done well. Disney has NO excuse Hell given a certain Florida governor, they may as well.
Literally Amity initiated 7 out of those 9 kisses 😘. Which really shows how much love 💕 she has to give, especially to Luz. She must have been holding in her feelings for so long when she only listened to her mom.

My girlfriend and I adore them so much. In fact, when I introduced her to this show, she was just my very good friend at the time. But then watching their beautiful love story unfold gave us the courage to confess our feelings to each other. I’m forever grateful to Lumity for the joys and gifts they brought into my life, and for making me believe in love. I’m so happy to live in a universe where this adorable couple exist on my screens. And I’m so sad I won’t get to see more of their future. But then again, who knows for sure if we’ll never see them again? The future is full of surprises after all.
Luz and amity are so cute together and I love the romantic story they had! 💜 Screw Disney. The idea that children wouldn’t be able to keep up with story driven shows is ridiculous. We need more shows like this.
Every single kiss scene makes me feel joy for them. Honestly the best couple ever. If there’s ever a wedding spinoff they should make that Lumity kiss scene extra special Crikey that was unexpectedly excellent. Every time they get together there’s love in the air. Favorite ship of all others. Lumity forever and ever….and ever after that. Now I want them to have their college years together. Next they should make magical promise rings.
@@user-fs4xw2ov2bI love the way that you framed this as if it's impossible for a woman to marry, meaning every single marriage is between two men. In all seriousness, gay marriage was legalized in the US in 2015, and has been legal in Connecticut since 2008 (Gravesfield is in Conneticut), plus the boiling isles don't seem to have literally any prejudice when it comes to sexuality so if marriage exists there (which, proposal does so I assume marriage must too), it's 100% legal.
The development between these two is so poignant yet so subtle. Starting out as enemies with Amity being a bully to Luz, they grow to being frienemies once they start communicating and eventually become friends by helping each other out. Amity grows more uncertain of how she feels around Luz, going from indifferent to the point of acting shy awkward around her (notice the blushing) and Luz's feelings for Amity develop later on the more they're together before becoming a couple. It's something you never would have seen coming when you watch the series from the beginning, but you can see all the subtleties throughout if you pay attention. I've seen a lot of couples in TV that just fall in love out of random, not out of chemistry but just because, sometimes even offscreen. Also, the fact that this is a kids program, where normally if a gay couple is ever shown, they're usually in the background or one of the supporting characters. This is the first time a main characters are shown to be LGBQT in a Disney show. Also, they're given the dignity of not only having them interact a lot but also treating them like a regular couple, like being gay isn't a big deal in this universe. This is way more progressive than I ever thought I would see in anything, let alone in a "kids show".
It’s problematic Af having a bully fall in love with her victim, but since their lesbian that makes it ok just like how ezra Miller still gets to be the flash
@@George_Fl0yd I dont see the problem with that. People can change. They arent made just to have one main personality. People like you really need to touch grass more.
@@George_Fl0yd I feel the relationship is much more nuanced. Amity had to grow as a person, apologize for her actions and help Luz out before their relationship started. She became a better person. I would say it would be just as good if they were straight. Just look at Hunter. He was a villain and then he also grew and then dated Willow.
I was SOOOO worried that at the end of the series that they would have to say goodbye. Let's all give Dana Terrace a round of applause for letting Lumity live on!!
And that it was comfirmed that got married later in the series. Well, as far as I've seen. (I think they were engaged in the timeskip, since Amity gave Luz her necklace, which usually means engagement in the Boiling Isles)
well, it wouldn't make sense for Luz to have to say goodbye, it would be dark and sad, but the way the script constructed the show, doing the same thing to Amphibia's ending would only be anticlimactic
@@user-fs4xw2ov2bIdk bout you, but homphobia and prejudice doesn't exist in the Boiling Isles, and gay marriage is completely legal in Conneticut, where the human realm portion of the show takes place. So like, they can definitely get married.
I love how in the end luz still had the same length hair , despite her wanting to grow out her hair when she was younger, showing she was able to except and love herself as she is
Tbh, i am one of that (anti-woke) guys, yet i really like lumity, since it's one of the most serious a ship has ever been. I mean that development is nor something to be messed with, and it is super good.
@@fdproducciones-fiestaydive6334 good dude, i think the relationship needed to be less wholesome or needed to have more moments of drama and darkness, but that's not a big deal for the simple reason that Luz and Amity have chemistry and that's something that even many straight couples on animated shows don't have
@@ai_iziI love that there wasn't any angst with them, it fits their relationship. Luz and Amity built their entire friendship and then relationship on mutual communication and trust, they love eachother. Sure they have a few moments of fighting, but they talk it out and resolve the issue. Why would you want anything different from a couple in a kids' show that's supposed to be modeling a healthy relationship? Toh doesn't need relationship drama
@@BluAru that's a good point, but then we have episodes like Reaching Out or Thanks to Them or even the wasted For The Future, those episodes have top Lumity moments because Dana gave us some dark and dramatical moments and that's essence
I love how this is one last jab at Disney from Dana. She said, "Oh... so you let us have a Lumity kiss, huh? ... Well, in that case... FOR THE FINALE, WE'RE GONNA GO ALL OUT WITH AN UNCENSORED LUMITY KISS WHERE THEY'RE VISIBLY LOCKING LIPS!!!" *Maniacal laughter*
So she intentionally had 2 minors trade spit together on a program that’s always been known for families? Yeah I can see trash like this was pulled off the air.

Lumity really has everything you could want in a cartoon ship. They’re aesthetically adorable together, Sarah-Nicole and Mae are phenomenal actresses who portray the feeling of being young and in love beautifully, they were formed after a great character arc from Amity, and they are truly a healthy couple who make their partner a better person while always being there for them. They’re the total package and they’ll always hold a place in my heart.

You know, I hear a lot of people talking about how Luz's relationship with Amity is adorable and a huge step forward for LGBTQ rep in cartoons. And, yeah, it definitely is, but I think a lot of us undersell just how important it is for both characters. Luz originally saw Amity as just a generic school bully but as she sees a bigger perspective she begins to value this otherwise abnormal dynamic. I mean, how could someone who comes off as such a surface level jerk, possibly ever become a friend, let alone a romantic partner? Those differences between Amity and Luz appear to make the idea of a romance between them seem implausible at first. But it's also those differences that help the two bond and see the better aspects of each other. Luz found someone who cared and understood her. And what makes it different from her other friends in the demon realm is because Luz has never had a partner before. Eda's practically a mother figure to her, King's like a little brother, and Gus and Willow are entirely platonic friends who she easily gets along with because they have a surface level common interest to bond over. Amity poses a much bigger challenge to Luz, as she appears almost unreachable. Exactly like the kind of person she fears interacting with back home. But every time she sees Amity (and by extension, every time the audience sees her), she learns something new about this supposed one note bully. And seeing these gradual glimpses of humanity makes her want to befriend this unreachable person even more. We could say the same about Amity. She wants a deeper connection with someone else her age but she isn't sure how to go about doing it. After all, Luz still didn't give up on her, even though so many other people did. There's a journey towards finally getting the ship confirmed but the challenge makes the final result so much more fulfilling and meaningful. Luz and Amity make each other better and improve as people because of their time with each other. Point is, if you honestly dislike or hate this ship, we can't be friends. It's that simple.
Sadly, it’s not very likely now that Dana left Disney back in March. But no matter what, at least the series ended on a high note. Granted yeah a spin-off comic or something similar would be nice
Lumity Kiss episodes: -Through The Looking Glass Ruins -Follies At The Coven Day Parade -Clouds On The Horizon -Chibi Tiny Tales: Lumity Date -Thanks To Them -For The Future -Watching And Dreaming
The evolution of this couple is purely legendary throughout the show. I'm glad they did as we got to see Luz and Amity get closer as a couple and now they're closer than ever. They are together forever. Together, they’ve rewrote the stars. Lumity will always be one of if not THE best LGBTQ couple in animation history! Long live The Owl House! and Long Live Lumity.
I heard all the hype around the owl house's main couple, and I just thought that everyone loved it cause it was gay. I was absolutely delighted to find out it's because Lumity is one of the sweetest and best written relationships in all of animation... And it's gay.
Lumity Forever! They are so cute, and their relationship was well written and brilliant chemistry! Thank you once more, Dana, from creating such a cute couple for the series!
What makes me laugh is that in the other cartoons where there are couples, it's always complicated. Each time it's "he loves me" "actually not" "maybe" and there, Owl House offers us a simple relationship (despite the difficulties of the story) and without unnecessary drama.
I would hope there could a possible future series for the show, maybe a timeskip Lumity spin-off, but until that happens, this couple will always be cherished and be seen in fanart and web comics in the future. 💜
small fun fact: at like 1:05 where Amity tells Luz all that stuff, that's actually what Luz said to her when she first confessed and I find that adorable omg
I'm rewatching TOH again, to cope probably, and I'll just say it will be extremely fun to once again see the growth of Lumity. I'm on the covention episode which is debatably one of the first episodes that starts building towards our favourite ship (honestly one of the best couples in animated fiction)
Does it make anyone else so sad how happy these young girls are in love and so far ahead of us? What did I do wrong to miss that when I was their age.?
...Ladies and gentlemen, it has been an absolute pleasure watching this incredible show with you all, theorizing how it would break our hearts at every turn. May we someday get a sequel or spinoff so we can see these two dorks continue this relationship.
Honestly these two are just adorkable. They have chemistry. They feel like a good relationship. This avoided a lot of pitfalls that Romances in Fiction usually fall into.
Unfortunately, Dana left Disney back in March so it’s not very likely now. But whether we do or don’t at least the show ended on a high note, given the circumstances
Yeah. Serves Luz and Amity right! The best couple in the Disney Multiverse that will always be remembered in this show. Lumity 4 life! Lumity forever!💖💜
To quote hooty "their adorable and deserve all the happiness". Seriously this was a very cute relationship I wish we got to see more episodes with them together just being a couple. Especially when they were in the human realm it would have been great to see their first date there. I'm also glad they didn't do the thing of becoming a couple near the end of the series and these two actually got together around halfway through season 2 it was a great choice since it let us seem them as a couple and it's nice how even after the time skip they still love each other. I hope we get a spin off series set in the world after the time skip and get to see more of them and the rest of the cast and what their lives are like now.
As much as I’m thrilled that we actually got TWO lips to lips kisses, the cheek Pecks are literally the sweetest thing on this entire earth, I love it so much
I remember when S1 was just airing and every new episode that got released that featured even the tiniest hint of Lumity, I would squeal loudly irl - and now they are a happy couple!
You know this comment reminds me of when Stan Lee produced the idea of spiderman they laughed at him but look who's laughing now even from the grave. R.I.P. Stan Lee It's the same thing with Dana and Disney except without the grave.
0:22 Amity sitting their in stunned silence, face beat red after Luz grabbed her face and kissed her is my one of my all time favorite moments in the show 😂😂😂
AHHH I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH!THIS REPRESENTATION WAS SO FUCKING GOOOD!and i JUST LOVE how when they kissed here they didnt get flustered at all it really shows that it just came naturally and when amity kisses her cheek in the future and luz puts her arms around her even though shes looking at the others IS JUST SOOOOO WHOLESOME IT SHOWS THAT THEY HAD BEEEN TOGETHER FOR A WHILE NOW!❤❤❤❤
It's nice when the relationship happens at the beginning of a series. Or if it happens at all. And it's even nicer when it doesn't break again after a few episodes, and they just get along well. You almost never see a working relationship in any show. It's either, they break up, or they don't even come together, or the relationship fades into backgronud, or they have a lot of issues.
I love that they don't invade each other's privacy and instead they actually communicate with each other, for example in the episode where Luz forgets her phone and Amity finds it, she doesn't just watch the video or make assumptions and get upset, but she talks to Luz about it, and the problem gets resolved. Same with the brawl episode, luz is upset and acting weird, and they talk about it instead of getting mad at each other. Lumity forever ❤️
I love it when Amity says too Luz at the portal what Luz said to Amity when they got too, and this is the best animated couple, EVER (well in my opinion)
