I haven't played this game in years and forgot 70% of the tracks. Top 5 checks out from what I remember, people take for granted how beautiful Rainbow Road is. Maybe I'll grab this one sometime soon, having nostalgia for a Wii game is surreal
I think Rainbow Road is the most overrated track because people are way too biased towards and they only like to play it for the memes which I highly dislike. This is why I like playing tracks that are different and don’t have meme songs like Coconut Mall which again people only like for the memes.

@@tax1283 It's just my personal opinion, I hate Coconut Mall for the memes and I hate Rainbow Road for what it is and people like it just to miss with their friends and its not one of favorite tracks for the most part in general but I will play Rainbow Road over Coconut Mall, but not over 20 other tracks. TTing it is nothing but torture for me and on a side note, please don't call me crazy, this is just my personal opinion.
Great work with the video! Mario Kart is a very special series to me so seeing you talk about it makes me smile. Would love to see you discuss and rank the other games tracks in the future. Favorite Tracks of mine from this game are Maple Treeway, Toad's Factory, Coconut Mall, GCN Waluigi Stadium, and GCN DK Mountain.
Yo great video as always man! Brought back so many memories seeing all these tracks again. Agreed with a lot of the placements on here. Definitely need to revisit this game sometime, I've always felt right at home with it. 8 is a lot of fun, but I definitely miss the simple aesthetics and creativity that came with Wii.
I’m surprise Yoshi Falls was number 1 I have been playing some Old Mario Kart games recently and this game, DS and Double Dash gave me a ton of Nostalgia when I play them again
That track is one of the most boring in my opinion, no offense but I don’t like it that much, time trialing this track is nothing but torture for me and I would take Shroom Ridge or Waluigi Pinball over this. I will play this over Dry Dry Ruins or Sherbet Land if I have to though.
Back when I was a kid I was all over Mario Kart DS/Wii (and the SEGA counterpart), so it's so nice to see someone I watch cover what I consider to be the best entry in the franchise overall, heh. I will enjoy these 19 minutes. Edit: I enjoyed the 19 minutes.
This ranking is PERFECT, in my opinion. I COMPLETELY agree with the top two especially, and I’m glad Koopa Cape was so high up. Those are my top three easily.
Exactly why I don't watch these lists normally because 80% of lists have Rainbow Road or Coconut Mall at 1 for the memes, which really fucking disgusts me. That's why I don't like Coconut Mall because it's nothing but a big meme with the song and being used a lot in every day situation memes. This is why I have BC3, Peach Gardens, and Moonview Highway in my top 3, not just because they are not memey, and because I think they are underrated, but because I like to not go all no brainer and personally for someone who thinks Rainbow Road is the most overrated track ever especially SNES Rainbow Road, fuck that track, I think its the most overrated track in the Mario Kart Universe. These tracks that I have at my top 3 are also ones that make me rage little to almost not at all because I know them pretty well and they're among my best tracks in this game.
Dry Dry Ruins can kiss my ass, this track gives me PTSD because it’s nothing but torture for me when I play it. Personally, I don’t like Desert Hills that much, but I like it much more than Dry Dry Ruins as it’s not as windy in some sections except for the ending and I learned Desert Hills much better than Dry Dry Ruins.
*My Mario Kart Wii tracks list:* 32: GBA Shy Guy Beach (Sad they didn't include more ramps or shy guys walking around, boring lay-out, only the bombs are fun) 31: DS Desert Hills (Worst retro track in my opinion, only 1 ramp and the bigger scale doesn't help, also weird out of bounce) 30: SNES Mario Circuit 3 (Better scale but still forgettable and would've been nicer with some ramps in the off-road and ad signs) 29: SNES Ghost Valley 2 (Personally like the blocks falling but it's too short and reminds me that the Boo item isn't in the game) 28: DS Yoshi Falls (Like that they made some tricks on the bridge but short and in a circle. Shy Guy Beach is definitely the most forgettable course in the game imo, I remember listing off 31 of the 32 courses as a kid, and Shy Guy Beach was the only one I couldn't remember

My list for this game: 32. SNES Mario Circuit 3 (The most flat and boring track in the game by far. Why is this in the Lightning Cup or in the game at all, seriously?) 31. Luigi Circuit (another track that is very boring) 30. Wario's Gold Mine (Annoying course for the Flower Cup. I did struggle with this as a kid and gave me traumas. Music is way better though) 29. GBA Shy Guy Beach (Flat and boring, but the atmosphere is ok and the music is alright) 28. DS Yoshi Falls (Never liked in DS and never liked it here) 27. Mario Circuit (The second worst nitro Mario Circuit (excluding the SNES ones) in the whole series) 26. Moo Moo Meadows (I like the ending section, but the rest of the course is boring) 25. GCN Peach Beach (Another boring track but the atmosphere and music are from ok to good) 24. Daisy Circuit (The best definition of a mediocre track. I like the sunset and the shortcuts are cool, but it's very flat) 23. GCN Mario Circuit (The first ok track in the list. Does not feel that flat and the ending is much more fun than in other tracks) 22. N64 DK's Jungle Parkway (Music is a huge disappointment, I mean it fits but it's way too repetitive, sounds like the tune is only 5 seconds long and it's looped over and over, but the track design is awesome. The rest is mid) 21. SNES Ghost Valley 2 (I really like speedrunning on this track. The atmosphere is good and the mechanic of falling blocks is clever) 20. N64 Mario Raceway (Out of all the Mario Circuit tracks in this game, I think this is the best of them. I like the N64 theme way more than the others and the design is ok) 19. DS Peach Gardens (I have never been a big fan of this track. It's very fun to play, but I sometimes forgot it existed until it came back to MK8DX. Originally I had this as number 24 but now I like it more, so it earned this spot) 18. Toad's Factory (Another track I'm not a big fan of. Probably Mushroom Gorge overshadowed this one way too much. I really like the music and the details but some parts for me were a bit annoying sometimes. Got it one spot lower (at 19) originally) 17. GBA Bowser Castle 3 (Out of all the super flat retro tracks, I think this is the best of them. I like all the tricking oportunities and the atmosphere is great for a GBA track that isn't in MK8DX) 16. DS Desert Hills (Before you kill me with this one, read this. When I was young and got MKDS I played the Flower Cup instead of the Mushroom Cup first, so this track ends up being the first Mario Kart track I've ever played. Not the most impressive track of all time, but I always liked racing here. By the way, I really like desert courses in general, the only one I don't like being GCN Dry Dry Desert. To me, one of the most underrated tracks in the series) 15. Coconut Mall (Another track I think it's overrated. I really like the concept but the ending was annoying as hell to me. Not in the level of Wario's Gold Mine of course. The music here is one of my favourites, but the ending makes this track earn this spot to me) 14. N64 Sherbet Land (Another type of track I like a lot are the ice/snow tracks, except for SNES Vanilla Lake 2, GBA Snow Land (GBA version, remake in MK8DX is amazing) and Merry Mountain. This one is challenging and the ice physics are much better than in other games. It's flat, but has a concept of track that is way more clever and it looks really preety. Overall, good track) 13. DK Summit (From now on, we enter the really great tracks, so I had to rank them based in my personal taste and how much fun I had with them. If this track is the lowest, imagine how much fun I had with the others. Snow is fun and any track with a cannon is directly great (N64DKJP does not have cannon. It's a ramp that acts like it, but it's not)) 12. DS Delfino Square (Another very nostalgic track for me, for almost the same reasons as Desert Hills. It's still fun to race on and the trick that can be performed on that bridge is awesome) 11. GCN Waluigi Stadium (I love the inclusion of the ramps and half-pipes. The music is great and the theme is awesome. Waluigi tracks are really great) 10. Moonview Highway (All the Special Cup is in the Top 10. This track is really fun and I like to take all those boosts. The music makes me feel like being in a highway. It's Toad's Turnpike done right) 9. Grumble Volcano (Another track with a unique concept. Every track feels different and I love that) 8. GCN DK Mountain (Another track with a cannon that is fun. It's like DK Summit, but feels less linear and has more obstacles) 7. Dry Dry Ruins (What did I say about desert tracks? It has a similar concept to Grumble Volcano in the sense that every lap feels a bit different and I like how it forces players to use the game's main core mechanic (the half-pipes)) 6. Rainbow Road (Not my favourite Rainbow Road track, but definately a very memorable one. In fact, only MK7's Rainbow Road and the MK8DX's version of N64 Rainbow Road are better than this one in my opinion) 5. N64 Bowser's Castle (My favourite Retro Track in the game is the hardest one. This track is certainly a great challenge to end the last cup and it's more polished than all the other retro tracks) 4. Bowser's Castle (This is my favourite Bowser's Castle in the series. The one that is the most varied, the most challenging and the most unique) 3. Mushroom Gorge (I never thought a Mushroom Cup track would earn the bronze medal, but this track did it. Bouncing is the most fun thing in the game and this track introduces all the tricking players can do in the best way possible) 2. Maple Treeway (Another cannon track that is really fun. Most people has this as number 1, but it was close for me. The design is one of the best I've seen in a racing game) 1. Koopa Cape (My favourite track in the game and one of my favourites in the series. This track has the most amount of obstacles that are fun and not annoying. Driving on the water stream is the most fun thing in the world and entering the pipe is satisfying)
It’s not a bad track, I like the scenery, the music is charming. This track isn’t memey, it’s not good for some vehicles, but it’s not bad in all ways. I also find it somewhat underrated compared to tracks like DK Summit, Dry Dry Ruins and Delfino Square I think those tracks are somewhat overrated.
Replace Yoshi Falls with Shroom Ridge or Waluigi Pinball and it gets better for me, no offense but Yoshi Falls in my opinion is one of the worst tracks in MKWii, it is very boring and the music is not entertaining in the slightest.
