I love this underrated gem to no end. But my jaw hit the floor when I saw the board flip over in Donkey Kong's Crash Course, I had no idea there was a second course.
Transformation bits Idk who will use this but someone will use it eventually 0:03 Octopus dance 1:05 Captain Foucans twister race 2:15 Balloon trip breeze 3:07 Yoshi's fruit cart 3:55 Takamarus ninja castle 4:55 The Legend of Zelda Battle quest 6:25 Pikmin Adventure 7:18 Mario Chase 8:25 Animal Crossing sweet day 9:40 Luigi's ghost mansion 10:51 Donkey Kong's crash course 12:48 Metroid Blast
I miss this game so much! I remember playing that toad minigame and the Luigi's Mansion minigame. The Donkey Kong one was fun too, but I only played it a little bit. But by far, I played the Zelda one the most. I loved flicking around the Wiimote thing with the sword when I was like, 6. Felt like I was actually some sort of knight at the time.
In retrospect it's probably a game that I'd consider better than everything before it, but it's a close call between that & the Legend of Zelda attraction!
3:24 Finally, someone who pronounces Yoshi correctly! Also, it's great to see more content on this now decade-old and unfairly obscure game since it's such a fun experience to play - I've never played a local multiplayer game quite like this before it or after. My favourite thing about it is how each minigame is so fleshed-out in terms of unlockables that most have their own post-game to them, as well as the fact that each game has 5 achievements in the form of stamps (although these range from ridiculously easy to *"don't hit **_ANYTHING_** for the **_ENTIRETY_** of F-Zero game* glhf lololol").
Can I just point out the fact that he immediately got into it and didn’t plug 3 ads and tell us to subscribe in the first 20 seconds of the video, respect
I actually just bought a Wii U secondhand a few months ago and picked Nintendo Land up dirt cheap. Even in single-player this game has a lot to offer, and it's so overflowing with personality that I can't help but love it. Eight years ago Nintendo was a very different company with a very different guy at the top.
For sure, the energy and development to a lot of the 2013-2016 Nintendo games feel so special, often for good and sometimes for bad. Definitely hold a lot of fondness for it!
A lot of people consider Balloon Fight & Yoshi to be worse than how I fared them compared to Octopus Dance + F-Zero, so it's fascinating seeing how different opinions are on the lower-rated ones
@@LukerYT i actually loved the f-zero game and was quite good at it, and I have so much nostalgia for the Zelda game playing with my 4 siblings, it’s probably because we had the perfect amount of players for the games (5), and nostalgia, but this is one of my favorite games of all time, and I don’t think we should compare it to Wii sports as much as you did, because those are meant to be versus games and Nintendo land is supposed to be fun mini games not a full fledged out game like you describe some of the things you compare them too
Hey this video seems to consistently be doing well in my daily views - I don't think it has aged particularly well but I appreciate all the people coming by and watching it!
My ranking would be: 12. Octopus Dance 11. Ninja castle 10. Baloon Flight 9. Fruit Cart 8. Animal Crossing 7. DK Crash Course 6. Captain Falcon (Its high up because i grinded this trying to beat it for days) 5. Luigis Mansion 4. Mario Chase 3. Pikmin 2. Legend of Zelda 1. Metroid
cant help to say that Mario Chase is defo in the top 3 for me. Something about playing with 5 people and chasing each other around like lunatics was so fun!
I like how some Nintendo land attractions actually have their own story, like how in the ninja castle one; you are a ninja and you have to save the princess who has been kidnapped by other ninjas (sorry if I got anything wrong it’s 1 am for me rn)
Ive always felt Nintendoland really had some great ideas they could expand out in to full length games. The Ninja star shooter game could easily get a couple more hours and levels of gameplay and maybe some unique projectiles to unlock. Same with the Balloon game. So uniquely Nintendo in their style/art.
I'm not even into Metroid at all, but Metroid Blast is such a hit. With the amount of quality content, modes, and replayability, it almost feels like a proper standalone game!
I realized like a week later that I should probably share my thoughts too. So: 12. Balloon Trip Breeze 11. Captain Falcon's Twister Race 10. Animal Crossing: Sweet Day 9. The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest 8. Octopus Dance 7. Takumaru's Ninja Castle 6. Yoshi's Fruit Cart 5. Mario Chase 4. Metroid Blast 3. Donkey Kong's Crash Course 2. Pikmin Adventure 1. Luigi's Ghost Mansion 6-8 pretty much vary depending on my mood.
Pretty fair list. I love thr acknowledgement you gave to Donkey Kong's Crash Course. Unlocking the secret stage was a pretty amazing thing it its moment. Good to see some acknowledgement of Nintendo Land in general.
@@andressuarez1728 true true, I have gone back and bought all of those games in the time since I posted this. And now all of them are on my steam deck 😆
My list: 12-Ballon Trip Breeze Too boring, repetitive and these stupid pigeons faster than light 11-Animal Crossing Sweet Day Not very interested in this game, I prefer the Mario game 10-Yoshi's fruit cart Good but these moving fruits are almost impossible to reach (and its boring) 9- Captain Falcon's Twister Race Pretty fun, i love the controls 8-Mario Chase Simple concept, but very fun to play with friends 7-Octopus Dance I really like the music and the gameplay, would be higher if you could play it without TV 6-The Legend Of Zelda Battle Quest Very cool controls, very good music, the only problem is that there are TOO MANY MONSTERS WHY 5-Takamarus Ninja Castle The controls are so unique and the environments are awesome, there are also several kinds of ninjas like the OP black ninja 4-Pikmin Adventure Multiplayer is so fun, the musics and environnements are incredible 3-Luigi's Ghost Mansion I got jumpscared multiples times by the ghost, but its so funny, scary and awesome (and there are 5 maps instead of 3) 2-Metroid Blast Its just a minigame but its x10 better than Metroid Prime Federation Force, there are so mant things to do: 20 missions, 10 advanced missions, really good multiplayer (sad that i dont have Wii motion plus) 1-Donkey Kong's Crash Course Nothing can outclass this game, Its a masterpiece. So addictive, so cool and i love to speedrun all the 4 levels. Best mini game without a doubt. If you are still here, thanks for reading
The man did just that - To its credit though, Mario Chase was the point where all the remaining games were _very_ hard to place because I fucking love it.
Seriously? Metroid Blast at top 1!? When I had Nintendo Land(I say had cuz the disk broke down) my family and I couldn't play metroid blast because it needed the nunchuck, so yeah i lost the experience of the top 1 minigame.
My ranking would probably be 12. Octopus dance 11. Yoshi game 10. Balloon thing 9. Race thing 8. Candy collecting 7. Mario chase 6. Donkey kongs crash course 5. Ninja thing 4. Metroid blast 3. Luigis ghost mansion 2. Pikmin 1. Zelda battle quest Top 3 is biased because they made great childhood memories for me and my sister
Lots of wtf moments for me, but still a great video. I have at least a thousand hours on this game and endless memories. Here's my personal ranking of the attractions after beating all of them. 12. Fruit Cart 11. Octopus Dance 10. Balloon Flight 9. F-Zero 8. Legend of Zelda 7. Animal Crossing 6. Ninja Castle 5. Luigi's Mansion 4. Donkey Kong 3. Mario Chase 2. Metroid Blast 1. Pikmin Lmk what you think, love this game to bits!
THE DK GAME HAS MORE THEN ONE LEVEL!? Why and how am I only NOW figuring this out!? …oh right, it’s Becuase I never got even close to the end of level one… that’s why…
I completely agree with Twister race getting 11th. You could be doing so well in the game at like gate 7 and suddenly your vehicle does a complete 180 screwing everything up.
Octopus dance is not that bad, the extra stage is actually fun, and funny at the same time because you see the lil'octopus following a line with the 3 miis on the tv, not counting your's and then Monita with other 3, oh, and btw, you can shrink the mini octopus by touching him in the gamepad, which makes him shoot less ink, but grows immediately after, so you must react quickly Why do I remember this? I found my Wii U and the game and I said to myself: "Why not?" Also, you can know if he will throw ink if he's floating or not.
This game is so nostalgic for me. I remember not liking the octopus game as a kid because I was so bad at it lol, and my game pad would always disconnect in the F-Zero and Ninja game which sucked. But I agree that Metroid Blast is the best, I played that one so much with my mum same with the Pikmin one. I really hope this game comes to switch or gets a sequel.
Damn I didn't know donkey kong's minigame got a lot of love. As a kid I couldn't even get past the first level. It was probably the only thing I feared trying to do in any Nintendo game. I loved balloon ride though personally. Incredibly satisfying to land yourself perfectly in the middle every time. Sad to see Zelda so low though :(
Ah, I've not seen many fans of that one! I admittedly didn't get that great an impression because of my connection issues, but after playing it again a little bit I will say it is better than I think I gave it credit!
Whooooooaaaaa Metroid #1?? Baaad take... The way I was like, oh man Luigi's Mansion and Donkey Kong are 2 and 3, so number one must be amazing! And then you pull out Metroid, which I completely forgot was in this. That's how unremarkable it was.
I like Balloon Trip Breeze the best, Yoshi Cart the second best, and Octopus Dance the third best. Most of the other games I'm not that into, but I can go back and replay those three all the time. I grew up with the first two Balloon Fight games on NES and Game Boy, so getting a full on Balloon Fight sequel in Nintendo Land was such a joy to me. I know it's an old gameplay style, but it just made me so happy to play. Makes the whole package worth it to me I know Octopus Dance is difficult, frustrating, and can make you feel stupid for messing up, but it's the big show stopping number! How can you not love it? :) Fun video on a classic game. :)
Hey if there’s a second player on the Wii U the second player can make the squid that shoots Inc smaller by shooting it. And collect hearts that you lose.
I'm a bit late but i'll say my ranking anyways 12. Balloon Trip Breeze 11. Takamaru's Ninja Castle 10. The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest 9. Animal Crossing: Sweet Day 8. Yoshi's Fruit Cart 7. Pikmin Adventure 6. Captain Falcon's Twister Race 5. Luigi's Ghost Mansion 4. Metroid Blast 3. Octopus Dance 2. Donkey Kong's Crash Course 1. Mario Chase I will say that the top 6 was a bit hard to make because i really like all of these
