I like how when talking about shulk in palutena classic mode, he didnt actually spoil the game, because if you played it you know why shulk is in there
13:17 I believe that also Dracula been an undead creature (a vampire) makes sense for Pac-Man since he constantly fights against undead creatures (ghosts).
Well... Having to hear her talk about how Interesting the movie she saw on TV was for the 20th time when you boot up New Horizons for the first time during the day is not very pleasant.
I think it's also worth noting the specific pairing of Pikachu and Zero Suit Samus in Greninja's Classic Mode could be a reference to them teaming up in Subspace (or it could just be a stretch)
also, at one point, sephiroth gaslights cloud into thinking he is a clone. while he is not artificially created, for a good chunk of the game, everyone thinks he is
The Robin vs Robin fight in Robin's classic mode being a reference to the Grima battle is moreso cemented by the fact that the stage music, Id Purpose, is Awakening's final map theme, and specifically the choice of killing Grima with Robin triggers one of the endings
Aaron, you missed ONE thing about the Link and Zelda fight in Palutena's route... seeing as it deals with gods, Zelda is the reincarnation of Hylia, the goddess who pretty much became mortal
@@FurryBayo I’m assuming you’ve played Bayonetta but I hope I’m not spoiling anything. But time travelled Cereza bugging Bayonetta and calling her mummy.
@@furby9284 I actually know about that, it's just that your comment was worded weird. So I didnt understand at first. Also to prove that I've played bayonetta allow me to fill you in on something. Whenever Bayonetta's Dad pops up in her head saying "no harm will come to you" or "I'm always watching over you my dear sweet child" he isnt talking to Bayonetta, but he is talking to Cereza.
Let me tell you, it would have been really cool if Sakurai and the team updated Cloud's classic mode to have him fight Sephiroth. Also, is it me or have I seen this video before?
I know what you mean, actually. I remember a few days ago turning on RU-vid and seeing what I recognized around Minute 7. Could just be a deja vu though.
20:11 I think that alongside the light/dark color scheme, this fight is a reference to Corrin's sisters. Peach and Rosalina represent Elise and Camilla while Daisy and Palutena represent Sakura and Hinoka
I always thought a mii fighters route would mainly be them fighting fighters of their respective styles. Brawler would fight characters like Ryu, Little Mac, etc. Swordfighter has plenty of sword fighting characters to pick from. Gunner could fight characters like Samus, Mega Man, etc. That was my thought at least.
I'd personally like to see the Mii Fighters have customizable routes per each created Mii Fighter. Would add even more extra replayability, and if counting them is an issue you could just count the scores for one for each type.
BONUS FACTS: Little Max's first fight is a reference to the Incineroar trailer. Zero Suit (and Samus in general) is often paired with Pikachu in the fandoms thanks to Brawl, so her being in the Pikachu section of Greninja's CM makes sense. MH and CH make PERFECT sense for Palutana's Route since they are Gods themselves. Considering how Marth (and Roy) debuted in Melee in the West, MH and CH most likely is a playful nod to that(?). MH and CH are light and dark characters respectively, so Corbin's boss makes sense. Plus they are W H I T E . "Ivysaur has no other Grass fighters" Piranha Plant: Am I a Joke to you?
I just want to add something: I think Cloud's classic mode route is totally associated to his motion sickness since the french name for his route his literally called "motion sickness"
"Next up is Ivysaur, for the Grass-type, and he's a loser idiot who has no friends with him." Pirahna Plant's like "Yo dawg, I said I'm on my way, I just didn't make the bus!"
Megaman in shulks route may also represent all the monado arts coming together and the ability to switch between them, since you can switch weapons in mega man
Pac-Man's Classic mode also has two other cool details. 1. In the fight against Duck Hunt, no music plays in the background. As far as I am aware, this is the only time in the entire game where there would be no music in the background for any specific fight. This is nice nod, since the original Duck Hunt game never had any music play in gameplay outside of the occasional jingles, which is handled by the Duck Hunt stage itself. 2. To hammer-in the "original" versions of stuff, the Dracula fight has another cool detail. Normally, the music in the background would be "Nothing to Lose" (phase 1), into "Black Night" (phase 2). However in Pac-Man's Classic mode, "Dwelling of Doom" plays for both phases. Not only it is a retro theme directly taken from the classic game, but it is specifically the Famicom version of the song. Fun fact: I also distinctly remember an earlier build of the game, whether it was the pre-release version or an early patch, where the "Dwelling of Doom" nod didn't work properly. It would play "Dwelling of Doom" on phase 1, but then it would transition into "Black Night" in phase 2. Obviously, this would be fixed later.
I can explain some of the reasons why Master Hand and Crazy Hand were used for these routes; Villager: You wouldn't expect normal-looking hands to be good weapons against the likes of swords and firearms. Little Mac: Hands are used in sparring. Greninja: Perhaps they represent the Normal-Type, which are the basic type in Pokémon games. Palutena: Keeping in theme with the divine aspect, Master Hand and Crazy Hand are somewhat seen as gods in the Smash Universe, with the former as the force of Creation and the latter as the force of Destruction. Robin: They both use electric and fire-based attacks in their moves. Shulk: This could *vaguely* be a reference to Zanza, the true antagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles. Bowser Jr.: I got nothing. Cloud: Possibly a vague reference to Jenova? Corrin: Although the route focuses on White vs. Black, both Master Hand and Crazy Hand fit slightly as a theme of opposing ideologies; Creation vs. Destruction.
I still hate that Shulk does not have Galleom as the final boss. It would suit because Galleom is a robot and Shulk has a hatred towards robots in Xenoblade chronicles
Shulk route sucks Instead of making based in the monado arts they could have done based in XC1 lore With 2 final bosses (i mean Sephiroth it's just Bosses) Galleon first and the real final boss would be Master & Crazy Hand and a withe shulk alt (The "Z" guy If ya know what i mean)
For Corrin’s classic mode: In the third battle, Rosalina and Peach are likely meant to represent Camilla and Elise, respectively, as they are Nohrian princesses who aid Corrin should they choose to side with Nohr, hence the dark-colored alts. In contrast, the opposite-gendered Corrin, who represents a Corrin who sided with Hoshido, is aided by Hinoka and Sakura, two Hoshidan princesses who act as Camilla and Elise’s counterparts and are represented by Palutena and Daisy, respectively. Having Daisy represent Sakura is kinda funny since both of their names are also the names of flowers. The second-to-last battle is doing something similar; however, instead of the princesses, the Corrins are being aided by the princes, and the Corrin that the player is controlling has sided with Hoshido instead of Nohr. The Hoshidan princes, Ryoma and Takumi, are being represented by Chrom and Marth, respectively; having Chrom be Ryoma is particularly clever since they have the same voice actor. Now, Lucina and Robin represent the Nohrian princes, Xander and Leo; however, Lucina really should’ve been replaced by Ike here given that Xander is male and both him and Ike wield large legendary swords. Robin as Leo is a great choice, though, given that both of them are tacticians who wield magic and even have similar personalities. And master hand and crazy hand aren’t the worst boss in the world considering that the true villain of FE:Fates is often represented as a disembodied head and has the power to control and resurrect literally anyone (kinda like having the player control the character in smash and respawning) and also starts wars (the battles in smash themselves). Still, I think that fighting a giant Ganondorf with the white hair skin, and having that being followed up with Rathalos would’ve been a better boss fight.
Another thing to point out for Cloud’s Classic Mode is that not only are (almost) all battles on vehicle based stages, but all of the fighters here have controlled some mode of transportation - even the Mario characters with karts.
9:26 The Mirror of Truth can create exact copies of the reflected person; the Dark Pit is the way he is is because he's an incomplete clone of Pit from the destroying the mirror while being reflected
Yeah since its the only NES/Famicom Kirby game existed and it fits perfectly, however they should of picked The Fountain of Dreams than GB Dream Land stage instead.
The Ken and Ryu vs Master Hand battle is more than likely a reference to the "Dramatic Battle" mode in the Street Fighter Alpha series, where two players could take on fights at the same time in co-op.
Dark Link was also first formed as a test for Link in Zelda 2, he appeared next as a mirror creation from the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, and his last official appearance was in one of the 4 Swords games in which he was also created by Vaati. So yeah, that's all 3
The hands being Corrin's final boss makes sense as they're both white colored while the fight before is against black colored foes and it was alternating between white and black from the start with white being the odd numbered fights and black being evens (G&W combining both being an exception).
I love the constant bashing of the hands boss fight through out the series. My favorite is Greninja's "and finally against your favorite pkmn type, hand type".
Unrelated but, hear me out: I think it would be absolutely fitting if Crash's potential reveal trailer was used with the same formating for the _King K Rool / Banjo and Kazooie Reveal Trailers_ where they first showed off a slideshow of Protagonist vs. Antagonist of Smash Bros, and then cut into DK's treehouse, then pranked us for who will be added, and then reveal. What I believe makes this very likely to happen is because we recently got an antagonist fighter: *Sephiroth.* And every time we have one of those reveal trailers another slide is added; for the Banjo Kazooie reveal, it was DK and Diddy vs K Rool (who is a Smash Ultimate exclusive antagonist, just like Sephiroth.) So if we were to get another slide added, it'll most likely be Cloud vs Sephiroth. Another thing to mention is that whenever K rool and Banjo and Kazooie got revealed, there's someone pranking them as a little joke; for K Rool, it was King Dedede. For Banjo Kazooie, Duck Hunt. So if someone from the Smash Brothers cast was to prank Donkey Kong and the gang, I'd have to guess and say it would be Fox. Also, a connection that K Rool, Banjo and Kazooie, and Crash have in common (besides all being animals 🐊🐻🦜) is that they were all highly recommended characters to be added as a fighter in Smash Bros history. A final statement and most logical reason of why Crash should join Smash... _we have no animal character in Fighter's Pass 2_ Please spread the word if you can. I'm trying my best to inform people about this because I may be on to something and it just feels like it's gonna happen, ESPECIALLY with E3 on it's way. I really hope this brings people hope! ♥️
Fun question, if characters outside the Smash roster became puppet fighters for Galeem and Dharkon. Who would the two deities claim? I could see Galeem having * Yu Narukami * Knuckles the Echidna * Klaymen * Bandana Dee * Tails * Izuku, Ochako, Tenya, and Shouto * Banjo and Kazooie * Rayman * Ruby Rose * Optimus Prime * Regime!Superman * Waluigi * Shovel Knight * Spongebob * Magalor * Geno * Copy X While Dharkon has * Gooey * Cuphead * Henry Stickmin * AoSTH!Robotnik * Angry Video Game Nerd * SMBZ!Metallix * Mimikyu * The Heavy * Hat Kid * Monokuma * The Knight * Onslaught * Joker * Mad Rat * Wart
17:10 I think it’s also a funny way of saying that Duck *Hunt* is promoting itself to Monster *Hunter* . As if the stars weren’t aligned enough, the fight takes place on a plain, grassy field.
The horde battle against Pit/Dark Pit could also be a reference to the Light vs. Dark multiplayer Mode (where it's 3v3 and when the team is on its last legs, one player becomes Pit/Dark Pit)
Zero Suit Samus teaming with Pikachu and Pichu is probably also a call back to Subspace Emissary where Zero Suit Samus rescues Pikachu and they team up. I think Ryu's Classic Mode is brilliant. DK representing Blanka is super appropriate because I utterly despise both of those characters. Ryu and Ken teaming up might also be a reference to the Dramatic Battle mode in the Street Fighter Alpha games, where you can have a CPU partner fight with you against the A.I.
I think Palutena's fight against 3 Pits and Dark Pits might actually be a reference to KI:U multiplayer, where there's a light team and dark team consisting of three players each who are basically Pits and Dark Pits with a more human coat of paint.
You know, I think there may be a little more to Dracula being Pac-Man's Classic Mode boss than what was said in the video; Dracula's a vampire, and vampires are normally seen as spooky beings. You know what else is considered spooky? Why, ghosts of course! And aside from pellets, what is Pac-Man known for chomping on the most? Again, ghosts! With all that said, it made too much sense for Pac-Man's Classic Mode boss to end up being Dracula. I'm really glad the devs didn't just have him face off against Master Hand and Crazy Hand like most of the roster because of that!
Extra detail about Palutena vs Link and Zelda: 3 of Zelda’s specials are abilities related to the Golden Goddesses (Din’s Fire, Nayru’s Love, and Farore’s Wind).
Imagine if DLC changed classic modes. Cloud's final battle could have been Sephiroth. Villager could have fought Steve. Bowser Jr could have fought Minmin or Pythra. Duck hunt could have fought Banjo and Kazooie.
They could have made Metal Face the last boss in Shulk's classic route because he's literally a stage hazard in Gaur Plains. Yes, I'm aware Metal Face is just a side antagonist in Xenoblade 1 after some point in the story, but who cares.
2:20 Samus has a similar color pallet to Metal Man and their helmets are red. That's basically all they have in common. 2:34 Quick Man and Captain Falcon also both have red helmets as it would happen except theirs also both have yellow adornments that curve at similar angles.
18:38 Well the route's _name_ clearly references his motion sickness. I feel sorry for the guy in OO, constantly having to ride airships to get to each torosion.
still like the fact for Street Fighter that 4 characters had their names changed Akuma used to be called Gouki M. Bison used to be called Vega Vega used to be called Balrog Balrog used to be called M.Bison (or actually, Micheal Bison)
Poor Ivysaur. If only Piranha Plant had been in the base game, then he could have had a friend. Greninja's Classic Mode should have ended with Rathalos, representing the dragon type.
Greninja's route was close to being clever. Ivysaur should've had Olimar & Pikmin with him (and a should've been updated to include Pihranna Plant). And the last fight should've been either Marx with Jigglypuff (Fairy Type) or with Dark Samus, Dark Pit and Dracula (Dark Type)
Meta Knight being in Ryu's classic mode is probably also a reference to Meta Knight fighting with honor and wishing to fight the strongest warrior in the galaxy (Galacta Knight)
6:40 Zero Suit Samus is there to represent Citro, the Gym Leader of the Lumiose Gym (which is the Prism Tower from the XY games as Greninja). He wears a blue suit and has blonde hair. Also his team is based on the electric type. The only thing I don’t understand is why they picked that stage instead of the Prism Tower.
In clouds, rainbow cruise is probably referencing the party using a boat to cross the continents and arrive at isla del sol, corneria might be Cids airplane since it's connected to space while not being there but it's a bit of a stretch
I don't mind waiting until the DLC for Smash Ultimate is over because that will be serving as an epic finale to this series with all the characters that are new to the Smash series via Smash Ultimate.
For those who didn't know it's surprisingly possible for Mega Man to surpass Yoshi in terms of 9.9 Classic Mode scores - by spamming your opponents with nearly all of Mega Man's special attacks. Metal Man's metal blade especially for Galleom. (Just don't count on perfecting the Mega Man horde in the sixth round)
6:38 I like to think that zero suit samus is with pikachu and Pichu because of the subspace emissary and kind of like a trainer ( and cause of her moves )
5:47 I think the mii brawler fight where there are 3 normal fighters and one dressed up one, is a reference to punch out Wii. In punch out Wii there are several circuits that little mac has to go through. each circuit has 3 normal fighters and a champion at the end, that need to be defeated to enter the next circuit. also the flying man mii costumes colors has a slight resemblance to that of king hippo who was the champion of the first circuit in punch out Wii Edit: perhaps the flying man costume could also be a reference to Don Flamenco who was the champion of the 2nd circuit, and flamenco sounds like flamingo which is a bird
You know what would have made sense for Villager's end classic mode boss fight? Marx would have made a lot of sense, because without his demon powers, he's just this jester who dances on his ball
Round 6 of Duck Hunt's route against the other 6 Duck Hunts on the Living Room stage is a clever reference to Nintendogs. Also, I wish they'd update Greninja's route to include Piranha Plant with Ivysaur...
