He surely does, those kickflips are what I like the most. Sick pop and getting height, I just don't like how hard he brings the board down xD You should catch it with confidence but I'm scared his board will get fucked up every time he brings it down haha!
I actually love this video. For the most part most videos teaching a kickflip are the same. Seeing people do it their way and all the slight variations is refreshing
@@5klicktone I really don’t care too much about it right now. I just like ollie’ing steps and stuff. Figure if I can perfect an Ollie, tricks will come easier.
I like the direction of this channel. I think it's really awesome how John just sends a video challenge to his buddies and they just make it work. The only thing I think is missing is an introduction to who everyone is. I know John is putting their @'s when they first appear, but that doesn't really help us learn their names, or who they are. It would be cool to see some videos in the future of the individuals working on a trick they really love and talking to the camera a bit so the audience gets a feeling for who each person is.
he pops really high and catches the board before it loses momentum, while its still going up, instead of just landing on it, thats what makes it look so cool
I love this about skateboarding. just like a hitter's swing in baseball - we obsess over the efficiency and the look of the thing. balancing power and personality in the movement. so cool.
A good tip I learned is that the further in and lower you put your foot on the board the higher you can pop it. I noticed this when watching jake hayes do kickflips his front foot is almost in heelflip position sometimes.
Irvin has the best looking kick flip. But the big guy has some pop and is smooth. I would love to see John bring his progress daily riders there for some Braille like videos.
This is pretty cool, I feel like heelflips would be more interesting, my front foot is in the same position for kickflips as heelflips for example. Don't know how it works but it does.
It's not just the stance that I like to see differences on, but also how they kick. Some people do more of a ninja kick kinda forward motion, whereas I tend to do more of a ankle "roll" you could say...more like how I do my varial kickflips or a 360 flip.
When they receive their mission from John in the beginning it's like Mission Impossible. "This is your mission if you choose to accept.... blah blah... this message will now self destruct." Lol.
i flick nollie heels with my toe and i set up my feet like a nollie flip. it works i dunno why, skating is all about millimeters and we're all built differently
John Hill increasing his channel, damn man, hope you get a "Analyzing" station. Just where the camera is stationary, the background has a screen with markers, for example 1 feet,2 feet, both on X and Y axis, so you can vary their distance to height ratios, talk about footing, reaction, when you kick as you ollie, and sooner or later I hope you invest into slowmo's. Good luck (also add their links to instagram/tiktok in corner as they land tricks.) P.S. I love when they all started to complain going off the box, then next 2 flips they were like "Damn that was sick" Motivation bois, motivation.
@Ahnya Christieson Why? What would give you that idea? People enjoying a private place to skate= being alone for life must say this equation causes confusion as a matter of fact it doesn't even fit the comment # peculiar
Always tried to get my Kickflips like the dude in Lakai shoes. But i dunno, depends what you're skating. I want a slower kickflip going off something so i'll pop nearer the heel side pocket, if i'm going up something i'll pop in the toe side pocket so it snaps up quicker. Or at least when I could actually skate thats what i'd do.Now i'd be happy if I spun the board around haha
The one guy doing the shallow magic flips is very different from the guy who puts his foot all the way forward. The guy who puts his foot that far forward, you can tell he's kicking harder to make up for the lack of distance. It seems like there would be a happy medium somewhere so you wouldn't have to kick so hard with your foot too far back or too far forward and still get the hight and smoothness.
I am not allowed to say whose kick flip was better, because I can't kick flip (yet), but if I can land one, I would love to land one like @zdgillespy. Just because of the hight. I like how he tucks his knees. Reminds me of my heel flip.
I wonder if the people you skate with have an impact on the way you do certain tricks or if you always just end up doing it the best way it works for you
