Mister Who it suited him the most and I believe sometimes the fans aren’t always right when it comes to champions cause I believed the most deserving people should be Rey Mesterio and Kofi Kingston these people go unrecognized for the amount of time in the business and the passion they put in their work and they deserve to have it more then 14 days.
Finally someone said it! Without a great Heel there is no such thing as an babyface and sometimes the WWE gets this wrong especially when it came to Randy Orton he made a better crazy dude then just about anybody out there. Pushing Batista’s babyface was cool just as he was beating Triple H and going to Smackdown right after. But once he betrayed Rey Mysterio and became Heel they should’ve kept him there cause even at that He made a better heel so he could push other wrestlers who would make better babyface’s then him to win. By then he was there long enough to start pushing other people’s careers, but they kept baby facing him and the fans eventually stopped liking it and I understand that cause by then he would’ve made an better heel after that long anyways just saying.
I would of been happy with a Universal Title sure but what made the WHC vs WWE Championship saga interesting in the brand split was how both looked unique and prestigious against each other it felt like both champions were in a big dick swinging contest proving they have the better belt and they are the better champion Universal Championship vs WWE Championship just feels like: HEY! I got the most prestigious championship in WWE! Well umm... Uhhh OOH I know I GOT The same belt but in roll up form! T_T Honestly reviving the big gold belt for the universal championship as lazy as it was rumored to be would be far more effort than giving us a roll up version of the wwe title
@@ed_vilon668 because they decided to turn it into an honorary belt to award to Ric Flair on this week's Raw, which was kind of heartwarming but yeah. Although personally I rather have the Undisputed title back and have both the Intercontinental title and the United States title as the main belts for each brand.
apparently indie promotion kept on using WHC replica so they retire it to prevent the belt from being associated with small time wrestling promotion. Still, stuff happened elsewhere too, not just wwe. Ever saw the new UFC belt?
Batista doing his legendary pyro entrance with the Heavyweight Title around his waist is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I hear the word "World Heavyweight Championship" irrespective of the promotion
Between 2002-2005, the World Heavyweight Championship was promoted as its premier title, ahead of the WWE Championship (seemingly just because it was on Raw)
Lee Bower incorrect AJ Styles, Sting, Hardy, Beer Money, Homicide/Hernandez, the entire X Division, Jay Lethal, I could go on but 6 sided ring TNA was some very good wrestling
Side-Note: During Benoit's title reign, he had a 60 Minute Iron-Man Match with Triple H on raw. This includes a horrifying chair shot to the back of Benoit's head.
Omg! I freaking loved those beat the clock matches on Smackdown during Edges title reign. They had 3 legit over baby faces that the people would like to see beat the ever living crap out of Edge. of course the commentators were always almost one sided about who would win and make it seem like the heel had no chance and was just an obstacle lol
@@timmymoore6544 so did Edge but he was the ultimate opportunest that's why he is the record 7 time World Heavyweight championship and he is my favourite
I think of Batista and HHH when the heavy weight title comes to mind. That rivalry really did bring meaning to that title in its early years. And Edge overall as I feel like he’s the best heavy weight champion
Before watching the video I was like "Edge better be pretty high-up in this list" and he was the 1st! What a career and what a champion. The heel ruler of smackdown in his prime. Everybody my age used to cheer for Jeff Hardy but I used to support Edge even when he was the bad guy. Good times.
He really was one of the greatest heels of all time. I hated him growing up since I was a huge undertaker fan but now as an adult I have high respect for him for what he’s done. Definitely one of my favorite rivalries to which was with edge and undertaker.
I’m just going to assume we’re the same age and I was never a fan of Jeff Hardy. He’s great as a high flyer, but that’s all he offers. He sucks on the mic, and if he’s not doing death defying stunts, he can’t really work a match either. Just my opinion
That’s what geeks are supposed to do. You can never really make a great babyface without building a great heel. That’s the reason Chris Benoit got so over.
Even so, you have to give HHH some credit; He DID make that title feel extremely important in every single feud, which made it all the better when Benoit, Batista, Goldberg, or hell even young Randy dethroned him.
definitely, but the spinner belt was for cena, much like the smoking skull belt that Stone Cold once had; the difference of course is that Austin's skull belt was fucking awesome wheras the spinner thing sucked
The spinner belt worked on Cena with the Dr of Thuganomics gimmick, and sortof for Edge too, but that's pretty much it. I guess the Miz as a heel but it never really looked right on anyone but Cena, which is unfortunate. They really should've changed the design after Cenas Dr of Thuganomics gimmick ended
@@fangsabre it looked almost better on orton than cena to me. Looked ok on Jeff and punk It was the best selling belt by far which is why WWE didn’t want to change it and kept it so long
@@KnucklesWTD the best selling belt to this day is stone colds smoking skull title. The sales on that item alone eclipse most other wrestlers entire merchandise sales.
Edge is the best as a heel champ or a face champ no question he could defend it against anyone in any match Batista is a legend tho no question but Edge>
They should do a TNA World Title ranking... I mean its been around for 12 years now... Holy shit the TNA world title is now older in life span than the WHC O_O That is depressing
What about when it was in wcw that would make a decent video don"t even remember All the different world champs and times this one or that had the title who Agrees?!!
I'm glad Edge got number 1 he is my fave superstar of all time and if anyone thinks that's a bad choice in the words of Pacitti 'fight me' but nah I love Edge he is amazing.
Batista was my favorite literally the first wwe match I ever seen was with my step dad and it was when Batista slammed triple h and ric flair through the tables and evolution broke up I was hooked from then to 2011
Batista was great man I just wish he had a better run in 2014 and people didn't act so childish and immature. He was my childhood hero and man that Pyro entrance with the wolrd championship is legendery.
Yeah miles away HHH is only given much opportunity because he banging the owner' s daughter. HHH must not be included here. He's boring. Never a fan of that bum.
Batista gets knocked down a notch for not being in one of if not the best WrestleMania matches of all time or any 5 star matches for that matter. Also Triple H is a better wrestler than Batista.
I loved Christian’s second World Heavyweight Championship reign. The first was terrible due to it only being 5 days long. Christian’s heel character was amazing and the whole “one more match” schtick was good as well. I’ll probably get heat for this, but before the feud with Randy Orton, I didn’t buy Christian as a main eventer. This was Christian at his finest
I actually really liked how they worked the first one. I remember spoilers and footage going up before smackdown aired. The internet went mad. But I wasn't worried because all the post match was on Christian not on Orton. It was about how Christian had made a mistake in accepting the match against Orton on no notice and he'd lost it in a blink of an eye. It's about the story not the accolade. And besides he won it again within the story.
I used to love the RA Era Christian gimmick when he’d walk around with Tomko by his side. Loved his theme, and he got over good as a heel. This would’ve been my time to give him the World Title.
In my opinion, Sheamus had an awesome world heavyweight championship reign. His extreme rules match against Daniel Bryan and royal rumble match against ziggler and his his final match against bigshow, which was an absolute hidden gem of a wrestling match.
@@ZekeAizaSayZiaLeon oh hell no, when Triple H had the big gold championship in evolution he made the audience there and at home think that the big gold was Triple H’s biggest possession. Triple H made his character act like he was crazy abt the belt, triple H made the belt prestigious
@Versatile Wolf Of course on my all time wrestler list I have Edge above Batista but we are talking World heavyweight champion and who we see when we look at that belt. For me when I look at that belt I think of Batista.
Sharjeel Ahmed That was great but let’s not forget how predictable that was compared to when Benoit won in WMXX. People probably would’ve rioted if Daniel Bryan hadn’t won’t. Also, it wasn’t the first time Daniel Bryan won those titles while Benoit won the WHC title for the first time ever.
@@sharjeelahmed7913 storyline is better but not the match, benoit won his first world belt in wwe whereas wwe made Bryan champion ONLY because Fans wanted to.
I love your guys ranking videos! I think it’d be cool if you guys ranked superstars title ranks, like “ranking all of John cenas championship reigns from worst to best” and you could do that with a ton of superstars
With all due respect to Triple H (my favorite wrestler of all time) but the legacy of the WHC goes to Edge. He was forced to retire too young and was excellent in the ring and on the mic.
EDGE TRIPLE H BATISTA RANDY ORTON CHRIS JERICHO Pretty much carried different parts of the Ruthless Agression era on Raw, at least before the draft picks
The Big Gold Belt is a massive piece of hardware that only a few could really make their own. Batista and Undertaker are among those few who make the belt not only look natural, but like it was made for them. Edge also belongs in this category but for me it's always The Dead Man
I still enjoy Chris Benoit's matches despite what he did. I appreciate him as an in ring performer and whatever happened outside of that was deplorable and tragic. He was still an amazing performer though
Sir Michael thank you I enjoyed it too and it was well over due! Plus it’s pretty much the best title reign they could have gave Kane at that point in his career. Extremely grateful he was FINALLY rewarded that run with the title.
I like how They had two titles and they both match the personalities of the holder at the time Also I was always under the impression World Heavyweight was the more important one based off the Smackdown and Raw competitions during that era
The fact that Adam didn't even mention the Four Way Match at No Mercy 2006 in King Booker's reign tells me just how underrated that match is. Finlay was so good in that match
Exactly, they had Booker looking damn near unbeatable after that match and then the Summerslam match as well as the Cyber Sunday match. I also remember that Teddy turned two No Mercy matches into one, he had to due to the rivalry those 4 were having.
Number 1 better be the Rated R Superstar Edge!!!!!!! If not better be Batista!!!!!!!!!!! Edited: I was right omg Edge one of my faves I'm glad I'm not the only one realizing how great of a World heavyweight Champion he is really was even over HHH amazing star he was
Dont let anybody tell you different. Benoit was amazing. Just because he created some unfortunate circumstances doesnt mean you cant appreciate what he did in the ring. I HATE when they have to apologize about putting Benoit on a list. Like no. He was incredible between the ropes. That's what this channel is about. Nothing changed. Ffs.
No you're not the only one actually Orton is my favourite wrestler of all time as everything about him is great his old & new theme song, his wrestling & his wrestling moves like the punt the DDT, the drop kick ect.... & his finisher the RKO & finaly both his look & his wrestling outfit.
I would love to see you guys do a video like this for the original Women's championship. The outrageous ways in which it was defended, Moolah's decades long title reign, 'Hervina', I think it would be great to see a list looking at the original title, especially before this Wrestlemania
Amazing list and ranking (just like the previous one)! A list of the WCW champions would be amazing, but I think that the best next big thing should be ranking the intercontinental champions from worst to best. Make it happen :D !
Huh I thought there where more than just 25 people as WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion I guess I thought that because most of those people had multiple reigns
A couple things 1. I liked Rey mysterio as world heavyweight champion I don’t care what anyone says 2. Kurt angle was amazing as world heavyweight champion loved his match with Undertaker at no way out 2006 And 3. Did we really need to give triple h countless world heavyweight championships I mean for crying out loud when the title was introduced on raw in 2002 he was handed the title no tournament no match no battle royal we’ll just hand it to triple h because he’s been such a good sport I swear John Cena winning the wwe championship wasn’t this bad it’s like the sun wouldn’t rise unless he wasn’t holding the title even if I started watching in August of 2005 but everytime I watch the dvds and see how many times I was like “Jesus Christ what was with them giving him over a 1000 titles”
