If he turns heel, the fans'll still cheer him on because at this point, after the shit with Dom its understandable. Add in Santos and Carlito for the EXACT Same reason. Rey if he does turn heel is getting Austin Theroy crowd pipes to sell the "fake" heat because he'll still get cheered
@@SuperSayianWarrior Add in Eddie, Batista & even john cena for taking away his championship moment in just 1 night. I don't think seen anybody get betrayed more than rey. I think u have to cheer him after all that lol.
Man got killed by Khali, clapped by his best friend Batista, fought his other best friend in a custody ladder match only for the kid to turn on him years later, bullied by Kane, Big Show etc, WTF DOES THE WORLD HAVE AGAINST REY REY😭😭?
@@briansanchez9859 the fact that he won the world heavyweight championship is you could argue the biggest odds in wrestling ever. But there is no way to book rey as a good world champion without making the rest of your roster look weak
As a Mexican kid growing up watching Rey Mysterio, he was our Cena especially when he won the World Heavyweight Championship. But then to see him time after time get beat and disrespected by what could only be management Vince. The Cena beating him the day he won the WWE Championship for the first time was like the biggest slap in the face to Reys fans.
It doesn't get better even without Vince. The thing is, he is a perfect victim. Someone that can evoke people's sympathy. That's part of his selling point. So as long as he still wrestling for WWE, he will forever get bullied
Me and my brother to this day still are a little bit bitter about that XD Not just because he and I are Hispanic but because it was just disrespectful to the guy
I'm not Mexican but I am small so never got into wrestling(my Dad was into MMA) but I always respected Rey Mysterio for being the only small guy there and of course Ioved the undertaker
I swear Rey Mysterio’s entire career was to make him look like a huge weakling, and as kids, this was VERY effective as many times he got hurt or destroyed, it would make all of us cry, for example when his head got crushed by Great Khali, and he was bleeding, it was heartbreaking to witness. Such wild times these were and it’s crazy that he’s still dealing with this to this day. Poor Rey Rey.☹️
@@pleaseshutup7053 Vince, the Answer is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, he hated Rey for being small and unpresentable in his eyes unlike Cena, or Luger or Hogan, he wanted BIG men huge men, like Jinder Mahal or anyone who was above 6 feet. the only reason why some shorter wrestlers got a chance like Angle or Guerrero was because they were big physically
@@_CrimsonBlade Though I think Evan Bourne was trying to be a real homie to Rey-Rey. If I'm not mistaken, after the Royal Rumble (which Rey wins, obviously), the choice is that Rey either remains a Face, by sticking with Bourne or turns Heel by going with Swagger. And that is after it's revealed that Swagger hit Rey.
The funniest thing about this is that Edge is the only friend that didn't betray him 😂, f**** we're talking about a guy who's "the ultimate opportunist", and yet their rivalry started when Edge was already heel....after being on different rosters for 5 YEARS.
You know, it like leaves me perplexed that Rey HASN'T gone heel because of the constant disrespect throughout his career. Literally the ONLY time he's been a proper HEEL was in Smackdown Vs Raw 2011's Road To WrestleMania (Depending on your story choices)
I'm surprised you didn't mention his rivalry with Mike Knox. Literally the only reason for the rivalry, said by Knox himself: "I don't really know why I attack Rey Mysterio"
Ray is just like Spiderman, an underdog underrated guy but got alot of people who want to harm him. even after all those years he is still out there making little kids smile
Rey Mysterio is the definition of get F*ck by life and it's totally unfair because he was a genuinely lovable wrestler. He got people to love him and the only time 2 times I remember disliking him was in video games and the infamous 2015 royal rumble.
This shit got on my nerves because I know it was Vince McMahon pulling the strings they even had an angle where dusty rhodes was a dick to him WTF Vince
Rey Mysterio was the man that got me into WWE the first time i ever played a Smackdown Vs Raw game in the 2000s playing on the OG Xbox he was the first character i picked. Now at 24 he still is my favorite of all time to this day. Rey Mysterio and Iyo Sky are my favorite male and female superstars of all time.
Rey Mysterio sort of felt like a Underdog everytime , always needing the hardest of ways to come up on the top , he had feuds , was Betrayed and even lost his best friend he fought against for his son ..... This Man got cheated and battled wars and got WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION...and still got respected Rey Mysterio was and still is one of the greatest Wrestlers , he deserved more Title Shots and more high caliber Booking
2014: He returned during the rumble, everyone hated him. 2020: His own daughter turns on him for a 45 year old Buddy Murphy. 2024: Mendoza and Phoenix (whatever their names are. The two guys in the LWO that teamed with Santos before Rey stole the group). Will turn on him and join Carlito. 2025: Zelena Vega and Andrade will turn on him.
Other than being heel in WCW in a stable called, "Filthy Animals" from 1999 to 2001, it's hard to imagine him doing any ungrateful actions or be taken seriously as a heel in WWE. He's not really an intimidating character or someone who's a "big threat" to anyone.
The fans booed Rey Mysterio at Royal Rumble 2014 for being the #30 because they wanted Daniel Bryan instead (even if the fans were booing the decision rather than Rey personally). So yes, Rey was bullied by everyone.
TBH, this would be the perfect buildup towards his first legit Heel turn before he retires ... he just turns his back on EVERYBODY after being betrayed by practically everybody he's ever trusted in the ring
Rey Mysterio is the true super hero of the WWE...in the worst way possible. It's like watching Peter Parker with no spider powers, or Batman, except he's got no money and is just an orphan. In the cannon of WWE, he's had his skull crushed by a giant, his legs broken by Chavo Guerrero, his arms broken by Alberto Del Rio, had his eye ripped out on live programming, and his body broken every time he performs on a day ending "Y". Honestly, the one thing we've never gotten is a Rey Mysterio villain arc. The Rey Revenge Tour. What better way to honor Eddie than with a little bit of lying, cheating and stealing?
My brother and i were fans of Rey for so many years It wasnt due to our latin heritage either, we just loved the guy. My brother was so hurt any time he was just treated like a tin can. I think he even still has a replica mask from many years ago When he and i learned he was added into the HoF a few years back, he and i cried so much. A childhood hero we saw absolutely claw his way to the top for so long was just so much for him and me The biggest little man damn well earned his spot at the top and it had been such a phenomenal journey to see it all
I thought of it recently, for the past 3 years even since Dominick betray him it been a trend that everyone that Rey knows always seem to betray him for some reason.
The hate for Rey Mysterio is so strong that I wouldn't be surprised that somebody learns how to be a necromancer just to bring Eddie Guerrero back to run his fade again. 😂😂😂
Dont forget the WCW days. Kevin Nash used him as a "human dart", and the nWo beat him in a match where he lost the rights to use his mask the rest of his tenure in WCW.
Rey is one of the very best at selling being betrayed and getting hurt. He also has that childlike aura which makes it even more frustrating for the fans to see him being bullied around. May be it's because he has the most chance of getting that reaction out of the fans that the WWE goes back to this trope.
Don't forget Kevin Nash and Scott Hall the Rey into the side of a trailer like a long dart. Rey almost was paralyzed. He was out for a really long time. This was in WCW.
I always had this idea of Rey finally turning heel using the king of the ring tournament as a motivation, when he reaches the top he can change his name to "King Mysterio" and rule with iron fist, the LWO would be his strike team. He would need a manager though, since Rey has never been great at promos.
The moment Carlito turned on him. I was like OK. They need to turn Rey heel because everybody keeps turning on him and it feels like Rey might actually be the issue.
if I am not mistaken, this is because Vince hated how small Rey was and how in his eyes he was unpresentable, I mean he had Wade Barrett beat him clean in England because the Crowd cheered for Barrett, even though Barrett most of his Career was presented as a Jobber
My guy that match was in new orleans the night after wrestlemania 30 trust me I searched the place of the event everyone thinks is from England because few fans from the UK came to watch wrestlemania and the night after wrestlemania
The world has it out for Rey so that we can all cheer for him once he gets his get-back. He's like the wrestling version of Spider-Man and not because he can do all those cool acrobatics n stuff.
Jesus what the hell did Vince have against Rey Rey the man constantly dying, its crazy that he hasnt turned heel, he's like the Obi Wan of WWE always getting shit on but never going to the dark side.
I adore the idea that no matter how many times Rey is betrayed he doesn’t lose faith in himself or the people that support him. Plus when you look at all the shallow reasons and the heel actions of the people that do go after him, you can clearly see they all have things in common that they’re insecure, frustrated and feel a need to hurt someone they believe can’t beat them. It all comes back to the idea that everyone underestimates Rey Mysterio because he’s a small person, who masks himself and is still worldly beloved. Lol I some the kayfabe explanations far more.
