just stop getting so mad and learn to love LEGO again -music - i don't own this, nor is it mine, obviously Halo 2 - • In Amber Clad #maydayfigs #afol #legostarwars
That only works if we don’t spend OUR money on these sets…but because of how expensive these sets are we definitely need to recognize the bad and complain about it.
I personally adore the battlepack, while yes the price is a bit much, it feels like the battlepacks from 2013 and such, it feels like lego dipping back into the classic style of battlepacks that are praised so much in the lego star wars space.
Lego: perfectly recreates every major detail from the mandalorian armor forging scene in a $30 set Minifig scalpers: this set is mid, get it for the figures.
As someone who experienced my LEGO "dark age" during what many would call the LEGO Star Wars "golden Age" 2008-2014. I'm honestly extremely happy overall with what LEGO has been releasing in recent years. I'm excited to get more cheap 332nd Clones.
Amazing how you manage not only to thoughtfully comment on major issues within the Lego Star Wars space, but also relevant personal and social struggles that many of your viewers probably deal with only a daily basis. On top of that, it’s done in less than 2 minutes. I saw a comment recently noting how despite an explosion of brainless short form drivel content across social media platforms, one thing the RU-vid algorithm has done brilliantly well is start to suggest smaller creators. You’re one of those I’ve been blessed with. Keep fighting the good fight!
the biggest divide are probably the helmet holes, I personally dont mind them since they allow for customization which is the core mechanic of this toy but I see why someone might not like it
You are my only connection to the online LEGO Star Wars community, so it's an important reminder for me to hear sometimes that they aren't all as fair and level-headed as yourself. ❤
I’ve been thinking the exact same thing for a while now, and I’ve found far less enjoyment in the Lego SW community than I used to. It seems you can’t go a single video without a mention of Lego messing up. Especially in these years when we’re are actually getting what we want from Lego and have been from for some time, I just can’t see how it keeps getting more negative. Hopefully everything turns around one day and a community based around fun building bricks can be less serious and toxic. Also love the halo music in the background, great video❤
Why are you the only one I’ve seen that has acknowledged this? This has been a thing that has been upsetting me for a while now, it seems that no matter what you enjoy or dislike about a Lego Star Wars sets or mini figs that someone will always tell you that you are wrong. :/
Watching so many people complain about stuff like render fails, or just simply becouse of the helmet holes, thats's embarassing, but on the other hand, blind consumers who like everything and get pissed up becose some people are dissatisfied with a set isn't any better. Becose there are things, when Valid critisizm can be made. Like look at this Vaughn, coming in that swamp speeder, he is literally just a regular 332nd trooper with an orange visor and a rank plaque. First, he should have blue arms, becouse he had the same arm markings as Cody and he came with orange arms, so this is inconsistent, but the real problem comes here: Vaughn actually had grey abdonmen, grey left ammo box, unique maroon markings on his helmet, under his eyes and around his chin. His visor piece itself was maroon, and he had accesories on the top of his helmet. Just check out the 501st databank for said details. And I am not asking for the impossible, like arm or visor printing, just the bare minimum, wich lego has proven they can do. (Cody has grey abdonmen, the accesories on the top of his helmet are printed, they were also printed on the 501st heavy trooper) They just butchered Vaughn.
I just hate that they made us believe that we had to buy multiple aat's to get the troops. They should have gave us Vaughn in the aat set and then a battle pack with the regular troops from the actual aat set
Tbh, the set is great. The 332nd clone is a bonus, honestly. The battle pack coming out in August is trash. I'm only buying one because the print sucks, so they don't go well with the perfect clones that came in the AAT set. I prefer the old version and I hope this new pack sinks the value of the old clone to at least $10.
@@EchoBaseplates what do u mean by the print sucks? U know the thick black line was just a bad render and it looks the same as the original.the print on the top extends back further tho. Does have holes tho
@@hoarder66 No, I’m not referring to the black line. I am referring to the Ahsoka printing. If you look at the real photos it is not printed correctly. The same issue with the current 501st helmets and it is due to them having trouble accurately printing on this new mold with the holes.
Honestly, It’s such a shame that this is like the first time I’ve seen this opinion acknowledged. Kudos on taking the time to make a video on it. It seems to be that no one is ever happy in the Lego StarWars community because people always seem to find a new thing to complain about.
Has anyone else noticed that parts of the Lego star wars community is more focused on keeping sealed boxes and exclusive minifigs details than actual building experiences? Invest, invest, invest, sealed, sealed, sealed! Build and play with my Lego set? Why would I do that? /s
Love this take. Just happy to have finally come out of my dark ages personally. Surprised by the amount of grief the clone sets have gotten recently, although since beginning to collect again in March I have also grown to dislike the helmet holes myself so I can understand some of the criticisms made. Regardless, I am just grateful to have more clones in general.
I got annoyed when i saw the monobrow troopers leak, a meltdown would be a bit of a stretch. But this is an excellent perspective and stings of the truth.
I, like many others are pretty annoyed about all these render fails and such. I mean they are a multi billion dollar company. I will still buy and love the product even if it has errors (like the inaccurate Vaughn) and I do feel that people focus a little to much on the wrong (in this case thick black lines) rather than the actual pictures.
Lego star wars fans often forget: IT'S A KIDS TOY. I know that is a overused excuse, but I'm not saying that adults cannot enjoy it, I'm just saying. Helmet holes are for KIDS. The sets are for KIDS, an adult or teen can still love Lego star wars, but even with ucs sets, the basis of the molds they're using, ARE FOR KIDS. IT'S A KIDS TOY. EXPECT KIDS TOY QUALITY. And as a person who loves the playability in lego I like that it's built as a kids toy.
So true! I remember watching a video and someone was getting really mad over the renders and the holes in the helmet and I was like it could be better but is this the hill your going to die on? Anyway though that person can have that opinion but I personally love the set and am counting the days until august 1st! Also heard you will be at Brickworld and I am excited to meet you in person!
Sometimes you just need to take a step back and enjoy what’s on your plate, you never know if in a few years you may not have the access to something you do now. Beautiful shot of Redwood Nation Parks btw😍
I feel like we need to be in a mix we should appreciate what we get and be hyped for sets but sometimes we should tell Lego hey this is kinda unfair when we need to
coming from someone that doesnt actually like the 332nd battle pack (not bc its bad, its a great set for army building its just bc i dont like the mismatched helmets) you bring up a great point, it seems now days people get given what they have been asking for like more clones, and then just throw back at lego's face and demand they make it better when lego is doing what they can
I know LEGO Star Wars isn’t perfect in every aspect but we should be grateful and thankful for the level of minifigure and set detail/design we are getting now from LEGO. Everything may not be 100% accurate but there is no doubt that the minifigures and sets of today far surpass the early days of LEGO Star Wars.
This isn't too specific to Star Wars, but I feel like it's become all too common to milk minor (and often valid) criticisms as massive issues that PROVE that LEGO HATES US or so on. This particularly seems to be a shorts problem but that might just be my intake. Anyway, it might be my personal biases but it defenitely feels like it's become harder to find reviewers and content creators that have a balanced take rather than either endlessly singing it's praises or calling it the worst thing ever made. On a more positive note, it does make it more refreshing when you do find a channel that fits the bill, and I'm glad I've found this one. Customs are an area that have kind of mixed and taboo discourse in my experience, and your videos have really opened me in terms of high quality they can be!
I had negative thoughts on this set because there are better options for a clone battle pack that’d revolve around a swamp speeder. The community has been a shitshow lately but I calmed down about the 332nd set despite what it is, it’s not bad just flawed. Also LEGO’s renders for clones have kinda been misleading or trash I learned not to believe the renders.
@@rotmgpumcakeits still another clone unit, even if its something weve already had recently its great to have 212th, 501st, 332nd, 187th and later this year the coruscant guard all available on shelves at the same time. yes its flawed but you should try and be grateful that lego has been focusing so much on the clones for the past few years, listening to what fans want and giving us so much choice
I think the biggest problem is the failure to critically analyze both our current offerings as well as the ones from the past. Ive seen terrible older sets be praised because of what its based on, and likewise fantastic newer sets be hated because of what its based on. It’s rarely actually looking at the product itself and holding up the stuff from the past as untouchable when if you critically breakdown either, chances are the older thing might not hold up as well as you thought, and the newer thing might be better than you thought. Of course everyone is entitled to like what they want to like, but rarely do you ever see this community actually break down the products and just go with their pre conceived biases, without ever taking the time to look at the products themselves.
honestly, i find the divide to be a major reason i don't go to the r/legostarwars subreddit anymore. even once the official renders for the 332nds came up, people still complained about the thick lines, which was annoying because it demonstrated how much people don't care about the criticism being valid, just that they can criticize. imo the most frustrating part in discussions was two statements used to dismiss criticism. "its just a toy" or "just buy black series" don't even attempt to understand the arguments of the critical people. as a general rule, people are more asking for the details they represent to be accurate, not to add details outside of lego's artstyle. people who criticize 212ths want a triangle to be a triangle, and (mostly) don't ask for perfect printing on every surface.
I think one of the issues stems from leaks being reported on in such a real-time fashion. With the unibrow look to the clones, a whole narrative developed in the timespan of like 10 hours maybe? Wasn’t very long between render images leaking, immediate criticism, and then people doubling back once the lifestyle images came out later in the evening. Should the renders be made with more care? Yes. Should freak outs happen immediately? No, probably not. This happens often with leaks - I remember the republic fighter tank leaks with everyone saying it looked like trash for a long time. Then it actually released and people were like “Oh it’s not THAT bad, maybe we were too harsh.” This is why i tend to stay away from these topics for the most part in my videos and when offering critique, I try to be respectful. Delivery is key with these kinds of issues.
Hey MayDay! This is really random but where did you get thay really sick accurate visor for Commander Vaughn? It looks so much more accurate compared to the orange Cody Visor Another great video man, keep em' coming
very good video. there is too much immediate reactionary negativity and hate as opposed to actual criticism. it does nothing for this community besides breed more hate. certain creators need to learn the difference between personally not liking something vs leading a hate campaign. constantly negating any kind of benefit of the doubt because they think something should be done the exact way they personally want is not valid criticism. i constantly see collectors of all types become so entitled to having things be the way they want it, then hate on something when theres even a slight change.
I love this battle pack cause I didn’t get the tank cause I did not want it something I am going to do is take the Bodies from the specialist one and the helmets from this new one and make 332 specialist and I love your chill videos
the problem, too many pinted and very uncommon clone troopers, this sets needs a droid battlepack to do a versus,or even better, a red mandalorian super commando battlepack
Why are people complaining about the thickness of a line? I also don’t get the hate for Yavin 4, it’s a great and accurate set with a nice interior, but I guess I’m just biased since I’m lacking a rebel base.
Beautifully spoken all the hate just makes it feel wrong to be in this fandom because you never know what set is gonna come out that’s just gonna get mass backlash without any praise
Couldn't agree more. Criticism is fine and everyone has their own opinion. However, if we focus too much on the negative, we lose sight of the positives. Bashing a set isnt going to make it better or change the future.
Is anyone leading targeted hate campaigns over the swamp speeder? Like I watch a few dozen lego content creators and the only thing they/we are divided on is the Yavin temple and I've seen none that are actively hating on the swamp speeder all are just disappointed... Which you can like bad stuff but you don't have to defend it... Which Lego's own motto is "Only the best is good enough." and criticism is normal and welcomed by any good creator as it's how we grow... But Lego is one of the few creator's that don't like criticism. Which if we don't critique it will only get worse... Is that better for lego as a whole?
Thank you for putting this out here and I agree with you completely, I’m tired of people telling me I should hate something because it’s not 100% up to their expectations.
While it won’t last, we are experiencing the second golden age of Lego clone wars, and the community has grown so much in such a short time. People need to stop and thing before parading that Lego is an absolute buffoon on a rendering error that’s not even real. I admit, I was not a fan of the thick line but once I looked at the rest of the photos it was an “ah-ha” moment for me.
Honestly I've said this a lot but I'll say it again lots of people in the Lego community constantly ask for things they really want but then they immediately get mad and send complaints and stuff like that to Lego for not delivering exactly what they wanted and That's probably because they're trying not to spend too much money so I need every one of these comments to respect what Legos doing and be grateful for what you have because you never know when it might leave you Pin me pls
The set itself is honestly great. But 20 dollars for battlepacks still rubs me the wrong way. Call me old and out of touch, but I'm still used to 10 or 13 dollar battlepacks
