On 7 December 1995, Diana, Princess of Wales spoke at an event for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint at London's Savoy Hotel - her first speech since her explosive interview with Martin Bashir. Appearing on a panel with Shadow Home Secretary Jack Straw, the princess spoke of the young people she had met on her numerous visits to Centrepoint and the various causes of youth homelessness before urging her audience to continue its work with the younger generation. At the end of the speech, Diana received a gift from two young people, both of whom wished the Princess of Wales a happy Christmas.
Diana's son, Prince William, Prince of Wales has taken up the cause of tackling homelessness that his mother championed. In June 2023, William and the Royal Foundation launched Homewards, a five-year programme aimed at demonstrating "that together it is possible to end homelessness: making it rare, brief, and unrepeated." On 7 September 2023, the Prince of Wales met with businesses leaders who have pledged to support the Homewards initiative during a visit to Dorset.

Diana's death was one of the most senseless and needless wastes. I so wish she had the chance of seeing her grandchildren growing up. The world lost someone irreplaceable when she died.
@paulthomas281
@paulthomas281 10 месяцев назад
@jimanderson5883 You clearly have a larger-than-life, warped perception of "famous" people. She was a media creation, someone who loved her life in the spotlight. Yes, she suffered a lot in her adult life, but she looked in the wrong places to heal herself. By no stretch of the imagination was she someone who was inspiring.

She talked the talk but the Duke of Edinburgh did more for young people and gave them real chances. He didn’t just talk about it. Unfortunately he didn’t have Diana’s legs and blue eyes so he isn’t worshipped though of course he worked away quietly and wasn’t looking to be worshipped.

@purplepoppyz
@purplepoppyz 5 месяцев назад
@@glen7318 same for Prince Charles as he was then. Among many causes he founded The Princes Trust and through his work with that alone he has helped millions of young people. Diana was a wealthy enough woman before she married Charles. Which charities did she found, volunteer for or support before she met Charles? Which AIDS patients did she comfort without ensuring the cameras were there to catch it? Before Diana married Charles she was running around Chelsea, shopping for designer gear and visiting establishments that wouldn’t allow you or I in, with her Sloan Rangers friends.

I actually followed them since I was 13 and everyone in Wales wanted me to become Queen at 15 but turned it down until I was 20. Princess Diana made this possible for me to become a great Queen. Woody.EXE was originally going to call me Queen Diana II but I didn’t want him disrespecting William and Harry’s mother and so, I became Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III

In the UK we tend to think respect should be earned and nothing Harry has done is worthy of respect. Not his attacks on his family, not his selling his fairy stories in his book, not his provable lies on Oprah, not his Netflix reality TV show, not his dressing as a Nazi, not his bullying whilst in the forces such as referring to a junior colleague as ‘Paki’, not his naked billiards, not his drunken falling out of nightclubs and attacking photographers. Maybe in your culture those things are respected. Not in ours.
