Some of Ekko's Time Clone mixups look like the devs saw that Piccolo mix clip from Will It Kill and were like "okay but what if we made a character who only did that?"

Knowing they had a soft-reboot in development to make it a tag fighter makes the early announcement make so much more sense. They totally intended the game to be out a couple of years ago and just pivoted.

Creating a tag team name with your friend that appears on screen, maybe while loading the online match up, should definitely be a thing.

Seeing the entire chat pop off when Sajam admitted that he actually played the game three years ago was the funniest thing.

I would love to see more double team tournaments in fighting games outside of melee. I would love to see a EVO with a team of players vs another team, picture BigBird and Angrybird duoing up a EVO bracket.

As a Marisa main, I'm now a life-long member of the cool tall lady with big muscles fan club. So I'm jonesin' real hard for more info on Illaoi. Fingers crossed we'll get to see more of her at EVO. That or Jinx, because I'm contractually obligated to play Jinx in every LoL affiliated game

Im so hyped for this game. As a League player since Season 3 and a fresh fighting game player, this is like the perfect cocktail to me.

One thing I noticed while watching this match footage was that if a point character dies while that character's assist is still on the screen, there's a weird amount of time that goes by while you're waiting for the assist to leave, and then reappear. I think it'd be cool if your assist is still on screen when your point character dies, then it instantly switches control to the assist without the forced reset back to neutral. I understand that they probably want the forced reset back to neutral when a character dies, but it'd be interesting IMO for there to be a way to bypass that if your opponent is too aggressive with assists at the wrong time.

Itll be interesting to see if people from league take an interest it in long term. LoL content creators have general made high level concepts easy to learn with videos and demonstrations (wave management, trading patters, jungle tracking etc) so im hoping that carries over to fgs.

What are the cancel windows like? Is it like strive where the entire recovery is cancelable, or is it more like other games where theres a relatively tight window?

Gameplay wise I think it looks amazing, just hope the story elemnts tie in. I would love to see an Injustice or Mortal Kombat style intro into the match where the champions that are gonna be fighting say story-related lines to eachother. It would be an easy way to build up more lore about Runterra and see characters from many different regions interact, e.g Darius from Noxus talking to Ekko from Zaun would be wild.

Amaaazing video really loved all the insight and details and how clearly you explained everything. But dude really? Aphelios and Orn? They are like at the bottom of my list. Hope they gently ignore your suggestion xDD

I DID kinda want Level 3s as you can stock 3 bars of super meter and I love a big meter dump "SPEND IT ALLLLL" moment, but the level 2s seem pretty dramatic so I'll take it.

I don't know if it was mentioned in the video, but how do you feel about the timer and damage? I noticed the timer is 2 minutes and doesn't reset or get more time added on character death. I've seen several time outs in the clips we have seen so far since the damage seems sort of moderate (could be bigger with more optimized routes). With the amount of defensive mechanics and most people doing this test probably playing way more aggressively than say a Top 8 at Evo, I feel like this game might suffer from people playing for time rather than for the kill (which isn't inherently bad, but can sort of feel less hype). Especially when we have Riot money on the line. Maybe 150 or 180 seconds just to give people that extra amount of little time to finish a kill might be better in the long run?

I really wish it wasn't like bbtag or mvci, but im looking forward to at least trying it out in evo. Also kind of still disappointed there are no motion controls. What is the counter play to the pushblock? Do you just get get out of jail free cards? Why is there a universal wake up attack? Can you whiff punish it?

The game looks gorgeos now. I remember a couple of years ago that it looked kinda rough.

Just the giddy energy and childlike excitement EMANATING from the people talking about Project L just makes u want to play the game and get sent to outer space by an Ekko timewinder, triple axel, ligerbomb, dandy step, shoryuuken, riot stomp, poison arrow, tetsuzanko, get over here, yashiori, big nut, dawg in em combo and I am HERE FOR IT

Im super hyped for this but mannnn having to wait prolly at least till 2025 for it or late 2024 hurts. I know thats because of the pivot in development but this looks like its going to be super fun.

Hi @sajam which game would you say has the same combat system most similar to this? If I wanted to have a good understanding before I started what should I play?

I'm so relieved it's not as cluttered as most Versus games, as a viewer. Seems very close to MvCI, BFTG or early DBFZ in that sense. It might get more confusing as people get better at the game (or less confusing as we get used to playing/watching), but it's a very good first impression. On the gameplay front, I'm also really happy with damage, speed, combo length, pace. I wonder if Parry being that powerful and refunding meter won't completely invalidate projectile oki on reaction, though.

As a S2 League Vet and an avid player all the way until s6, I'm very excited for this game. My roster wishlist is as follows: Champs that are most likely to show: Leona Renekton Yasuo Jhin Lee Sin Champs that are less likely but personal favs: Diana (The #1) Orianna Nasus Elise (Stance Character) Azir (Puppet Character) Champs I want but have no idea how they'd work: Tahm Kench (Grappler?) Kindred (Slippery Zoner) Karthus (Not a clue) Kassadin (hit and run?) Taliyah (Zoner?) This third list is filled with a few characters I think are doable but it would be hard to implement in a way that feels true to their identities, though Karthus is def a big meme.

Is there any downside to teching in the air or should you just always be trying to tech?

I always hoped Project L would bring a whole new level of popularity to the genre so I'm honestly surprised to hear the game feels like it's tuned for expert level degeneracy rather than widespread/newcomer appeal. Seems odd for a company with a game that has millions of active players to take.6 years making a game for a relatively small target audience. No doubt they are keenly aware of all of this (and have spent more than 30 seconds thinking about it like me) so I look forward to seeing what they come up with to bring people in!
