Good review. I don't have an issue with the chrome and give Ford credit for offering it unlike GM with the new Colorado. I do believe they could tone it down just a little maybe eliminating it on the running boards and exterior mirrors. It looks nice on the grille, window trim and door handles and is a refreshing change from all the cheap looking black plastic the Colorado uses. I also like how Ford give more powertrain options, more std features like cruise control, alloy wheels, more std. power, a rear seat armrest and map pockets and giving the customer more interior color options. The prices are too high however on both!

I would love to see a hybrid option that gets 30mpg around town.

I like it! But I am 71 & I bought a XLT in Azure Gray Metallic with chrome package! I am really liking my truck. I had a 2019 Ranger XLT & never any problems!

I think the new "bland" Ranger appeals to older people. I'm older, and I like it. The other "transformer" looking mid-size trucks are what younger drivers like. IMHO

One of the things that stood out to me when I saw the truck at a new car show, was the center console lid. When I went to open it, it would be an exaggeration to say that I thought I was going to tear the thing right off, but it really flew open because it was so lightweight compared to other trucks I had just sat in. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t last the life of the truck, but it just felt lightweight and flimsy. I also just got a feel of general cheapness from all of the switch gear and buttons.

50k for a ranger is crazy. Might as well get the ranger raptor, but I’ll bet dealerships are adding 10K or more to the msrp

While the new model is a great truck, I agree that it isn’t the best looking from the front. I have a 2014 original T6 Ranger Limited as well as the 2023 model Wildtrak, which America never got, and the 2014 is far better looking as far as I’m concerned.

i think the time change has something to do with the Flux-Capacitor once you reach 88 mph.😇

2023 Ranger is a better vehicle than 2024 Ranger. Ranger Raptor is actually a real generation upgrade. Other 2024 Ranger trim levels are modified Gen 5 Rangers.

I own a 2024 Lariat and have no "creaks". In terms of looks it's not as good as GMC/Chevy but better than Tacoma. Tacoma is over designed.

Looks like the Platinum model we get in Europe and Australia. In Europe we get South African built models. We don’t get the door password button locks and the keyless proximity entry has been disabled due to criminals cloning keys remotely. Ford have promised to replace our keys with modified security but like most of their promises, they are yet to deliver. You are lucky not to get the ‘sport hoops or bars’ over the bed, so you can choose your own fixture such as a practical ladder rack if preferred. I really love the shifter as shown and far superior to the lower model’s conventional stick. I have none of the creaking on mine, which is a Wildtrak model. Driver assistance is something we will, unfortunately, have to get used to. In fact in Europe, from this month we are forced to have active speed limiters which read the signs and sat nav, plus driver attention monitor and alcohol breathalyser. Can’t understand why you do not have the time auto-update switched on, which is a virtual button just below where you set the time manually.
@benhaze1010
@benhaze1010 Месяц назад
Interesting posting! The door password has nothing to do with the key cloning phenomena apparently happening around the world, which is also not just limited to Ford vehicles so just don't shoot this manufacturer from having this issue. Driving assistance features are sadly needed for the wide public who is not best suited to drive motor vehicles so again not limited to Ford. It is just anew reality you need to get used to. Here in North America the vehicle system is just sharing the visible road speed limit; are you saying that in your country vehicles need to have an active speed limiter? This seems to be very unlikely for all kind of safety reasons actually.
@hedydd2
@hedydd2 Месяц назад
@@benhaze1010 I never said any of this was limited to Ford, although other brands have sorted the keyless entry security issue already and Ford are now a year late after their initial target date to start rolling out new key fobs. I believe they are selling new build models with the revised key fobs from the South African factory. In Europe, from earlier this month, all new build cars and trucks must have active speed limiters, which the Ranger already has but can be permanently switched off and is linked to the active cruise control. From now this will default to ‘on’ with every cold start. The other features listed, such as driver attention monitoring and built in breathalyser which will not allow the car to be driven if alcohol breath is detected are part of this same tranche of legislated changes. There are already companies out there that sell software or devices that disable stop/start and lane keeping assist and there is no doubt that they will banish this speed limiting nonsense as well.

If you need all the “driver assistance “ stuff, then you’re not a very good driver and should not be on the road behind a wheel.
