That scene is one of the most interesting things Nolan has come up with. It's meant to recall experiments in Nazi camps, and how the next step in control and power is conquering your subject's mind.

Agreed, this is my favorite of the Nolan trilogy. I think it hits a near-perfect balance of being mostly grounded in reality, but finding excuses to slip in just enough campy or melodramatic elements to still feel true to the comic book origins. The other two were just too dour and self serious, at least for my taste.

You know he's not for at least the first half hour it's on while he needs to prepare for and then get out of his meeting with Gordon. Then he's got to take a leak from all the coffee he downed sitting that meeting (it helps keep him awake during boring stakeouts). The donuts usually give him gas too, so he's usually in there for a while and that suit's harder to deal with than pantyhose, amiright, ladies? Mhmm. And he probably forgot to pick up a pack of smokes at 7-11too, so he has something to do during those long stakeouts. Really you've got at least 85 minutes for a purge before you need to worry about anything.

1:54 I was just reading about this in a book analyzing candyman. In real life Detroit, the highway put a physical divide between the slums and the gentrified areas, in fact making it physically more difficult to get from the poor side of town to the rich side for people that already may have lacked transportation. So essentially that is what this train system is hoping to fix with cheap/free transportation out of the slums and into the city enabling people to access better work and resources.

Really depends on the character. Batman, Green Arrow, and Deathstroke would rock with practical effects. Zatanna, Black Adam, and Flash are impossible without cgi.

Joker ordering Batman to take off his mask as he holds a gun to Rachel then completely ignores that by dropping her out of a window instead giving Batman an escape route.. OK so what happened next did Batman just take off for the night with Rachel and leave Joker and all them hostages up there? What a pointless plan it made no sense that I can tell. The prison escape is hilariously illogical.. Good job batman broke joker into that glass to give him his key escape weapon. Explodes that bomb and EVERY police officer in the police station surrounding him has just completely disappeared whilst Joker is unharmed and able to strut around grabbing Lowe before escaping in a police car. Dark knight rises.. Bane and Mirandas plan is to Blow up Gotham and kill themselves I guess since there's minutes left on the timer? All the prisoners they freed in the months before who barely even know them are haply to join their team? Lol so they all want to die for no reason? Ha I still don't get it, it's just so illogical

I love the scene where Batman reveals his identity to Rachel. He clearly did it subtly to avoid other people figuring it out, which he also does in the third movie with Gordon (so your sin is irrelevant). Plus, the moment when she realizes that he’s still the good person he’s always been is extremely satisfying.

Sadly that's the modern era of English We spend so much time on the Internet, we have allowed auto suggestion and correct to do literacy for us We've allowed ourselves to follow trendy words and phrases I.e "pwned" "stop the cap" "rizz" etc, on things like Twitch, it's booba, sadage, madage etc That the only people that care about spelling is those that read books, and when spelling errors are pointed out, you get called Grammar Police, which in itself is an error, because grammar is the structure of sentences, not the spelling of a word in the sentence

5:20 I don’t think there were actually bats in that box. Bruce is on the blue flower drug, so I think what you see in the box is unique to you, which would be consistent with when Bruce sees bats later when fighting scarecrow.

7:25 Actually, bats do cluster in absolutely staggering numbers. Caves exist IRL with literally millions of bats in them. There's nothing wrong with this scene, in theory - we just have a hard time wrapping our heads around seeing huge numbers of things onscreen. Also, this movie deserves some sins off for inventing Lucius Fox - a character who makes so much sense in hindsight that it seems like he should have already existed, and was almost immediately added to the casts of other Bat-projects, like the Telltale Batman games. He's easily the best addition to the canon since Harley Quinn.

Today, it's just impossible to believe that Batman, by his lonesome, is able to produce military-quality gear that's better than what's created by huge industrial research labs. I've really been enjoying these second looks at the past movies. I'm 100% sure it's just because I started watching during this era of longer videos and is just a personal problem but a lot of the old stuff feels rushed because of that so it's nice to have them in this format

I’ve a request: 9. It’s a beautiful flick and I’d thoroughly enjoy a rip or commentary on how pretty awesome it is, it’s a journey similar to Frodo going to Gondor but is rife with flaws as well as exemplary cinematography despite being entirely cgi. I’d love your take on it

The Batman Begins variant of Scarecrow will forever terrify me because of his hallucinations of bats coming out of his mouth, having a lawyer become terrified of him due to exposure to his fear toxins, and putting Batman on fire but more so of the bat hallucinations coming from the mouth

Whatever minor flaws one may be able to identify with Batman Begins, it still stands as one of the best cinematic superhero origin stories. The acting is top notch. The characters are relatable. The world crafted in Batman Begins is by far one of the most believable. Finally, Nolan's first foray into the Batman universe does one of the best jobs at distilling the complexity and centrality of father figures in shaping future generations of men. The way that the tension between two father figures - Thomas Wayne and Ducard/Ra's al Ghul - with their competing worldviews, shaped Bruce Wayne, has yet to be rivaled by any superhero film. Its a film that every father and son should watch together.
