Yeah, it's funny to think of that, lol 😂 but Arnies character in this movie is made out to be neglectful and not the brightest on how he goes about doing things, aside from the duties of his job at work. But his job as a father is played for laughs in this movie. Here's my response to Cinamasins' comment at 4:54 - 5:01 - Back in the mid 90s, when seeking a particular higher quality item of merchandise, be is an item of clothing, artifact, etc., a boutique store was often thought of as the preference over going to a large retail outlet like Walmart. However, with a popular toy or doll for a kid, larger retail outlets were just as good if not better, including the latest most popular doll like Turboman. But Arnie's character didn't appear to know that, which seemed to be another example of how clueless his character in this movie was. He was another one of those movie fathers always so buried in Office work that he lacked simple common sense regarding many things in life unrelated to his career, such as not realizing that a popular toy for kids less than a week before Christmas is going to be frickin sold out. I would've thought that even Arnie would grasp that simple bit of common sense, but like I said, for comedy purposes the writers wanted to make him contain a comical level of aloof ignorance for laughs.
