Everything Wrong With The Last of Us S1E8 - "When We Are in Need" 

Ellie and Joel's justified brutality in this episode really did a good job of showing how Ellie was learning from Joel and foreshadowing Joel's actions in the finale

I liked how subtly they showed the difference between David and Joel, and who REALLY has Ellie's wellbeing at heart. The first thing David does is to remove Ellie's jacket, and when Joel finds Ellie again, he gives her his own.

Joel going from basically still comatose to hiding and surprise jumping a bad guy THEN overpowering a full grown armed guy is the most unbelievable part of this episode

2 Fun facts. Its poetic to have a guy who voice Joel got killed by Ellie. There is no one else in the town because Joel killed everyone else in the game. We had a long stealth fight in the snow town

10:19 When a different channel that does video game sins did the last of us, they did what has been one of my favorite sins gags of all time. He took off a sin every time Ellie struck David in the killing blows. I think it could've been appropriate here as well.

3:54 She actually hasn't though, at least in the context of David's group. She shot AT them in ep.6 to keep them away from her and Joel after he was stabbed, but didn't kill any of them. In fact, at this point in the show's timeline, Ellie has only shot two people, and only one of those was an (off-screen) kill shot. The remaining members of David's scouting party would've informed him of what happened at the university, and he would realise only Joel could've snapped a man's neck. Unlike Tro-sorry, James, who doesn't care either way and wants BOTH of them dead simply because "she was there with him", David is reasonable in this moment, although that's only because he has much creepier plans for Ellie which arguably makes his calm and rational responses all the more unnerving.

I wish you added a sin for how they made David a bible-belter. His video game counterpart worked so well because of his ambiguity. He would say stuff to Ellie that could also be interpreted as him wanting to hunt YOU down. He was like a Resident Evil villain! And while his TV counterpart is ok, I missed the ambiguity that made him more intimidating in the game.

The intense amount of heat to burn the stripped corpse bones would also require a special kiln and a lot of precious heat-making fuel of some sort... so while it would burn the evidence away, cremation would actually be too logistically hard to do well... the best they could likely do is hand the family back a decently scorched skeleton @1:15

There are definitely a shit load of people in America who reload their own ammo, not to mention almost every avid gun owner probably stock piles the FUCK out of ammunition, so I don’t think it’d be THAT uncommon for people scavenging to find entire sets of reloading equipment and/or stock piles of ammo. I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all to assume that most communities either have someone who reloads ammo already and/or had already hoarded a generous amount of ammo before the apocalypse. If a community doesn’t have the capabilities to reload their own ammo then I’d assume it’s just a matter of time until one of the people stumble across the equipment needed to reload their spent shells. You gotta keep in mind, there are way more guns in America than people and that’s BEFORE the apocalypse. So if you assume that 30-40% of people have already died during the time where the show takes place then there would quite literally be enough guns for every single person left to have quite a few of their own guns. If you haven’t been around people who love guns and shooting guns then you could never even imagine how many guns and the amount of ammo that a single person could have in their house. Personally I have a couple dozen thousand rounds of each type of ammunition for each of my dozens of firearms and I’m definitely on the smaller end of the spectrum for sure. So honestly I highly highly doubt that most communities are concerned with using all of their ammo up, as long as they make sure to pick up their brass casings. Also keep in mind the factories and stores absolutely full of projectiles casings and gun powder that people could go scavenge from. Of course the resources would eventually run out all together but it’s extremely easy to make your own black powder and plenty of books exist to teach you how, also melting and casting your own lead is extremely easy too. Just some food for thought.

Yup. He missed it. When Joel is searching through the hospital for Ellie he shoots at the silhouette of one of the Fireflies shown behind a 3 foot pane of frosted glass and all the glass shatters. In the next scene 1/4 of the glass has reappeared in the window frame. Actual TV Sin Tally: 61.

It's kind of incredible how every single sin awarded for this episode doesn't apply to the game, since it was smarter in every single aspect. I stopped watching the show at episode 7 and the sins vids have only affirmed that my decision was correct.
