I think the thing that slays me the most about Twilight series is that just about every single background character is so well thought out and developed and could literally have their own series....but when it comes to Bella, Edward and Jacob thy're just so bland that it makes the books and movies god awful! Leaving me with conflicted feelings.

So my friends took me to see the first one, I had NO knowledge of Twilight before then. After that, I've watched them once each, just so I knew what the same friends were talking about when they referenced them. The ONLY thing that got a reaction out of me in the entire series was Carlisle's decapitation. I was genuinely shocked and when the others started I thought "wow, bold move but it finally brings some consequences to a dangerous world". Aaaaaaaand then they did the "it was all a dream" thing, and I remember being really pissed off. After that, I decided my favourite part of the series was the credits for this film - A Thousand Years is a beautiful song, and the credit sequence is actually quite beautifully done....

The weirdest thing is that when he wonders why the movie included the Jacob "should I start calling you Dad line" (aka the creepiest line in the history of lines) he says it's crazy the movie put it in even if the book had and the book didn't have that line or any like it to my memory. That means the movie decided to put this line in all on it's own and it's just...why? Why would you want to make the creepiest storyline any creepier? Somehow the movies are weirder than the books, and that's saying something.

My daughter had read these books out of morbid curiosity having heard they were rather bad. Then she came to visit and a friend of my wife's had given the movies on DVD so my daughter watched them with us. At the end of this movie my daughter came up with an alternate ending. Having a helicopter coming flying in to hover over the battelfield, a figure jumps and lands between the two factions. It is Blade with his sword. He say, "Some mother fuckers are always trying to skate up hill", then proceeds to kill all the bad vampires. I think that would have been a much better ending myself.

Not to mention she just messed up the ecosystem of this forest by killing the cougar.

I like how Percy Jackson fans showed up in the comments to rebuke Bella's "no one has ever loved anyone as much as I love you", but let's be real: It's kind of unfair to compare Percy and Annabeth to those two vampire-wannabes. I mean, Percy HELD THE FREAKING SKY with the thought of her giving him the strength to do so. When he dived into Styx, his love for his family wasn't enough to keep him anchored to the mortal world, but his love for Annabeth was. A few chapters later, Annabeth got stabbed with a poisoned knife to save his life. In "Son of Neptune", after Hera stole Percy's memories, Annabeth's name was literally the ONLY memory Percy had and the only thing that kept him going until he reached Camp Jupiter. When Annabeth noticed she would be dragged down to Tartarus, she begged Percy to let her go, so she would fall alone and he would be safe. But Percy refused to get separated again, so he fell down into Greek mythology's actual hell with Annabeth, where they had to survive a lot of bs and save each other constantly until they got the heck out of there. They are heroes through and through, and their love is their biggest strength. Meanwhile, Edward and Bella have done all the "demonstrations/proofs of love" clichés for couples in romance/action movies. But they are not heroes like Percy and Annabeth. They don't fight against monsters, gods, titans or giants. They are relatively normal people, fighting relatively normal threats and showing their love in relatively normal ways. So, in their relatively normal world, Bella might very well love Edward like no one has ever loved anyone before. (I still think that whole scene is bs btw, especially because of the flashback.)

I love how even Robert Pattinson hated this saga, as much as we did. I was 12 years old when I started the books, and even I hated that stupid finale.

I was forced by my friends to read these books when I was in middle school and I have two things to say. 1) None of that fight happened or the vision it was a very peaceful meeting and that battle scene was added to literally just extend the movie run time. 2) even in the books the imprinting on Reneesme thing was still creepy as fuck because there was never an instance where the imprinting resulted in non-romantic relationships, I honestly dont know where the author was trying to go with that cause it was fucked up.
