Great video there on the 1200s. It’s great to see Farmer Phil and Flying Fergy Man etc keeping these old tractors alive as u say. Looking forward to your 100 series video.
Great video, as a child in 1976 a local farm opposite our primary school in Lincolnshire had a brand new R registered one alongside a brand new 595, I can remember seeing it fly up the road and it's rare (for then) six cylinder sound track, all the best Dave.😊
@@AgrimotiveFarmMachinery he certainly is, I also have a 1250 over there with him as well, it’s not next on his list but it’ll get started later in the year all going well.
Perhaps you could change the picture of the engine at 7 minutes and 50 secs, as well as being a 4 cylinder it is altogether different to the 1200 engine. I had and used one of these for nearly 20 years, Amazing amount of grip, turning circle was brilliant, good on fuel, generous amount of oil drips, always regret selling mine. Keep up the good work.
You have an Eagle eye. Yes, I inserted the wrong engine image from my files by mistake, I have hundreds of engine images on file and didn't take enough care when editing. Unfortunately, it's too late to change now. Thanks 👍
I looked at MB Trac and MF 1250 videos recently, and I was thinking, what if someone took MB axles and transmission that are able to withstand high troque, an MB 130/170hp engine and put them on the Massey articulated frame? 🤔
Another very interesting video Alan.I think in the mid 70,s a well known tillage farmer not far over the road from you in Rathkenny had a 1200,also a building contractor outside Kells had one pulling a lowloader..
Also International trucks here in Australia plus Chamberlain tractors and just about everything else you can think of. A good motor to retro-fit into tractors such as LA Case and Minneapolis Moline with petrol kero motors at the time. I have an MM GTB with a 354 in it done professionally. Good irrigation pump motors too. The International trucks with a 354 were rated at 130 HP non turbo. Also found on some headers such as Massey Fergusson 750 in turbo trim. I have seen Bedford KLs with a 354 sitting in there but they would have been put in later. A much better motor than the original Bedstead offering.
