Great stuff Alan, digging contractor had a few here on dump trailers and low loaders. Would not fancy that seat on the steep ground though, they looked to have a very high center of gravity?
Yes, it looks that way.. Could just be the fact that the cabs are very tall on them giving that impression. I'll be talking to a few owners soon and I'll enquire more. Thanks for watching as always 👍
Great info Alan as usual.I drove aMuir Hill 171 in early 1980,s.I drove it from Gormanlough to Ardbraccan towing a low-loader.It was far enough to drive it. Tractor had brakes only on 1 wheel and none on low-loader..
our old 171 went into Ireland to a drainage firm after it was traded in for a tw 30 . we ran the 171 along side with a tw30 the 171 out pulled the tw30 on ever job we did it just wasn't very reliable so it was traded in for a second tw 30.
Thanks, Trevor. A lot of them ended up on drainage jobs alight.. Can I ask, in what way was it unreliable? What issues did it suddenly from? Thanks for watching 👍
