There's so many things to talk about when it comes to SUNSCREENS and SUN PROTECTION that I decided to make a 2-part series all about them!

Hi i just found your spf series and i love it. When would you recommend to use sunscreen on your body? Is it also recommended to use it daily? And when should i apply spf in the day, as soon as i wake up or example after morning exercise when i ususally wash my face?

I always recommend sunscreen use on all exposed parts of the body when outdoors :)

Yehe when people ask me, I always say go super high on SPF because it is more likely people will grossly under-apply. So theres a buffer of protection. I assume they miss the “peaks” of their skin and more product collect in the “valleys”

I found out through experience that my skin responds to physical UV filters than chemical UV filters. Although I did enjoy the cosmetically elegant texture of chemical UV filters, I found that the my skin stings less whenever I use physical UV filters. 💚🙏

Hello po doc! I have a question po regarding sa reapplication po ng sunscreen. Should I wash my face before reapplying sunscreen o okay lang po kung hindi? I hope you'll answer it po hehe. Thanks po! ❤️

Depends, i usually just reapply using a compact with SPF on a daily basis. but for example nasa beach i just reapply Pero if halimbawa pinagpawisan ka or nadumihan ka, best to wash face before reapplication

It will depend on the vehicle - if water-based, gel-based or cream. Mineral sunscreens naman can be formulated in many ways :)

Hi po doc! Question po, minsan may mga products po na sinasabi need muna mag wait ng 15 to 30 before sun exposure. ung waiting time po ba na yun kasama sa 2 hrs ng effectivity ng sunscreen bago mag reapply ulit? Tia :)

Yes kasama na cya :) but actually that waiting time is controversial, merong mga nag sasabi na hindi na kailangan mag antay, especially if you are applying or using physical sunscreens. But the 2-3 hrs starts the moment you apply the sunscreen on your skin.

Thanks doc...hindi po talaga ako nag sunscreen kc ang feeling ko nakakapanget xa tingnan sa mukha kc parang oily..pero NgayoN gagamit na ako ng sunscreen..

Ok lang po ba doc yung Belo Suncreen na gamitin as a moisturizer also or need pa po ng seperate moisturizer for oily/normal skin?

Most skin products have moisturizers in them and for me personally if you're skin is ok naman there might not be any need to add an additional product.

Jayann Matalog hello! I would avoid products na nakalagay “rejuvenating” and “whitening” while pregnant especially during the first trimester. Advisable to wear sunscreens especially when pregnant but since sensitive skin ang pregnant i would recommend that you use physical sunscreens - ung may zinc oxide or titanium dioxide :)

Hi doc pwede pa request po ng skincare na pwede po sa breastfeeding mom like me at tanong lang po doc pwede po ba ako gumamit ng retinol or vit c serum. Thank you so much doc!

Mary grace Comahig hello! Breastfeeding moms can use almost everything na topical because most skin care ingredients have minimal systemic absorption. Just be careful not to “accidentally” transfer your skin care product ingredients to your baby. Especially ung mga irritating. My advice is for the first few months (maybe up to 6 months) stick to basic skin care products - mild cleansers, simple moisturizers and sunscreen. After that ok na gaya ng Retinol and vitamin c serum. And lastly, your choice of products will also depend on your skin concern (eg. Pigmentation, dry skin, large pores etc)

Double cleansing should work :) micellar followed by a gentle cleanser is ok.

Doc, are butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and Avobenzone are the same? Because my sunscreen has SPF 30 only pero sabi po it can protect you from UVA and UVB rays but there is no "Broad spectrum" or "PA++++" na nakalagay.

avobenzone protects against UVA :) also dont expect to see PA in all susncreens, so far only japanese and korean made sunscreens use PA rating

Doc, do i really need to wear sunscreen? I'm using. Adapalene po kasi but everytime na nag sasunscreen ako naiirritate skin ko and nakailang palit napo ako sa sunscreen but nakakaramdam po talaga ako ng slight itch. Gusto ko po talaga mag sunscreen para maheal yung PIE ko and PIH but pano ko po sila iheheal kung dipo sanay yung skin ko sa sunscreen :((

yes, i really suggest that you use sunscreen. CGuro if super sensitive ka stick to those made for children or those that dont contain too many ingredients :)
