For those of you who commented never let BlueJ/Blue “Parrot” on the mic again, unfortunately, you will never get to see him on the mic when he was actually NOT having a bad day, like this video shows. I’m not sure if Chris Matrix ever got to explain to the FGC community why BlueJ was not having a good day commentating in this specific moment, but there was more context that all of us viewers missed. The poor guy had not slept a crazy amount of hours flying from New York to Las Vegas. Not sure if he had a layover/delayed flight that prolonged his distress, but even so, with the lack of proper rest and add to that his tricky health condition, this was simply not going to be a good introduction of BlueJ to the many of you who had seen/heard of him for the first time in this video. I don’t even think BlueJ himself knew how out of his element he was to even notice he was repeating everything his fellow brother Matrix was saying at the time. Jose, I was barely getting to know you these past couple of years, & I genuinely felt overjoyed when you invited me to come visit your dungeon & told me you’d be more than willing to host & you would even have other ppl come over to welcome a brother from all the way on the opposite coast, despite me being a scrubby ass, combo dropping, “low tier” player. Alas, not only could I not make it to your personal invitation to the low tier tournament that happened a month ago, but I wont even be able to make it to your dungeon anymore & get some games with you & just hangout & have a good time in & out of the game. I’m still numb to this. I still don’t want to believe COVID19 finally took away someone I personally knew... I was hoping like most people, that I wouldn’t directly be affected by this. Chris, Yipes, Joshua, Brett, Desmond, Sanford, Liston, Gcon, Justin, the rest of the NY crew, and the rest of the Mvc2 & FGC community that got to know him, and especially his immediately family: Stay strong; we can do nothing but move forward & treasure the blessing of getting to know such a genuine & irreplaceable person. We still have each other and we never know when our time will come. Especially with this current turbulent crisis. Life is short. Treasure those around you. You will be missed. Rest In Peace, Brother Jose Miguel “BlueJ” Hernandez
I rewatched this just for BlueJ. Rest in peace brother. What I would give to still have you here providing the repetitive commentary. Hug your loved ones everyday
Damn I noticed in the comments that everyone was talking bad about this Blue Jay guy and I was like he can't be that bad but after watching this for like 5mins I'm like someone go get Yipes please.
Please never bring back MockingBird back. It was tough as hell listening to an echo for an hour...at one point, matrix stumbled into his own words and MockingBird Stumbled with him....terrible
lol this dude bluejay sounds like he lied to someone about how much knowledge he had, go put on stream, and was just trying to finish Chris Matrix' sentences so he would sound informed.
He could do commentary on every game all he has to do is copy the last 3 words the other commentator says and follow it up with an "absolutely" or "yes sir".
Yes I see the potential here.. if he agrees to be a mascot commentator. Or if he reduces the repeating and adds more original commentary it could actually be a thing
This is how you know duc’s mastered spiral: he can play her for stretches without her swords or calling assists, which are only spiral’s biggest weapons. Sanford’s probably the best at playing duc (maaaaybe justin?), being able to aaa him out of spiral’s blockstring traps to make her lose her swords and reset momentum (which is probably so key to defeating spiral), so duc has to be very selective in calling assists and reloading swords on Sanford. He still somehow makes it work.
No disrespect to VDO, but it should've been somebody else representing EC. He delivered a couple of solid games though and it's lame to leave him hangin @31:00 In general: a great showdown! It's really quite something to see some of the best in the mvc2 business duke it out along with that hype crowd. Quite a few moments of truly masterful play from both sides. And when you see that going down I can only agree with the commentator when he said: it's electric! Thanks for the vid and big respect to all of you who were part of it.
Everyone keep bring up how Blue Jay channels his inner parrot in this vid. Let's talk about Matrix' saint-like patience. I would have tapped out during that live broadcast.
I noticed something while watching this. To the east coast jakes it's just a game, and they smile and congratulate win or lose, but the other team becomes super salty when they lose to the jakes and sometimes don't even want to shake hands.
I knew I wouldn’t be let down by the comments. At the beginning I thought he was doing a bit, but then I was more surprised any time he didn’t repeat the other guy.
Im glad this game is still kicking! Its always been my favorite, but DAMN can we see some good MID TIER fights?!? So played out with santhrax and similar teams
Oh cool it’s Pete and re-Pete🥴🙄😴🤣🤣 best commentary ever…it’s great for the hearing impaired…blue jay (aka re-Pete) repeats the last few words every sentence just in case you missed it…thanks fellas…
Man I wish this had been a first to 5 or first to 7. And while I'm wishing throw in Yipes and Justin too! Although I'm not sure which coast Justin would represent.
Even though i think Justin is considered more an east coast guy, you could for “balance” purposes put yipes on east coast and justin on west coast, so there’s 2 legends on each team
@@ReCharredSigh two legends in each team? Khaos became a legend already, duc do is also a legend. That would be two vs three. Besides, J. Wong would always be on East coast.
Edit: I honestly thought the comments would contain duc do doing some work but 80% is about the commentators. I give anyone props doing commentating because I could never do it, but damnnn. The commentating started to kinda annoy me ..it reminds me exactly how two young brothers talk and interact. The older brother will say something and the younger brother (who looks up and wants to be like his older brother) will repeat the last 25% of what the older one said ..OR when the younger brother tries to finish the older ones sentence and completely bombs it.
