Akshon Esports you should do mercy or road hog I think it would be a great video because of the amount of changes those characters got and how it changed the game a lot
Sombra would be perfect, as she's been through a lot of changes since her release. And she's always been that meta pick yet people didn't know how to use her in ladder.
I LOVE this idea of a series! God, everytime I'm blown away by the quality of your videos, even if they may take some time, they're ALWAYS worth the wait! I think Reinhardt/Winston might be cool, both haven't received a tremendous amount of changes relatively speaking, yet they've both defined so many metas.
Just joined overwatch three months ago and I've never heard of this game and it surprises me how much history it has. I'm binge watching. LOVE THESE. Thanks.
@@Akshonesports yes please! If so, I cant wait for Hammond (highest skill cap tank) and Brig (aka the meta destroyer and by far the most important and controversial hero ever introduced in OW history)
It was very detailed at the beginning. But then half way through the video it feels like who ever made it felt tired and skipping important updates and events related to Ana. The video didn't feel complete.
What about the brief rise of Quad Tank, where Anas nanoed Reinhardts into each other every team fight - which led to the almost immediate nerf to all ultimate charge rates ?
Loved the video :). Very well made and it was very nice to have the images match the description. As obvious as it seems, it definitely means a lot more research and time working on the montage. Thanks a lot guys, watching your videos is always a great time! As for competitive history, any chance you would consider doing Lucio? It probably is kind of an odd one to look at, but there has been times, even briefly, where he wasn't picked 95%+. It would be nice to have an insight as to what brought him to be benched then :). Thanks again for your great work!
Hopefully Ana will continue to see more playtime now with role lock. Ana meta or no Ana meta, Ryujehong will always be the best Ana player in the world.
Pretty sure it was Ninja's in Pajamas who created the triple tank triple support comp first, and then everyone copied them. Also, what led to the collapse of the 3/3 comp was the nerfs to Ana and Roadhog. Roadhog got his hook and damaged nerfed, so he couldn't get those combo kills anymore. Combined, the 3/3 comp didn't have enough offense to compete with the all offensive dive comp.
Ana really fractured the E-Sports of Overwatch. She’s like the inverse of Pharah on console. So whenever she’s been meta it causes a divide between console and PC players.
I just want her reload like. A hair faster. It feels so oppressively slow, and I usually have to cancel it with some other ability to speed it up and keep my team in the fight. That’s all I want. Pls blizz
@@Akshonesports 2-2-2 looks good but Rawkus comment on some buffs speak for themself. 2 steps forward and 1 backward , i feel this is the pacing of the game
i think its a little unfair to say dva is what created triple tank. in reality road hog was the hero that really co created that meta with ana. burst kill options werent nearly what they are now in overwatch back then, hanzo was inconsistent, junkrat had 1 mine and self hurting grenades along with a bad ult, widow and mcree just got nerfed, doomfist obviously didnt exist, and reaper i'll get into later. this kinda left tracer and genji, and without nano genji wasnt that good at fighting hog so that leaves only tracer. even ignoring that the hog was a different beast then we like to remember. for starters his primary fire hit a lot harder and consistently one shot every dps with ease. you could alt body shot a reaper to death with one shot if you spaced it well. theres also the matter of the hook. while its always been great hook 1.0 was on a whole nother level; it pulled you closer than it does now, it never broke once it latched regardless of what you did and even ignoring that it was only a 6 second cool down meaning you out paced both of zaryas bubbles. once people realized that his only real counter was himself, and that ana was amazing at healing tanks people didnt hesitate to use the over glorified dps instead of a conventional one. this is most evident by the fall of the previous meta definer reaper, without beyblade he needs to use an ability to get behind the enemy, which takes time, throw him self behind enemy lines with 250 health and use his last ability to get out alive with his only self sustain being the shitty soul orbs. compare to road hog who with about 2.5 times the health and a self heal for half that amount can drag 1 guy to 6 people with weapons trying to kill him and its not hard to see why people didn't really want any other dps. especially considering the biggest weakness hog had being giving shit tons of ult is kind of negated when you can pretty much beat every ult at the time with hook. it didnt help that lucio boosted people about twice as fast as he does now so sticking together was much more viable than trying to separate for a flank. hog was also way more essential to team fights for triple tank. a huge part of triple tank was getting that quick instant kill that set the odds in your favor immediately. victories were more or less determined by which hog killed a guy first during the first encounter. dva was simply the safety net to try to insure that didnt happen to your team. overall roadhog really helped define the overwatch development in the years to come, limiting a hero's role a lot to try and prevent characters from obsoleting other ops in every way the devs immediately nerfed him into the ground while leaving ana at "a little to much effort for the reward". to put into perspective, the idea of dive comp at the time was seen as a fruitless effort, roadhog would simply destroy it single handed. post nerf it became the most run comp for the longest time with the next 4 heroes being implemented with tools that what help combat it. to say roadhog wasnt the hero who shaped the triple tank meta is like saying Brigitte was a filler character for goats or that winston was bad on dive comps.
Agreed, this team clearly didnt play during release i find most of the info to be a bit jumbled and out of whack like this idea ive herd in a few videos that "triple tanks was the first meta", makes no sense if you played on release.
