I like how the characters are growing and changing as the series goes along. The Universal Will didn't make Elphelt with the idea of her living any kind of life for her self nor did the creatures from the Backyard have much experience with Human emotions so the result was that the marriage crazed Elphelt was a bit of a mess. Elphelt is still a romantic and she's still a little obsessed with that but she has her own interests now besides that and other things she wants to live for that have helped even her out a little more. The irony is that I think this cool rocker girl who is brave enough to go out and sing in front of other people is a lot more appealing of a marriage candidate than a weirdo who runs around in a wedding dress and falls head over heels for every stranger they meet. Like, you might actually want to get to know Elphelt now where as before if you actually think about how she was she'd probably just be kind of off putting if not downright scary. I really like the new direction.
I love the comments saying the design changes are bad because it outs people as to never playing guilty gear because the outfit changes are lore accurate
I like the new design, much more than the old, but i understand why people would prefer the old one (not that i am trying to convince anyone of not liking the old one). But i feel this new one encapsulates Elphelt's growth, her obsession with marriage was/is in a way a need to affirm herself in this world, she is a (to put in simple therms) homunculus, made with more than a little malicious intentions. When you look at her idle animation of her sleeping you see the way she stands, in the old one she was "prim and proper" making herself small, now she is all goofy and relaxed. The simpler design is her shedding some unnecessary parts from her, keeping certain things but changing some of her approaches. Mind you... i am not really a player of the game, I just really like the lore, design and the music.
I am absolutely baffled by how RU-vid commenters will state their own opinions on everything aesthetically in the game as a fact, like they have no chill
This is a really good analysis and I have to agree that lore wise it definitely presents her as maturing into her own person. But at the same time I feel like she lost a lot of her unique identity as a wedding dress gunslinger in exchange for following a pop idol trope
A good fighting game will make me fall in love with new character every time the revealed. But only Daisuke can make me say "yeah, my favorite character in this game is the big titty Heavy Metal Idol with a shotgun" and have no shame whatsoever.
I mean, real talk on that second part. If someone WERE to hypothetically decide to be said description in the US, I wouldn't hesitate to go to such a show!
Describing most GG characters with just words can sound, rather intriguing to non-GG fans. "Hot witch with a guitar as a weapon" "Big booba samurai with one arm, one eye and is a heavy smoker" "A very sleepy guy strapped to a sentient bed with several blades" "Literal god with ADHD who decides to use *g u n* because it was super funny"
I do wish that there was a way to unlock Elphelt's wedding outfit in Guilty Gear Strive. It's not that I don't like her pop star motif, I just think someone fighting in a wedding outfit, while fighting someone who uses a rifle that fires bullets made from her love, is a very original idea. Plus, I do love both her design and intro in in Xrd 2.
@@sonictj3 Even better, imagine if Guilty Gear Strive had alternate costumes that're based on their previous appearances. Like Elphelt having costumes based on her 2014 Wedding Costume and her 2015 Wedding Costume, in addition to each of them having alternate colors. The same thing applies to all the returning characters of course.
She had that dress bc her program activates in her wedding and she was on a rampage. Right after she was put in surveillance by Ky. Since then until the end of Sign, she didn't change her oufit
definitely a downgrade, the only good thing about the new design is the rifle than look sick, otherwise it suck really bad , wedding dress was 200% cooler
I think both are GREAT, it's a shame we don't have alternative costumes, just color palette swaps. I personally like a lot the twist of her showing love not from her marriage topic but from a new one that is showing people (her fans) love through music... Like japanese idols do (as a concept because idol industry is really fucked up)
While I'm not that familiar with her, I love her current design compared to the past ones. She keeps her chest size but less exposure and her current design is too cute! Overall, a very cute metal head, not that they aren't always that way!
@@ZetsubouGintama honestly I think that was a shitty decision to make bridget trans, a brand new trans character would have suited better than making bridget story do a whole 180 turn which in the end doesn't make sense at all and made it feel like it was forced just toplease people + we lost our feminine man character, since testament is a gear it doesn't really count and unlike other gears like sol or dizzy , he dosen t give a shit how you call him

Honestly, I like both designs. But I really feel like they didn’t have to take too much off her design, for example, the Bunny ears. Her new design is fresh because it tells you how much she’s grown as a character. While she’s shredding unnecessary things about her and wanting to find a part for herself in this world, I kinda wish she at least kept certain design traits from her previous interaction. While the bunny ears aren’t exactly necessary, they are one of the defining parts of her design, plus it does make sense when you consider her whole marriage craze thinking that she also has.
I love that heavy metal music is playing while we get a cute girl in a wedding dress obsessing about marrying someone. that's just Guilty Gear's style. Lol
As much as it seems like her outfit is toned down, I’m glad they aren’t emphasizing on her breasts as much as before, regardless both outfits were cute

old design was more iconic and characterised IMO, right now she is too much of a i-no character, she's like happy go lovey version of i-no(that sings metal)
man what a disappointing new desgin, the old one was so much better. what a shame, in a game where you have sick new desgin like testament or I-no and you get this ....😒

@reinefatoumata8220 new design is very different I also prefer the older design in terms of aesthetics. New design represents the characters better where they are at story and character development wise. But honestly it comes down to preferences.
@@dangbaotray Didn t you think about the possibility about making a sick looking idole outfit than would look better than the old one maybe ? idc than it represent the story better, the new desgin sucks , they could have a made a better idole outfit
