Yeah, Toriyama at his current age won't be able to produce art like what he did before. He doesn't seem to have the energy to divert from his current art style.

It was said cause it took too lynch work to make em bulky, plus Sayians stay in their prime until they're in their 80s.

@@najmashahin9427 i know, it's done by a guy called toyotaro, a longtime fan and imitator, though as good as toyotaro's art is, it doesn't compare to toriyama's at his prime

@Najma Shahin There are character sheets from Toriyama, for BOG, Resurrection F and Super, plus DB Minus. That's how you can see Toriyama's modern style.

I think it was because he was planning to end the series soon so he added the Z on the end since it represents the last letter on the alphabet therefore the final chapters.👍 But it seems dragonball got even more popular and that kinda changed haha. And it was more for his editor as toriyama didn't ink the hair. And with a black and white comic white is a simple way to illustrate a change😃

Though a funny theory, I don't think it would make sense since Toriyama had always written stuff in English for his usual vehicles designs and clothes. I'm not saying he had good English, but he knew how to properly write in our alphabet, so the 2 looking like a Z is highly unlikely. Furthermore, Japanese write our numbers all the time, for maths, for writing dates, etc., so it's even less believable that he would write a 2 looking like a Z. About the hair thing: being Dragon Ball the most important manga at the time, I really doubt that he needed to ink Goku's, Vegeta's and Gohan's hair himself in the case he was tired of doing that. He would've had an assistant to fill those large black shapes, so him making Goku blond when turning to SSJ it's not about saving time inking but to make him stand out,

@@georgezee5173 no toriyama would sketch and ink all main character designs back in the day, therefore ssj having white or blonde hair would be easier for him to rush the chapters out, toryiama had a small team of like 5-6 people in the prime and they usually dealt with background lettering and extras on the page

Well here in Australia there is a Z in the manga also except for the kanzeban edition so I'm guessing it isn't just America :)

@@forgottenrelics1197 we didn't really gf et the anime till the mod 2000's here, so maybe they never bothered to release the manga till the red print was out. Ever since I got into dragonball I've only ever seen the 3 in 1 red manga that came a long some modern toyama illiterati9ns on the front.

@@ms.antithesis Ahhh interesting, that sounds like the kanzeban edition of the manga you're talking about however the release of the anime was pretty much the same here as well being mid 2000's I believe. But there's another edition the vizbig 3 in 1 which is even larger than the kanzeban and has some original color pages aswell which is has the Z in the title unlike the other release so it can get a little confusing haha

Yes, it It really was. Specially if you're talking about Toriyama's old art style. In my opinion, his art started to get a little underwhelming as time passed... not that is his fault, of course! Since he was always so busy with this kind of stuff, is no wonder why he chose to simplify it a bit with the more sharper/blocky look he gave to his characters around the time he was writing Dragon ball Z. My only real problem with that, is how almost every character looks the same with the facial expressions and more bland backgrounds. I really like to think that Toriyama's prime was around the Dr. Slump and Dragon ball era.

@@AirAmour even ppl nowadays only copy late dbz art. I havent seen much ppl copying early dbz. Raditz and saiyan saga especially is so stylized
