DISCLAIMER - This video discusses and shows temple clothing, temple rituals, etc. If this is upsetting or offensive to you in any way, don't watch! This is stated in the video multiple times, but I want to provide ample warnings to make sure you don't see anything you don't want to see. I don't want people to feel ostracized or uncomfortable, but this is REAL. This was a HUGE part of my life, and I should have the freedom to talk about that. I didn't know what I was getting into when I was baptized OR when I went through the temple. This is not new information, it's not "exposing" anything. The temple rituals (and their close relative, masonic rituals) are available to view and learn about online: • Mormon Temple: FILMED ...

When my mom found out I was "having doubts" she thought that getting me endowed would save my testimony. But getting a temple recommend would have cost me thousands of dollars in the tithing money I'd stopped paying, so I watched this instead. I officially decided to leave that same day! Now, nine months later, I'm happier than I've ever been. Thanks so much for doing this!

@Mikecoltharp

Why do you think getting your temple recommend would cost you money? They do not cost money. They do not require you to pay back-pay on your tithing to get your money. Tithing is optional as well as your temple recommend. I’m glad you didn’t get one. You obviously are not ready if you think going to the temple would help your testimony. A testimony is a personal thing between you and Jesus Christ. The church’s sole purpose is to help you get closer to Jesus Christ. They don’t force anyone to do anything. It blows my mind how many falsehoods are spread about our church. It’s ok to have doubts. It is your job to deal with your doubts as you please.

There will be influences from all sides trying to poison the Church, we know this. But what about the people that they have "destroyed"? I'm resilient and know the Gospel but I just found out recently that not everyone is like me. Well, the ones that do Church work in their own way will be held accountable and it won't go well. It’s not a secret. This is spoken about in the Old Testament. The name is sacred, yes. Remember, even temple workers are human. No body is perfect. They all respond to things differently. There is evidence of temple Worship throughout the bible. There has always been different rituals and many religions worship and dress in certain ways. Do we make fun of how the pope dresses?? How a rabbi dresses? A muslim? This is no different. Easy to mock what you don’t understand or something that has no meaning to you. I assure you that there is so much more to latter day saints and Christ’s church on the earth. The mormons you met were happy bc they are filled with light and truth and follow Christ. I went to the temple one weekend, learned everything about the history over the next week, and resigned officially the next weekend. I haven't been back since. I had loved the temple and even was a temple worker. I honestly am crying right now because I just needed to see these rituals done in humor and education, outside my experience in the cult. @bombadillo2. I’m so sad that you left the faith. Do they really? But Latter-day Saints had been tried since the early Pioneer days, even now and will be up to the second coming of Christ. Why? In D&C 136:31-33, the Lord says, “My people must be tried in all things, that they may be prepared to receive the glory that I have for them, even the glory of Zion; and he that will not bear chastisement is not worthy of my kingdom. Let him that is ignorant learn wisdom by humbling himself and calling upon the Lord his God, that his eyes may be opened that he may see, and his ears opened that he may hear; For my Spirit is sent forth into the world to enlighten the humble and contrite, and to the condemnation of the ungodly,”

As a mother, grandmother, and ex-Mormon in Utah of nearly 50 years, I never went through the temple because of the things I had heard you have to do. The thought to me was nauseating and scary at age 18, let alone wearing garments for the rest of my life. Any testimony I thought I had was pure fear stoked by the hierarchy of Mormonism. My sweet grandmother was a Methodist and the best person I have ever known, and the LDS Church was telling me she was not going to Heaven. That really was the last straw. I have to say that I never believed Joe Smith was a prophet of any kind. I know the history of the church and country at that time, and I couldn't fathom his plagiarizing parts of the Bible, the CES letter, and the Book of Abraham, among others, as anything other than blasphemous to the real word of God. Smith was an opportunist and a criminal, nothing else. It makes me happy to see that other people have seen the light and have studied their way out of the Mormon Church.

Jacquie Fraser Because of this love, it is the nature of the Father to improve everything and everyone to the extent that they will allow. Out of preexisting chaos, matter unorganized, the Father created an orderly universe. Out of preexisting intelligence, he begat spirit children. Even those of his children who will not cooperate and obey, and who cannot therefore become like him, he still saves, if they will allow it, and places them in lesser kingdoms of glory (D&C 76:42-43; see Salvation): "For behold, this is my work and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man" (Moses 1:39). The love of the Father is not limited to those who worship and obey him, although their rewards will be greatest, but it is extended to all of his children.

They were actually considering not letting me be a part of dressing her because I would see these sacred clothes and I wasn’t supposed to. They ultimately decided to “allow” me to actually take part in it but I was very offended that they would even consider not letting me see my own mother. Growing up in the church, the temple is hyped up so much in talks and in family circles that I couldn't wait to experience this supposed awe inspiring, life changing event. Then when I finally went, I was so disappointing and freaked out. What a huge let down it was for me. One thing that stands out in my mind growing up was hearing talks and testimonies about how there is so much to learn in the temple and how you have to keep going back as often as possible. The only thing I learned was that I had been duped my entire life. It's not only a con-job. It's got to be the biggest con-job ever perpetrated in the United States.

This… exaclty how I felt. But despite that, I have a strong testimony, due to personal relationship I have with Jesus Christ. I know it’s true and I’m ok not understanding the nuances, including the temple, until Christ comes and all confess that he is the Christ and this is his church. It was hard for me, and it was a let down bc I just couldn’t have determined how much anxiety and awkwardness I would feel with in the temple, but despite that, My testimony is that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints is Christ’s church on earth and he is at the helm. I trust him.

I was a Marine Corps Recruiter in Provo and met my Wife who was a senior at BYU. To make a very long story short, 3 years later I joined the church because I wanted our children in a church family. One year to the day, I was on my knees still asking if the LDS church was true and what I should do. I was hit in the head like a brick and told to "Come home". I left the church, was patient with my freaked out Wife and eventually showed her who Jesus really was. She has always said it was like having chains taken off of her because she could never be good enough in the LDS church. Her Mom actually wanted her to divorce me, but she held her ground. 33 years later, we are still in love and know that Christ and Christ alone is salvation. I was a priesthood holder and learned things as a man that she never knew after years of being a Mormon. It is glaringly full of false doctrine. I think one of the things my Wife likes the most these days is Coffee!

I never liked going to the temple. The first time I did was in the time when the “blood oaths” were part of the ceremony. I didn’t go back for 25 years when a friend talked me into renewing my temple recommend, assuring me that the ceremony had changed. The changes made it no less weird and I never felt comfortable. What does changing the side a robe and sash is on and removing and putting back on shoes have to do with following Jesus? I beat myself up over the feelings I had, told myself I just wasn’t worthy enough. I had visions of getting to the “gatekeeper” after my death and forgetting which sign was what and that I wouldn’t be allowed in because of this. After 5 years and a few more temple trips I realised that only a cult would have this kind of ceremony. I left the church. I’ve been much happier. I am in a lovely church with great people and a pastor who preaches from the Bible. Thank God for that.

I will say it was always curious to me that she was LDS at all (although I understand that "tradition" mixed with family pressure plays a HUGE roll). She was very much a feminist and liberal-minded, highly highly educated (professor at a very well-known, distinguished university in a predominantly male-dominated field), and just generally didn't fit the bill. Now I have a neighbor who is LDS, but her husband and children aren't and never have been. I actually found out I went to high school with her sister and had the opportunity to see her recently when she came to visit. She stated of five children in her family, three have completely cut ties with the church, one barely has their toes dipped in (my neighbor, I think), and the other likely will never leave because of combined fear/indoctrination. Anyway, I'm rambling on your point. Lol! I just find this sort of thing interesting because I was lucky to not grow up with forced religion. I was allowed to go with friends and my parents supported that, but we NEVER went as a family. And at 43, I still don't know what my parents believe. And quite frankly, it's none of my business. i think the reason they stay is the fear that they’ll get punished, the promise of greatness in the next life or a combination of the two

@@nemostomp This is true. Being raised Mormon you feel like you are still sinning if you walk away from it even though you don’t believe in any of that bullshit. Indoctrination is truly a horrific thing.

@@klarag7059 thats very sad but its their problem . people cant do things to please others if ones heart is not in what ever it is then there is just no point . if family etc get upset and maybe annoyed then they are at fault because they must know the person would only pretend and not believe .

I just want to add, I went through pre-1990's and we had the tokens, signs and...penalties. We also had to use the "Adamic" language to call Elohim "Pay-Lay-El" instead of the "Oh God Hear the Words of Mouth". I tried to explain my friends who never went through. The best explanation I could come up with is, "With the audience participation and costume changes, well it's The Mormon Rocky Horror Picture Show".

Are you saying the Church of Jesus Christ is a Cult? RU-vid: "Not Christians?! Why?" also on RU-vid: " Come unto Christ, Alma 30"! compare with " Come Unto Christ, Mosiah 27"! Who is who? Who is following the Gospel of Jesus Christ? And Why? The doctrine of Christ or of Man? Are you like Alma the Younger or like Korihor? Which life do you live and why? It is your Choice! Choices come with consequences or Blessings! Cluty or the Church of Jesus Christ! Does your Salvation depend on your Choices? then Choose Wisely!

Thank you both for revealing all today, I had wondered for years what was with the Sacred Mormon Garments, now I kinda know more than I wanted too. But what the heck, since you two have gone this far, can you please quench my eternal curiosity by each holding up a pair of Mormon Undergarments. That would be such and hoot, just hold them up and talk about the absurdity of it all. As for watching you two play that game drunk, why not, your channel has done so much good in exposing what a nut bag cult Mormonism is, why not have some fun at their expense. You two are so good hearted about the whole thing that it speaks well of both of you. Let the games begin.
