She has made a career of it. Scientology has nowhere near the influence it used to have. They don’t even make their money from members anymore, but mostly real estate. I hope she takes it further against cults in general. Not just sticking to Scientology. Is there anything we don’t know about it anymore?

she's one of 'us', not one of 'them'. you cant buy that kind of instant connection. i would imagine that she suffers from peoples jealousy- i get the impression that a lot of 'celebs' strive for 'celebrity' and when they achieve it, they then spend their time saying "hey, i'm just like you. i'm a average joe." but that kind of empathy, relatability comes from sincerity and Leahs got it in spades.

What I love about Leah is that interviewers constantly try to give her an out so she can take some blame off of herself but she never takes it and always owns up to her mistakes like “no, I did and said these things, I actively participated in this because I believed it was the right thing to do”

She really believed in what she was doing! As did all the others that finally managed to escape that she interviewed. I watched every one of those interviews she did with Mike. It was positively heart wrenching! This entire ordeal has really done a number on every single one of them. I would be in tears after every interview. I would love to see Misgavige hung out to dry!

Love you, Leah. I left the Church of $ as an OT III Class V, after I noticed that nothing had changed in my life as promised from all this auditing and training. Every time I told them I hadn't seen any gains in real life, I was always told "You need your next level". It was always the carrot on the stick that kept getting farther away. Leaving was when I realized I was free.

Back in the early 2000s I saw Leah in a Scientology video and I told my husband that she would never leave. I heard that she was indoctrinated as a teen and I thought that I would never see it. So glad she left and is helping others.

Yesterday I watched her interview with Howard Stern from years ago. It is UNBELIEVABLE how she has changed for the better! I ( with the knowledge now) could clearly sense her meandering when ever she was asked about her Xenureligion ...just because she sincerely believed they would die if they found out the truth as nonbelievers. Now she finally behaves and talks like a human being!

Theroux is not really interested in her or anyone's side of any of his "in depth" interviews. He has a long history in UK of producing garbage TV. His MO is to appear to emphasize or sympathize with the victim's, sorry target's, sorry interviewee's pov. However his main aim is to take the piss and ridicule anyone in range. Most people in UK know him and his programs of old so consequently ignore him. Definitely best avoided.

I've been involved in a cult and I was treated so badly. And It took a while but eventually I saw the wood through the trees. And left. Mocking, criticising and turning your back and talking badly about Tom Cruise doesn't help him. Unlike my experience Tom Cruise is treated like a king. And he has been involved with Scientology for over 30+ years. It's been the longest relationship in his life! He is fully caught up in the net. We just have to hope one day he sees the wood through the trees. And leaves. And I'm pretty sure they will use every intimidation and manipulation and trick to make him stay.

Wtf are you talking about??? Tom Cruise was not manipulated or born into it, he came there voluntarily, he is not a victim - he's the perpetrator, he's one who has the power there. Who do you feel sorry for? What about REAL victims? Cruise will never leave as he is ''the king'' there, he has the power, he believes it, he is deeply rooted there. His choice - unlike in the case of so many victims.

@@unclejimbo9881 its more that the time is limited, Louis knows most of what she is going to say, so he is steering the conversation and jumping in to expand on specific point so it doesn't become a 15 minute monologue (leah talks fast and at length) It looks like interrupting but it's actually getting more information to us the listener.

I get your point though if you haven't seen Theroux before but believe me he isn't that type of interviewer. Plus tbh he already knows her so it was a bit more like a conversation. The whole interview on his podcast is worth a listen.

I love Leah Remini. She has such a strong opinion though, and she's using it in the best way. Idk if it was her years in acting or her past in scientology but if she came up to me on the street talking about a cult. I'd follow, which is why I'm glad she got out. L. Ron Hubbard pulled off one of the biggest scams in history. I think at the end of his life I heard he was getting 1 million dollars a week in cash from scientology and that was in the 80's. I wonder if Miscavige was one of the people delivering it to him.

You can see from Leah's experience of childhood indoctrination that it's the same with all religions/cults. Like St Ignatius Loyola famously said: "Give me a child till he is seven years old, and I will show you the man." Fortunately, this doesn't hold true for everyone, as Leah so magnificently demonstrates. Nearly every mind can be free from religious indoctrination, given enough time and compassionate counseling.

I think it’s great that she speaks her mind. At the same time, from what I understand, celebrities that “get work” are simply in a different club that is also questionable. I still like her though.
