I'm a veteran so yes PT and training usually gives you an advantage over most people. Even if you fight the same person it will never be the same. I really believe Bruce when he said be flexible be calm but ready adapt. I don't believe in a set routine or thinking I will do this or that before the fight. I carry a medium size folder as well but I never think of it as an attack tool. I'm better at defense so that's my focus. If I have to end it I zero in on the throat almost always. If or when that chance comes I take it. It's a pocket knife my only thought of a stab would be the skull. Kept screaming sharp the throat Is very easy to open wide. You came across as very adept guy on dual survival.

For those who do not know: because flesh is plastic (flexible) a 3.25" blade can inflict a 7" deep stab wound when some force is applied.

The bloodiest crime seen I ever saw during 23 years in law enforcement. I family dispute gone bad there was blood throughout every room in that house with multiple kitchen knives used. The victim had multiple stab wounds in EVERY PART of the body. Numerous stab wounds through his hands and a few steak knives that broke off in his body. It was obvious the attacker kept grabbing additional knives throughout the struggle as many broke or got stuck in bone. There wasn’t a 3 square inch area on his body that didn’t have a stab wound. Inside the home you could almost visualize the struggle there were bloody hand marks on walls as well as areas were the victim slid down the wall then crawled from area to area.Attacker fled then killed 3 other people before being caught.

Great video. New to your channel. DAD sent me my first knife on his first tour of Vietnam. And another during the tet. A few knives later. Suddenly my AAR turned into AARP. In my 60s I still practice with my original 9in Super thrower. Bought several Cold steel of same dimension's. Im not sing throw your knife. I do it for fun and exercise nowadays. Back in the 60s I did it because I wanted to learn how to do it.

I carry Spyderco's. Got a PM2 and a Resilience. I like the Resilience better due to that big blade and ease of opening. Sometimes I carry a knife called the Stryker that's equipped with the Emerson wave feature. The blade hooks on my pocket as I draw the knife. I learned to use my blade in Vietnam. A kabar. I'm Cherokee. The instructor that taught me was Cheyenne. He was dangerous. Very. Magician with his kabar. Joe made good points about using what you are. I'm long waisted and short legged. If I want to kick someone in the head I have to bring his head down to a level that I can reach with my foot. We must learn to work with what we have. Different Strokes. Been-there-done-that As I write this I'm sitting on the couch nursing three cracked ribs. I'm 71 years old. Two younger guys in late 30s possibly one was in his early forties decided it would be fun to push an old man around. Well long story short I don't push worth a damn. Yeah one of them cracked three of my ribs but they're both still in the hospital and I'm sitting home on my couch. I had the advantage of surprise. They didn't expect a mean old man that have been taught to fight. Yeah I think it's safe to say that they were definitely surprised 😮 but frankly...so was I.

Beware of quiet small old men who aren’t afraid. I was in two knife fights. One we weren’t trying to hurt each other, just testing two different styles. But one was a jealous ex. By controlling distance and energy expenditure I wore him down. Finally got him disarmed and made sure he wouldn’t be waving his arm around for a while. At the end he was exhausted and I was still calm. Spirit leads mind and mind leads body.

A 3-3 1/2" blade, when thrust by an "average size male(WhateverTF that is🤷🏻‍♂️)" will penetrate 6-6 1/2", which will reach out and touch ANY organ in the human body As former federal LE, where I spent 4 1/2+ years in deep undercover(Group I UCO for those familiar), I was involved in 3 knife/Punch dagger encounters. My pocket fixed blades had/have 3.25-3.50" blades, with my Punch/T Dagger blades being 2-2.75". Continued Success👊 RP

I will amplify some of the comments: 1. practice knife fighting is dangerous. Within two minutes, someone will be bleeding. I saw a woman injured before a class in kukri fighting was even started. She went to the hospital. In a two student class, between the two students and the instructor, two were bleeding within two minutes and we were experienced and careful. 2. practice knife fighting is the most exhausting exercise in the world. To describe it as a martial art on steroids is an understatement. 3. the skill is in the person, not the instrument. Brutal? How about learning how to clear a trench with a khukri knife or dispatch a sleeping person? 4. situational awareness counts for a lot. There will always be a bigger shark. I am older. When you two guys were a twinkle in dad's eyes, I walked the Khyber Pass, looked straight up 3000 feet and remarked that I didn't think that I could do that trip over the mountain tops as other people were walking up on top. So avoid fighting if you can.

A 31/2 inch blade will penetrate 2 or 3 more inches more than it's 31/2 blade because a human body will compress like a pillow when stabbed in the solar pexlus. or the kidney or liver area.
@rbr1170
@rbr1170 11 месяцев назад
And is why you usually aim for the abdomen part. The chest area has too many ribs in the way to get lucky. You also run the risk of cutting your hands (when your knife is already bloody) as you strike a bone and your hand slides from the handle to the blade. Abdomen and neck are the best targets for stabbing. Arms and legs for slashing attacks. The body and hands are often in the way to get a good slash to the neck.

He changed his mind after I found him and said, "I heard you were going to fuck me up so I came down here to take my ass whipping face to face." He was sitting on his barstool and still taller than I was standing. He said," Sit down, let me buy you a drink." "After you get down here and found me, I respect you now as a man, so we're good." I think we really meant was "you are a crazy son of a b**** to come down here and find me, so I'm a little bit afraid of you." I was so glad to hear that because I literally didn't want to get my ass kicked from behind by this guy so I literally went down there to take my ass whipping face to face. I don't know what you craziness you guys think is out there. I live in New York City. I take the train, the bus and walk to and from work every day and there is little, to no craziness. Everybody is too damn tired. We're just trying to survive and get to and from work. Yes, there's homeless folks but they mainly sleep, walk around, or sometimes ask for money. They tired too. Everybody in New York is too Gotdam tired for bullshit. Most people know to walk away from potential BS. Homeless in the subway car? Move to the next car. Crazy person? Move TF away! One pm, or 3 am, mind your business and don't engage. I do try and keep a buck, or two, handy to give to someone panhandling, but nobody is expected to do so. I sometimes have extra water, or snacks and will sometimes give that away. I keep my cash separate from my wallet. Wallet has your w/license, credit cards, etc. Throw the cash on the ground and run the fuck away is my strategy. Keep your papers separate from your cash! Cash can be easily replaced. Your Driver's License and credit cards, etc. take time and effort time to replace. I have been lucky and I thank God I have not been robbed, or mugged. I also try not to get into that situation. I never wear headphones, or ear buds. I keep awake and aware of my surroundings. Like a fighter pilot, keep your head on a swivel. Look around! If I hear someone behind me, I will turn my head, or stop and look to see who's there. Stay Frosty!

Throwing knives overhand and throwing my legs over Enduro and motocross bike sunce mid 1960s. Now days it's Cold Steel throwers and a long distance Factory Race Bike old like me. Its outdated but still capable XR650R. Not L. When I cannot do either I'll think about slowing down. My Son sent me a shirt. Never underestimate a old man on a dirt bike. Still laughing Everytime I think about it. That lil kid was me. As he past he gave me a stone spray sandwich from a CR500. Old Carlsbad Race track does not taste good.
