Army here with a lot of marine friends. You’re correct. He’s a marine. But to the civilian population, the headline: “Marine fighting in Ukraine” has slightly higher risk to the population. People are dumb and read it as “ *Marines* fighting in Ukraine,” and that would be a whole thing. 😂

The only part of your comment that I take issue with is that this is "another country's fight." This is a fight for the values of freedom, justice, and democracy. These are the founding principles of the United States and the fight for their establishment as the guiding philosophy for the entire world is the responsibility of ALL individuals and countries who believe in these principles.
I feel a bit guilty saying this since i don't want America to formally put boots on the ground, but i'm glad our brave volunteers can put their excellent training to good work to help our ukrainian brothers. Ukraine is NOT part of NATO. They've contributed no money into it nor have they helped financially or via military the United States during the Iraq and Afghanistan war. The ONLY thing they did during those wars was to allow the US military to land planes there to refuel. I don't support Ukraine, Russia, or the US involvement in this proxy war. All could have been avoided by agreeing to NEVER let Ukraine join NATO.

But while it takes a lot of mental strength to do what he is doing, a family missing their hero father is worth a whole country able to live free and go home. No one should be obligated to such sacrifice, but no one should be judged for making the choice he made. So yes, he is a hero.

Greetings from Germany, Berlin. I like that Erin Burnett has gone to Ukraine. That shows her real inerest in that topic. I wished there would be more reporters who go to Ukraine instead of sitting in their chairs, especially in Germany. Then they would understand the big need of military help for Ukraine, instead of saying, that Ukraine needs again help, altough we gave them some before.
