Here's song #11 for my upcoming album of Django Reinhardt songs. It's his interpretation and my improv on this classic written by Jimmy McHugh. 10 pages of Chart & tabs at: www.MikePachelli.com
Beautiful! You make me think about my Dad, gone 10 years ago at 85. He was an absolute fan of Django R, so I heard him very frequently when I was a kid. DR was very close with Stephan Grapelli, an outstanding violin jazz player, and they worked hard and composed many songs
Wow! Such a beautiful song and such talent to be able to play it. You like the same music my Dad raised us on: Django and the Beatles. Makes me wonder if you also like the Mills brothers, Doc Watson, Les Paul and Chet Atkins(?).
@Gardner - Like the overwhelming majority of 'prayers' - unfortunately yours too is going to be unanswered. There simply isn't enuff interest to merit me spending the time it would take to properly teach ANY Django song.
Wow that was fantastic Mike I could listen to you play guitar all day so glad that I come across your videos I have learned so much and so many Beatles songs watching your videos enjoy everything you do just can't get enough🎸🎸🎸🎵🎵🎵
I loved that Woody Allen and Sean Penn introduced me to Django Reinhardt in 1999, in the film “Sweet and Lowdown”. The fictional Emmet Ray was the second best gypsy guitarist behind his idol Django. Does that make you the third best gypsy guitarist in history? Thanks for sharing, Mike! 😊❤
Super sound Mike, hats off to you and the double bass player, well done. You must be near completion of the Gypsy Jazz album you are putting together? Many thanks. Ronnie.
Please let us know what we need to do to help you with the release of your Django CD! I know I speak for a number of your subscribers, we want this collection of Django tunes; the Beatles CD was sooo good and I know this collection will be also! Take care!
@paul - Thanks for your thoughtfulness. FYI - after I finish the 12th song I'll do a Kickstarter on behalf of the album. The crowd sourcing is necessary to pay my bassist, a mastering engineer and to find out how many actual physical CD's to manufacture. There will be different levels of support folks can take part in. From a simple download to being an executive producer (with credit in the liner notes).
