It’s one of those things that was never meant to be totally serious. Back in 2002, the text values weren’t found and I didn’t have lots of people I could call upon for voices so decided to go the Monty Python route, else there would be no story. And yes all voices were done by myself, for better or for worse.

I worked on two unfinished RE fan projects.. Resident Evil: The Escape, and Biohazard: Epidemic. RE:TE was an absolute mess, run by a crazy asshole. Lots of in-fighting, and backstabbing led to the project falling apart. Myself, and a couple of members of the RE:TE team formed our own team, and started work on Epidemic, though a lack of staff, and experience led to that project also falling apart. I worked as a script consultant on RE:TE, and co-wrote the script for Epidemic. I was also responsible for level design on Epidemic. We actually got a lot done, and, had it been released, Epidemic would have been, i think, a hell of a good game. I can't remember what engine they were planning to use for RE:TE, but if i'm remembering right (it's been a long time), i think we were looking at the source engine.

its not a full game, but killing floor had a re mansion map that allowed you to replay much of the scenario in between waves.

I think I have played that one, most memorable part was coming to a puzzle having everyone in the server look up at the roof immediately because the previous puzzle solution was on the roof. We died but it was still fun, I was very impressed with it.

Great video mate and congrats on the channel doing so well at the mo too, brilliant stuff! I've been on a bit of a Resident Evil kick myself the last week or two and was really glad to see During The Storm included on the list. Was planning to talk about it myself at some point too, as the full release could be something really special if the team can keep up that level of quality for a longer experience.

That one showing racoon city before the disaster. I've always thought that was a fascinating idea, I always loved the extended intro in half life 1 and thought about how they could do that with resident evil. Will definitely be giving it a go

I don't know if anyone even remembers the game, but my *favorite* RE mod to play, before I really knew the series, was Killing Floor's RE map of the first game. It was brutal on any difficulty, crowding you into little spaces with hordes of enemies who could easily overwhelm you. I never got to the end, but it was so much fun.

A few years back I recall playing campaign mods of RE1 and 3 in Left 4 Dead 2 and it was pretty awesome seeing just how much got re-created using L4D2's assets. I recall the person behind both of them was also working on RE2 campaigns for L4D2, and after a quick google search it looks like they finished them a while back so it looks like I've got something I need to download.

You forgot the L4D2 campaigns by Roku, they are very faithful! (Found on Steam) The RE Survivor Remake on Source (can be found on youtube), and the RE Gaiden being made fron scratch ala PSX era games (it's on twitter if you want to check them)

Is always amazing what fans can do when they are let to experiment. Props to Capcom for letting fans to do fan stuff with their old engines. Imo, it should be a sort of standard for super old software just to be public

Not sure if this would count but there is Skyrim mod that recreates the Spencer mansion and the scenario of the original RE game in a lore friendly way. Essentially, all the zombies are now draugr, the cerberus zombies are wolves, and the final boss tyrant is supped-up troll.

Not sure if you ever covered them but Resident Evil had two mods made for the GoldSource engine. Resident Evil: To Serve and Protect (Which is rather unfinished, and Resident Evil: Cold Blood. (Which is a lot more along and getting rebuilt at the moment.) Also, whilst we're on RE remade for other games, Roku's maps for Left 4 Dead 2 (And the first game remade for HL2) are well worth a play.

Is there any easy way to legit buy the PC releases needed for the mods? Regardless, are there any general, don’t buy this version, mods are hard to run with,or is it you just need these patches added.

I guess beyond buying some copy on Ebay, good luck. You can find the PC releases on internet archive, so I think they're more or less abandonware at this point.

There are some Left 4 Dead mods on the Steam workshop that absolutely are must plays. It's surprising how well the author recreated the first 3 games.
