Many Christians celebrate the entire holy week. Most of the week is reflection on the death & suffering of Jesus and celebrate the Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

It clearly states in the Bible in multiple places to not follow the traditions of men. This video is very misleading. All roads lead to Rome. And that is not the road where people need to go. People, read your Bible, study the word. Pray for discernment.

Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for watching. I have to give you a big "amen!" for your statement "read your Bible, study the word. Pray for discernment." I couldn't agree more. As far as following the traditions of men, Scripture doesn't quite say what you think it does. Jesus observed the Feast of Dedication (John 10:22-23), which is a man-made celebration, so we know that the traditions of men are not always wrong. We have a great deal of freedom in Christ in this area. As long as our focus is on God, and the celebration is not unbiblical, of course, we are given latitude in how we worship. Scripture calls us to unity, not uniformity. Blessings, Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots I just started watching your videos and I appreciate them very much, but you cannot use John 10 to be certain Jesus celebrated the Feast of Dedication. It doesn't say he celebrated or observed it. I could theorize that he was there to minister because he knew there would be a multitude of people there. Its a weak scriptural basis for your conclusion. Blessings

@@shannalemke418 I hear what you're saying, Shanna. But look at it this way: Jesus was in Jerusalem at the temple teaching his fellow Jews _during_ the Feast of Dedication. And the author of the Gospel of John did not find it important to tell us that, despite being in attendance, Jesus was not actually celebrating this man-made festival. We also don’t see Jesus rebuking his fellow Jews for celebrating a non-Torah festival. So I think it’s reasonable to conclude that Jesus had no problem with God’s people keeping a feast not commanded in the Torah. Shalom, RLS

I’m doing some digging and found that during the season of Lent, eggs were prohibited because all animal products were prohibited during that time. But unlike meats and dairy, eggs can last a lot longer and they were used to break the Lent fast on Easter Sunday. And it became a fun thing for kids going door to door asking for eggs to put in their baskets.
@shannonedgar6781
@shannonedgar6781 Год назад
Also, the Easter bunny is actually a hare and originated in Germany with the story of Oschter Haws which is similar to Santa on Christmas but instead gives the children eggs as gifts…
@shannonedgar6781

I’m thankful the eggs don’t seem to have any evil motive behind them but are just good food and we can appreciate that eggs are a good source of nutrients for us whether we observe Lent or not.

I’ll add one more thing regarding the tradition of Easter hams. We’re talking before refrigeration…smoked meats could last longer which is why smoking meat was a thing. And pork is commonly used as a smoking meat because of its composition and the way it holds moisture.

Rob, you wrote the following... @Sundown Sam If a Gentile Christian wants to celebrate Pesach, I say go for it! As I mentioned, I participated in a Passover Seder last year and found it rewarding. A word of caution: Many Jews, including Messianic Jews, find it offensive and a matter of cultural misappropriation for a Gentile to host a Passover Seder. So if you want to celebrate Pesach, I recommend joining a Messianic Jewish family who is hosting it, as I did. I responded three times and it appears as if it is removed. This is what I post, hope it is not removed... Rob, according to Scriptures, God gave the memorial commandment to Israel when he delivered them from Egypt, and in order for the Gentiles who came out of Egypt with them to participate in the Passover, they would have had to get circumcised. Gentile believers being grafted in Yeshua and becoming of the commonwealth of Israel, as one born in Israel, why couldn't they host a Pesach? As long as they fully understand that Pesach is all about a memorable of God's deliverance from the bondage of slavery and a remembrance of Yeshua death, a deliverance from the bondage of sin and from the condemnation of sin, I don't thing it will be a problem, but as long as the message is delivered according to Scriptures. I think that aroma would sweet in God's nostril, especially if both Jewish and Gentiles believers are celebrating it together, but remember that it has to be according to Scriptures. With this being said, may God bless you if next sedar you hold it, and you can do it at your homes among families and friends. Let me make this clear, this is a celebration, you do not need a Rabbi to host it and if they say you do just ask them where in the Scriptures can you find it.

Ex HR here(we left after 7 years). They consider the feast first fruits as the feast that he was risen. It's curious though, that while they put extreme significant emphasis on "keeping the feasts" , I don't know of anyone in that 7 years in, celebrating first fruits, only passover, unleavened bread, (skipping firstfruits), then onto Shavuot(pentecost), and then wrapping up the fall with trumpets, atonement and sukkot. So with as fervent as they are about the feasts I wonder why they only celebrate 6/7, while intellectually acknowledging firstfruits to be on a Sunday, they refuse to celebrate that one feast. God bless you for all of these videos!!
@lisayun8995
@lisayun8995 3 месяца назад
They also put great significance on the 8th day, whether it be circumcision or the 8th day of sukkot, failing to see that Sunday is the 8th day, the 1st day in a seven day cycle is the 8th day and represents a new beginning, a new cycle. whether that be firstfruits/easter sunday or pentecost, or Sunday church... but that Sunday the 8th day represents the newness of a new cycle, a new thing that God did and implemented in Jesus' death and resurrection and the NEW covenant. I hope I explained that well lol

Have you considered the angle that Christ is reclaiming or 'conquering' these pagan holidays (Ishtar, solstice)? He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age." - Matt. 28:18-20 As Christians, we are in the world but not of it, and we've effectively (through Christ's atonement and authority) negated the pagan aspect and replaced with a Christ-centered 'new' feast days. Just another route to the same destination, curious if you've considered this as well. Appreciate all your work and study in these presentations, thanks and keep it up!

God says to keep the feasts as an everlasting covenant! They were never done away with, we see many examples in the New Testament of Paul and the disciples keeping the feasts. Jesus fulfilled Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits perfectly. After Messiah’s death, burial and resurrection, it wasn’t just Jews celebrating Passover, it was also the messianic believers who were still celebrating Gods Holy days with added meaning of Jesus being our Passover lamb! Man’s ways will always lead us away from God, if we use the Bible as our guide and examples set for us in the New Testament we can’t go wrong!

Celebrating Christmas are to some Christians like keeping the Torah is to people in the Hebrew Roots Movement. It's almost like they feel it is required of us as believers, not much different from our HRM friends. Keeping in mind that celebrating Christmas is a farely new thing in western Christianity.
@scented-leafpelargonium3366
Sadly we have no choice as all churches keep Easter. The only other option is to get out. 😢 The Celtic Church in Ireland never conformed to it with Columbanus (from my home town of Bangor, N. Ireland) writing to the Pope calling him a heretic for the invention of Rome's new Easter, eschewing the edicts from the Council of Nicea for over 300 years, until Whitby 664. Now it's the Easterarians calling those who remember the Lord's death at Passover on Nisan 14th heretics! 🙃🤯 I wonder which one is actually commanded by Yeshua for us?
@TheBiblicalRoots
@TheBiblicalRoots Год назад
I would be okay if the Church decided to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus as part of Passover. Passover has nothing to say about a resurrection, of course, but lots to say about His sacrificial death! RLS
@scented-leafpelargonium3366
@@TheBiblicalRoots Exactly! It's his sacrificial death on the date of Passover ordained by God that wrought for us salvation by the shedding of blood without which there is NO REMISSION OF SIN, not the resurrection, or His birth, or His ascension, miraculous signs though they may be and indicative of His mission, but He did not instruct us to commemorate those things with special days, weekly, annually, or both as currently happens with "Resurrection Sunday," but He ONLY asked to "remember" His death, which would naturally be on the "Appointed Time" or "MOED" that God ordained, which falls on Nisan 14th every year in the Biblical calendar the Jews still keep which is a date, not a day of the week as the Gentiles are so caught up on observing, as the day of week is not important, and tying events to such can lead to error in Biblical chronology. (As you will know how most Christians will reject the 3 days & 3 nights prophecy or explain it away) because they have tied themselves to obligatory days of the week which they deem holy and 'special' when there is no Biblical instruction to do so by God, Yeshua or the apostles. 🤔 Many Gentiles teach that we are not bound by God's law due to the crucifixion (not His resurrection or birth) so we can keep the laws more of an option in gratitude towards God, as long as we can choose from our understanding of Scripture which ones we can safely ignore. Then such freedom should be given in regard to Sunday, Easter, Christmas etc., yet nearly every church one will attend these things will be foisted onto you regardless, including services like "Mother's Day" etc., and you are regarded with disdain if you do not tow the line cheerfully, so there is not as much freedom in grace-filled Christianity as many of the pastors claim. Christians are obsessed with celebrating the resurrection of Yeshua (annually and weekly, a new phenomenon in observing things, as it is usually only one or the other, not both), when in fact and from what I can gather from Scripture we don't have to, only to remember His DEATH. That is why Passover is intrinsic, as not only is His death essential to our salvation being wrought, but also Yeshua Himself clearly instructed us to do so with the Passover symbols! After He was crucified He said, "IT IS FINISHED!" There was nothing more to do in order to save us. That was IT at that point! The resurrection happened to vindicate Him because death could not tie Him down, but apart from it being a witness that He was Messiah, it does not add on to His sacrifice and thus makingbit seem that it is His death AND the resurrection that saves us, but that is ADDING to our salvation, when His death was ENOUGH! In fact all the furore about the resurrection can sometimes push His death into the background a bit, with people saying "clever" man-invented sayings like: "It's Friday, but Sunday's coming!" It was the crucifixion that did it, not the resurrection! And the premise regarding Friday as the day is on a shaky foundation anyhow. That is why there is no instruction from Yeshua to venerate the resurrection by remembering it weekly and annually, and if He had have I am sure He would have instructed to do one or the other. If He never instructed it, then no one is bound by it, so that pressure needs to cease. "As often as you do this" does not mean "do this as often as you like," which is the reality of what happens in institutionalised denominations who have a "Lord's Supper" (the term leaving out the word "Passover", as it was a Passover supper, but the Gentiles deem that a step too far as it could be construed as "Jewish," even though the Messiah is a circumcised Jew!), but who would have a "supper" with wine at breakfast time when most people cannot buy alcohol?! 🙃 Christians will keep on defending the indefensible because they cherish their "traditions." 🤯 Shalom (or "peace" for our non-Hebrew friends) 🌿🕊 🙃

Fabulous thanks. Bit confused is not 50 days between Resurrection and Pentecost 7 weeks and 1 day? The Wednesday crucifixion, Sunday Resurrection seems valid but the plus 50 days? Blessings Rob. I used to listen to Lex but felt very conflicted by his inconsistency.

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, if Sunday is the first day, then the following Sunday would be the 8th day, right? WEEK #1 Sunday- 1st day (Resurrection) Monday - 2nd day Tuesday - 3rd day Wednesday - 4th day Thursday-5th day Friday - 6th day Saturday - 7th day WEEK#2 Sunday - 8th day etc... Follow that for seven weeks and the 50th day is a Sunday. Blessings, Rob

Back to math school for Wayne. Sorry and thank you for clarification. Perfect. God blessed me with OCD and numbers are right or wrong. My brain said 50 days is 7 weeks and 1 day. But in context Pentecost happened on day 50 rather than 50 days later. Blessings. Can't wait for your next vlog. I get a calling from God to fellowship with others. I want to casually attend a church. Where can I get good teaching please? I was raised in the Salvation Army, baptised in a Baptist reformed church that taught predestination Acts 8. I want truth not misleading man made religion for want of a better expression. Praise Yeshua.

@@waynehobbs5175 Hi Wayne. I'm not sure where you're located, but I'll bet there is a good Bible-teaching church or two in your area. Finding a good church can take a bit of time since you can really only try one church a week. (Unless you're motivated enough to go to an early and a late service every week at different churches!) Many places in Gods word is says, don’t go to the left or the right, stay on the narrow road, etc. Jesus YESHUA died on Passover, the Lamb of God. He rose on the 3rd day. In ‘23 that was April 5 & 8, Wednesday and Saturday. We celebrated Passover and Firstfruits on those days. But the Traditional Western Gentile church follows gentile Christian culture holidays like Easter. Created by Constantine at the council of Nicaea. That’s a FACT. 1200 years later there’s a Reformation, driven mostly by x-Catholics. Denominations begin to multiply. Do the reformers say, “hey let’s call it FIRSTFRUITS day, or He is risen day, or Jesus is risen day, or resurrection day, or something to that effect? ….. ‘NO.’ They stick with Easter. Coz’ they love tradition. Their god won’t mind. And heck it’s gotta be on a Sunday. Not 3 days after a Passover date that varies year to year. Our god understands. ….. WHAT??? Heirlings, Bible colleges, denominations, limp Louie leaders, and sheep that follow along. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Hey, John! One quick thing: Constantine did not create Easter. Christians had been celebrating the resurrection of Christ for over 250 years before the council of Nicaea was convened. And the English word "Easter" would not be coined until at least 300 years after Constantine died. What Constantine _did_ do was issue a letter stating that all churches should celebrate Easter on the same day (though he didn't specify which day). Blessings, Rob

Point #1.) No... Christians should NOT celebrate Easter! ... They should observe "The Feast of Passover & Unleavened Bread", (The death and burial of Christ), and then celebrate "The Feast Of First Fruits", ( the true "foreshadow" in the resurrection of Jesus Christ), upon the 3rd day, "according to the scriptures"! The Most High YHWH God's Biblical Set-Apart Appointed Spring Feast Timeline: The "Real" New Years Day: = 14 Days before The Feast of Passover ( Exodus 12 : 1 - 2 ) - 14th Day of The First Month = Passover ( Exodus 12 : 6 .. Leviticus 23 : 5 ) ( Day #1 ) - 15th Day of The First Month = Feast of Unleavened Bread ( Exodus 12 : 14 - 20 .. Leviticus 23 : 6 - 8 ) ( Day #2 ) - 16th Day of The First Month = Feast of First Fruits ( Leviticus 23 : 9 - 14 ) ( Day #3 - "On the 3rd Day" ! ) "For I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ DIED for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; And that He was BURIED, and that He ROSE again THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES." ( - 1 Cor. 15 : 3 - 4 ) QUESTION: WHAT SCRIPTURES? ... ANSWER : THE OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES Regarding The Feast Days In Which "Foreshadowed Jesus Christ" ! ... See Also Joshua 5 : 10 - 12 Verse 10 = Passover/ 1st Day Verse 11 = Unleavened Bread /2nd Day Verse 12 = First Fruits / 3rd Day Likewise, in the New Testament: - 1st Day : He died on Passover ( "... for even Christ, OUR PASSOVER, is sacrificed for us:" - 1 Cor. 5 : 7 ) - 2nd Day : He was buried and in the tomb on Feast of Unleavened Bread ( "Therefore let us KEEP THE FEAST... " ( 1 Cor 5 : 8 ) - 3rd Day : He rose again on The Feast of First Fruits ! ( "But now is Christ Risen from the dead, and become the FIRSTFRUITS of them that slept" ... "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: CHRIST THE FIRSTFRUITS; afterward, they that are Christ's AT HIS COMING." - ( 1 Cor 15 : 20 - 23 ) .............................................................................................................................................. Point #2. ) True.. it's Ok to observe the "man-made" Jewish feasts that commemorate actual historic biblical accounts, such as Purim ( Esther Chapter 9 ) .. and .. Hannukah/ Feast of Dedication ( The Book of The Maccabees 1 & 2 and John 10 : 22 )... BUT...But, But, But, But, But! ... We are NOT to take from the nations, the name of a pagan god/goddess, or it's graven image ...or a pagan festival with it's ways or traditions, and incorporate any of them into the worship, or appointed times, of The Most High God YHWH! THAT IS A BIG- NO NO! ...And was a major part of the sin and apostasy of ancient Israel as well ! ( See: Deuteronomy 12 .. Exodus 23 : 13 ... 1 Kings 12 : 25 - 33 ... Amos 5 : 21 - 27 ... Ezekiel 8 ) "EASTER" is indeed derived from the old English goddess - "Eostre", and also akin to the ancient pagan goddess "Ashtoreth", "Astarte", "Ishtar", etc... among the various counterparts of the different pagan cultures... in which this fertility goddess festival was celebrated during, and around the time of, the Spring Equinox... using bunny rabbits and colored eggs ( dipped in blood), as part of the worship ritual... hence also where apostate Christianity has also "picked up" these "rituals" from.. including these "profane things" into the Holy things of God! : ( Where do you think the "tradition" of eating "Easter Ham" even came from? ... Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, wasn't an "unclean pig"!!!... How did our "Passover Lamb" turn into an "Easter Ham"??? ... Once again, from pagan mythology, compromised into the church no doubt! Smh : ( ................................................................................................................................................ POINT #3. ) By the time The Council of Nicea came around in 323 AD, the majority within the leadership of the church, had already gone into apostasy... Even Polycarp, an "early church father" and direct disciple of The apostle John, 1st century AD, refused to observe "Easter Sunday", and even argued that it was never a part of the custom, or "tradition", that he received from John... but was very insistent on keeping - the Day of The Passover, The 14th day of the 1st month, in honor of Jesus Christ. The fact is: NO WHERE in the scriptures, does it say anything about "observing the first "Sun-day" after the full moon, after the Spring equinox"! ... But there are scriptures warning us of the apostasy coming "within the church", even during the days of the apostles.. and even from the book of Daniel! - Daniel 7 : 25 ... Acts 20 : 29 - 31 ... 2 Peter 3 : 15 - 17 .. 1 John 2 : 18 - 19 ... Jude 1 : 4 ... Revelation 2 & 3. ............................................................................................................................................... POINT # 4.) FACT: The significance of the phrase - "upon the 1st day of the week" , really has nothing to do with "Sunday" observance as a "new day" of "worship" as many mistakenly suppose... but has EVERYTHING to do with the appointed timings of the Feast days of Israel by God. Likewise; The significance of Christ resurrection isn't about the day of "Sunday"at all, but about the "day of The Feast of First Fruits"! ... Which also happens to be "on the first day of the week(s)", in the 50-day countdown to The Feast of Pentacost!!! ... Also,, the Feast of First Fruits isn't necessarily always on a "Sunday" either... but IS ALWAYS the day after the "High Sabbath"/ Feast of Unleavened Bread, on the 15th day of the first month. ( See: Leviticus 23 : 6 - 17 .. John 19 : 31 ) ... And for clarity, There are 2 "Feasts of First Fruits"... One is of the Barley Harvest ( The Day after Unleavened Bread ) ... and the other is the Wheat Harvest ( the day of Pentecost ) ... And neither one are always on a "Sunday" every year! Shalom.

Hey, Chris! You said: _Point #1.) No... Christians should NOT celebrate Easter! ... They should observe "The Feast of Passover & Unleavened Bread"_ Passover is not Easter. So, to be clear, are you suggesting Christians should not celebrate or commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in any way? You said: _Point #2. ) We are NOT to take from the nations, the name of a pagan god/goddess, or it's graven image ...or a pagan festival with it's ways or traditions, and incorporate any of them into the worship, or appointed times, of The Most High God YHWH!_ And where does the Christian celebration of Easter do that? You said: _"EASTER is indeed derived from the old English goddess - "Eostre", and also akin to the ancient pagan goddess "Ashtoreth", "Astarte", "Ishtar", etc."_ Are you able to point to one single connection between the Christian celebration of Easter and these other pagan gods and goddesses? (Remember that the *Christian* celebration of Easter does not include bunnies, eggs, or ham.) You said: _POINT #3. ) NO WHERE in the scriptures, does it say anything about "observing the first "Sun-day" after the full moon, after the Spring equinox"!_ Great! We both agree on this. This is exactly what I said in the video. You said: _POINT # 4.) The significance of Christ resurrection isn't about the day of "Sunday" at all, but about the "day of The Feast of First Fruits"! Also,, the Feast of First Fruits isn't necessarily always on a "Sunday" either... but IS ALWAYS the day after the "High Sabbath"_ Right, so Jesus did not rise on Shabbat, he rose on the first day of the week. And the Holy Spirit was not sent to the church on Shabbat, but rather the first day of the week. So the first day of the week is highly significant in God's appointed times! Shalom! Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots .. No sir... "Easter" is definitely not biblical... but "The Feast of First Fruits" is, which occurs on the "3rd day" AFTER Passover, in which is also the day of the resurrection! The word "Easter" has no biblical ties to any "holy day", or "appointed time" in either the Hebrew or Greek scriptures! ... ( So it obviously came into the church later, thru an "outside", "foreign", source! ) So yea, i'm suggesting that "the resurrection of Jesus Christ" be celebrated and commemorated on the actual day of First Fruits, which was WHEN it was/is ! ... It's called "First Fruits" in the bible; NOT "Easter"! ( Leviticus 23 : 9 - 14 ... Joshua 5 : 10 - 12 ... Colossians 2 : 16 - 17 - Shadows of Christ! ( Wherever Christ goes, you will see His "shadow" ... whether in "front" or "behind"! ; ) You're also asking "where" the celebration of "Easter" does "that" ( - borrows it's name, ways, and traditions from the pagan nations!? ) ... Well, exhibit A: The very word "Easter" is NOT a biblical word, or Feast mentioned, or even "foreshadowed" anywhere in scripture, in honor of the resurrection of Christ! ... So is obviously from an "outside" of the church "source"! ... As is also Exhibit B: ,, the celebration of "bunnies, painted eggs, and the eating of swine", in the various pagan cultures, within their festival days, in their ways of honoring their pagan gods/goddesses... and in which are likewise, very prevalent, in the same "ways" that most "Christians" and "Churches", celebrate Easter today. ( * Note: The "weak and beggarly elements" that the "foolish Galatians" were observing, WEREN'T the set-apart days of YHWH ... but rather their old "pagan" - "days, months, times, and years", that they "again" "desired" to be in "bondage to" ( Galatians 4 : 9 - 10 ).. Most likely, i.e -- Easter/Spring"time"Festivals, Saturnalia Festival times of December 21 - 25th, The "day" of sun-god "Sol Invictus", on Sunday... etc... Just to name a few... And i have a hunch, that this same unconverted, pagan, mindset, is how these pagan traditions entered into the Church(es) within the Roman empire. Yes, Christ rose on the (dark part of the day) upon "The Day Of First Fruits", on the "3rd Day" after Passover, ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES ( again see: Leviticus 23: 2 - 14 ) ... which again, is also the "FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK(S)" in the counting of the 50 days/ and 7 weeks ( sabbaths ) unto the Feast of Pentecost! ( again, see: Leviticus 23 : 15 - 22 ). The keeping of "Sunday" on the Gregorian/ or even Julian calendar back then, and even now, is irrelevant, in connection with the resurrection of Christ... It was/is the "Feast Days" of YHWH that "shadowed" Messiah; pointing us forwards to, and backwards to, Him... regardless if any of the Feast days happen to land on a "Sunday".. or a "Monday", or a "Thursday", in any given year! ...( and by the way- "Passover" isn't always on a "Friday" either!) ... Shalom.

@@TheBiblicalRoots You avoided the historical record of Polycarp for good reason, because you are biased and not a seeker of truth. Chris made some excellent points that you carefully sidestepped. Easter is clearly pagan to it's core, and is unrelated to the Resurrection Day of Christ, which occurred on Firstfruits; therefore, when one celebrates Firstfruits, they automatically celebrate the Resurrection Day, without Xtian bunny rabbits and easter eggs hunts, which can be found at your local church throughout the US. source: Britannica -- The English word Easter, which parallels the German word Ostern, is of uncertain origin. One view, expounded by the Venerable Bede in the 8th century, was that it derived from Eostre, or Eostrae, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring and fertility. This view presumes-as does the view associating the origin of Christmas on December 25 with pagan celebrations of the winter solstice-that Christians appropriated pagan names and holidays for their highest festivals.

Rob, I have extensively studied out the significance of the Spring Feasts timeline vs the Mosaic Exodus Timeline vs the Messianic Sacrifice Timeline. These should be in perfect agreement. In other words, Messiah's sacrifice on the cross should have happened on the same Hebrew calendar day as the sacrifice of the lamb for the children of Israel in Egypt. Likewise, the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua on First Fruits should have occurred the same Hebrew calendar day as the retrieval of Joseph's bones at Succoth on their way out of Egypt....etc. I was wondering what your take on the following is: 1 In the end of the SABBATH, as it began to dawn toward the first DAY of the WEEK, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (Mt 28:1, KJV) First, the word DAY was added by the translators to make clear “their” understanding of the verse. But, if day was really intended, why doesn’t the Greek employ the term, “hemera” (G2250)? So, let’s drop “DAY” out of the verse and see if that changes our understanding: 1 In the end of the SABBATH, as it began to dawn toward the first of the WEEK, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (Mt 28:1, KJV) Eh…well, maybe deleting DAY doesn’t really change the meaning since the first of the week is the DAY, Sunday. Ah, but wait, there’s more. The Greek for SABBATH is: Sabbath [G4521] - sabbaton, of Hebrew origin [H7676]; the Sabbath (i.e., Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); …. That PART of the definition makes perfect sense. What about WEEK? Sabbath [G4521] - sabbaton, of Hebrew origin [H7676]; the Sabbath (i.e., Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); ….** **BY EXTENSION, a Se’nnight, i.e., the interval between two Sabbaths; likewise, the plural in all the above applications.** Say what??? So sabbaton is both Sabbath AND week??? Note that that the Greek sabbaton derives from the Hebrew, H7676 - H7676 - Shabbath, intens. From H7673; intermission, i.e. (spec.) the Sabbath Notice there’s no mention of WEEK from the Hebrew definition. So where did this idea of WEEK come from? It didn’t come from the Hebrew. sen.night or se’n.night: n. [ME. Sennyt < OE. Seofon nihta; see SEVEN & NIGHT] [Archaic] a week. (Webster’s New World Dictionary) It looks as though the term sen.night /se’n.night is a shortened version of “seven night” or a WEEK. But it derives from the Old English, seofon nihta, and not from Greek (or Hebrew) at all. So this idea of sabbaton referring to a week comes from the Dark Ages. So, if we use only the Hebraic understanding, we arrive at: 1 After the SABBATH, as it began to DAWN toward the first of the SABBATHS, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. (Mt 28:1, my interpretation) This would mean Messiah Yeshua arose from the grave before DAWN on a seventh day Sabbath? “After the SABBATH”, then, indicates the previous day (a Friday) was the Feast of Unleavened Bread (a SABBATH) which would have been celebrated from Thursday at sunset until Friday at sunset, the fifteenth of Nisan / Aviv. There's much more, but I'll stop here for your comments. Shalom

Oh my. This is what I get for having such intelligent viewers! That's quite a detailed theory, Henry. And I understand what you've laid out. But I cannot subscribe to it. Respectfully, there are too many assumptions and you have connected dots that don't go together. More importantly, your conclusion contradicts Scripture. I am guessing your efforts were driven by a desire to harmonize the dates of Spring feasts that Yahweh gave to Israel with the events of Jesus' ministry. And there is some correlation there. He was sacrificed on Pesach (Passover) and rose from the dead on HaBikkurim (First Fruits). But Scripture clearly teaches that Yeshua spent Shabbat in the grave and was resurrected on the first day of the week. (As I explain at 11:42 and 16:54 in this video). Shalom, Rob
@henryhodgens4312

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, I guess I was really hoping for a little more detailed critique. At 11:42, you simply state that Yeshua, "walked out of His grave on that historical Sunday morning." At 16:54 you state, "…His rising on the third day after dying, which was the first day of the week..." All you are doing is repeating the English. But my argument lies with the translation of the Greek, sabbaton. I'm not alone in my observation. The Hebrew Greek English Interlinear Bible, Jay P. Green, Sr., translates Mt 28:1 as: 1. After the sabbaths, at the dawning into the first of the sabbaths, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the grave. (Mt 28:1, Interlinear). So, Scripture doesn’t clearly teach that He arose on the first day of the week. There seems to be a question as to how sabbaton came to be translated as week. I happen to agree with the three days and three nights by inclusive reckoning. This timing element is all through Scripture. But, if He arose on a Sabbath morning, then He would have to have been crucified on a Wednesday afternoon by inclusive reckoning. That is, any part of a day counts as a whole day and any part of a night counts as a whole night. Thus, Wednesday day, plus Thursday day, plus Friday day = 3 days. And, Wednesday night, plus Thursday night, plus Friday night = 3 nights…three days and three nights by inclusive reckoning. Even by inclusive reckoning, however, Friday day to Sunday day is at best three days but only two nights…doesn’t work. If you believe in the seven thousand year plan of God, then Messiah Yeshua came at the end of the fourth day (fourth millennium)…and we expect Him to return after two thousand years, at the beginning of the seventh day (seventh millennium). So, we might also expect Him to die on the fourth day of the week (Wednesday) and be raised on the seventh day of the week (Sabbath)? In my opinion, Sabbath is way more important than most people realize. Yeshua, then, resurrected on Yom HaBikkurim (First Fruits) which also happened to be a Sabbath in the year 30AD (my guess). Might we then expect another resurrection in the future when Yom Teruah (misnamed Rosh HaShannah by the Jews) coincides with a Sabbath???...realizing, of course, that the Jews have altered their calendar which obscures these events. Yes, admittedly, this is hypothetical on my part but it’s just how my brain works…sorry. While I don’t always agree with 119 Ministries, I do like their logo….”test everything.” Shalom

@@henryhodgens4312 Hi Henry. The interpretation you suggested for Matt 28:1-"after the sabbaths at the dawning into the first of the sabbaths"-is quite problematic. Did the women go to the grave *after* the sabbaths, or *at the beginning* of the *first* of the sabbaths? It is a poor translation of the Greek. Every English translation-across all denominations and eras-renders the second use of the word _sabbaton_ in Matt 28:1 as *week.* "Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week." Here's the thing. Jesus said he would be "three days and three nights" in the grave (Matt 12:40), *and* that He would be raised "on the third day" (Matt 16:21), *and* "in three days" (Matt 26:61), *and* "after three days" (Matt 27:63). Was He confused about how much time He would spend in the tomb? Of course not! These are Hebraic idioms that all refer to the same length of time. And the timeline that Scripture reveals is that Jesus was crucified on Day 1, spent Day 2 (Shabbat) in the grave, and rose on Day 3. The timeline in Luke 24 alone bears this out. There we see that on the first day of the week (v. 4) the women found Jesus' grave empty. Two men in dazzling apparel at the grave reminded them that Jesus predicted He would rise on the third day (v.7). And that very same day (v.13) Jesus appeared to the two men on the road to Emmaus (v.15). Those men reveal that it is the third day since the crucifixion (v. 21). Later that same day, Jesus appeared to His disciples (v. 35). And He reminds them that He predicted He would rise from the dead on the third day (v. 46). So here we see the following things happening on the third day: the women found the tomb empty, Jesus spoke with the men on the road to Emmaus, and Jesus appeared to his disciples. And the narrative also reminds us twice that Jesus would rise from the dead on the third day. So He had risen from the dead on the same day these other events happened. If He had actually risen the day before, then He would've risen on the second day after the crucifixion not the third. Shalom! Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, Your words: It is a poor translation of the Greek. My reply: It is the literal, word for word translation…which is supposed to be more accurate. I think it’s pretty widely heralded that in choosing a version to study, you should select as literal a translation as possible that still makes sense in the English. I know for sure that I’ve heard other Bible expositors state such. Right or wrong, I believe the majority of translators have just gone along with the standard Christian (Catholic?) motif without really examining the issue? Your words: Did the women go to the grave after the sabbaths, or at the beginning of the first of the sabbaths? My reply: Remember that sabbaton can be rendered as singular or plural. So, “After the Sabbath” (singular), refers to the Feast of Unleavened Bread that fell on Friday (Thursday at sunset to Friday at sunset) in that year. “beginning of the first of the sabbaths” (plural), refers to the first seventh- day Sabbath following Passover, and the first in the series counting fifty days to Shavuoth / Pentecost. It’s not that complicated if you are familiar with the Hebrew calendar. Your words: Every English translation-across all denominations and eras-renders the second use of the word sabbaton in Matt 28:1 as week. "Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week." My reply: Yes, but WHY? What etymology allows that interpretation when the Hebrew root, shabbath, for the Greek, sabbaton, does not include the “week” time element…only the day of rest. Perhaps there’s a Hebrew idiom that I’m not familiar with? Every single appearance of WEEK in the NT has to do with Yom Habikkurim / First Fruits. And in every single case the Greek word is sabbaton. Additionally, rendering sabbaton as week seems out of place in at least one other verse: 2 Upon the first day of the WEEK let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. (1 Cor 16:2) If Paul is saying the believers should bring a portion (tithe) in every Sunday, then the vast numbers of Sundays there would be no collection at all since this is an agrarian society…they don’t have anything to bring in except at harvest times. However, if the translation is first of the Sabbaths…that is First Fruits as I understand it …then, they were simply obeying the Commandment to bring in the first portion of their spring (barley) harvest. Also, I believe Eutychus was taken up alive after falling from the third loft (Acts 20:7-12) because this was an anniversary of Messiah’s resurrection on First Fruits. Your words: And the timeline that Scripture reveals is that Jesus was crucified on Day 1, spent Day 2 (Shabbat) in the grave, and rose on Day 3. My reply: We both agree with three days and three nights. However, your example above is lacking one night. There’s the one night between Day 1 and Day 2 and one night between Day 2 and Day 3. Where’s the third night???...and that’s assuming He didn’t arise before dawn when the women arrive at the tomb. If He arose before dawn, then that’s only two days and two nights. Your words: So He had risen from the dead on the same day these other events happened. If He had actually risen the day before, then He would've risen on the second day after the crucifixion not the third. My reply: You are assuming that He was crucified on a Friday to conclude only two days (and one night). Obviously, in the case of a Sabbath resurrection, we can get the day / night count correct if He was crucified earlier than Friday…say Wednesday? Why are you so adamant for a Friday crucifixion? Tradition! Obviously, I disagree with a first day of the week (Sunday) resurrection. If you must stick with a Sunday resurrection, then the only day for His crucifixion would have to be Thursday. This would yield three days…Thursday day, Friday day, and Saturday day…and three nights…Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night, by inclusive reckoning. I know of pastors who believe this and I understand their position. While this is closer to the truth as I understand it, it still does not answer the sabbaton / week issue. This from Wikipedia: Some Baptist congregations,[152] the Philadelphia Church of God,[153] and some non-denominational churches oppose the observance of Good Friday, regarding it as a so-called "papist" tradition, and instead observe the Crucifixion of Jesus on Wednesday to coincide with the Jewish sacrifice of the Passover Lamb (which some/many Christians believe is an Old Testament pointer to Jesus Christ). A Wednesday Crucifixion of Jesus allows for him to be in the tomb ("heart of the earth") for three days and three nights as he told the Pharisees he would be (Matthew 12:40), rather than two nights and a day (by inclusive counting, as was the norm at that time) if he had died on a Friday.[154][155] So, even some Christian denominations look to Wednesday as the day of His crucifixion. All of this is in no way to take away from what He accomplished for us. Without His sacrifice, no one would make it. Shalom

He also said He would be raised "on the third day" (Matt 16:21), and "in three days" (Matt 26:61), and "after three days" (Matt 27:63). How do account for these various phrases referring to the same period of time? Rob

Paul kept it the way it’s recorded in the Torah without changing it to suit the needs of others. Gods feasts done Gods way! As a shadow of things that came (Yahshua as our Passover) and are to come. “Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7-8‬ “For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:16‬ ‭ ““Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths. They shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭16:16‬ Paul was obedient to Gods commandments (given at Mount Sinai) after the death burial and resurrection When the church doctrine is opposed to that idea. Who’s right, Paul or the modern day church!

Hey, EO! Keeping those Mosaic customs and feasts for Paul is no problem. They were never prohibited for Christ-followers. But they are not required. They are optional. This is why the apostle Paul could write, "For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings." (1 Cor 9:19-23)

Rob, when the Apostle Paul said, to them that are without law, he was not stating that the law of God was done away with. He to the weak became he as weak that he might gain the weak. Does this mean that he was weak? This statement was about not burdening the Gentiles with the entire law, which is why he said "except that they abstains from four things. Remember that they had no law, which is why he became as if he was without law. If the Apostle Paul became "as" one under the law and "as" one without the law, then tell me was he double-minded? I guess according to you he believed something else. Question, if he became to the Gentiles as one without law, then you would agree that he observed the law? Verse 19 explains as to why he made the statements in verse 20,21, to gain, nothing to do with dismissing the Law of God. Even to the weak became he as weak that he might gain the weak. Tell me, was he weak?

wow this one I have dealt with a lot for 2 decades, as far as giving an Apologetic for the Feast of the Resurrection, aka Pascha, aka Easter in the West. Although, I think there is more push back on Christmas. It's pretty easy to make this case, in that much of the attacks on this are coming from Conspiracy theory history, like Hislop's "Two Babylon's" rather than actual Christian history. But it is easy to make the case for it as far as celebrating a Biblical Truth, Truth of the Gospel etc. Even if it had inspiration from paganism, that would not make it bad, you have Christians engaging with the pagans like Paul on Marks Hill, and Justin Martyr. There also is a big kicker, and that has come out more in recent years, with Biblical Scholar Michael Heiser and that is that the Hebrew scriptures quite often use the tropes and iconography of their pagan neighbors, subvert them and use them to tell the story of Yahweh. So pagan allusions, tropes, etc. do not equal pagan corruption. Folks got to begin to understand that the Judeo-Christian Tradition is more ancient than Modernity, and it is not culturally European in its origins.

Rob, show me where in the Scriptures does it say that Yeshua celebrated the feast of the dedication. John 10:22 does not mention that he celebrated the feast of the dedication, not even the context of that passage states that. You are assuming that he celebrated that day to justify a celebration of a resurrection day. The covenant of bread and wine was given for the remembrance of his death, have you ever thought why he did not add resurrection as well? Hi Sam! Is it your position that Jesus was in Jerusalem at the temple, interacting with His fellow Jews during the Feast of Dedication (which is all mentioned in John 10:22-23 ff.), but that (a.) He was not celebrating the feast and (b.) the apostle John chose not to mention that Jesus was the only Jew not keeping it? As far as your other question, where/when was the word Pesach replaced by Easter? Are you referring to the King James translation of Acts 12:4 where πάσχα (pascha) is translated into English as "Easter"? If so, I am not sure why the KJV translators did that. It's the only translation that chose "Easter," which is clearly the wrong word to use there. Shalom, Rob

Just because Yeshua entered Solomon's porch does not mean that he was celebrating the 8 day feast. Years ago, a small group of us walked into a place, the men inside the place were all sitting down enjoying themselves, playing cards, having their beers and drinks, I think you got the picture what kind of people they were, mob. Did we enter the place to partake of the nice time they were having? No, we entered in handing out tracts like, telling them Yeshua loves them. Did you read the entire passage? He entered Solomon's porch teaching, they gathered around him, those who disagreed with him because they did not like what he was speaking, wanted to stone him that he had to escape. So you really think he partook of that feast or that is you argument to support a day of resurrection? You did not answer... The covenant of bread and wine was given for the remembrance of his death, have you ever thought why he did not add resurrection as well? As for your second paragraph, you did not respond accordingly. I know from your previous video and response that you made it clear to translate it easter was wrong, but what I asked was... Tell me, why was the word Pesach replaced by Easter, I like you to tell me in a simple paragraph and don't send me to a video, which you fail to respond. Let me also mention this and ruminate upon it... When God made the covenant with Abraham (removing of the foreskin) blood was involved, when Moses made a sprinkled blood he referred it to a blood covenant when the LORD had made, which was fulfilled in Yeshua. When Yeshua said drink this wine, it was a blood covenant. With this being said, it is safe to say that if one removes the Pesach one is removing the blood covenant that God made. Another thing, on your resurrection day, if you are celebrating the resurrection of Yeshua, why are you partaking of the bread and wine when that has to do with his death? See, you want what Yeshua said to do, but you want nothing to do with the Jews, which is why you do not celebrate Pesach. Rob, I have no problem if you want to celebrate a resurrection day, but to replace Pesach, a day that God instituted with a man's made holiday does not please God, you can add in this. I wrote a long post responding to you, some of the questions you did not respond to, nor did you comment on anything I said, which is only. That happens a lot, but I understand why they won't respond.

@@sundownsam3369 Hi, Sam. First, to set your expectations properly, I cannot always respond to every single question in every comment I get on every video. I have a lot of running conversations going on at the same time across a lot of videos (not to mention my other non-RU-vid activities). On John 10:22-23 - I have to say that the idea that Jesus was the only Jew in Jerusalem at the temple during the Feast of Dedication who was not actually keeping the feast-AND that John did not mention anything about it-is pretty far-fetched. Especially since there is nothing in the Torah that says the seven Torah feasts are the _only_ feasts Yahweh's people can keep. If that were the case, then the Jewish people, who live by the Torah, would not celebrate Purim or Hanukkah or all their other non-Torah feasts. You asked, "The covenant of bread and wine was given for the remembrance of his death, have you ever thought why he did not add resurrection as well?" No, not really. But the bread and the wine were given as reminders of his death, not His resurrection. You asked, "Why was the word Pesach replaced by Easter?" But you never answered my question back to you: Where was the word Pesach replaced by Easter? I don't know anywhere that happened except the verse in the KJV I mentioned. The English word Easter does not refer to Pesach, so it was not used as a replacement for the word Pesach. Easter celebrates the Ressurection, not Passover. You asked, "if you are celebrating the resurrection of Yeshua, why are you partaking of the bread and wine when that has to do with his death?" Christians partake of the bread and wine regularly to commemorate His sacrifice on our behalf. In my church, we take communion weekly. On top of that, why would we not remember his death, which led to his Resurrection, which is what we celebrate on Easter? You said, "You want nothing to do with the Jews which is why you do not celebrate Pesach." That is offensive, Sam. And it is also false. I celebrated Passover last year with a messianic Jewish family. I am donating 100% of the profits from my book _Divergence_ to StandWithUs.com, an organization that fights antisemitism. Respectfully, your comment is irresponsible and ignorant. I agree with you that there is a connection between Passover and Easter. In both cases, the shed blood of an innocent "lamb" saved God's people from His wrath. And as far as foreshadowing or symbolism, we could even point to the emergence of Israel on the other side of the Red Sea as a figurative type of "resurrection." But the real resurrection of Christ is unparalleled in all of scripture, and _that_ is what Easter celebrates! FYI The blood that was shed to inaugurate God's covenant with Abraham was not circumcision. It was the blood of animals (Gen 15). Shalom, Rob

Rob, I never said you were anti-semitism, I said you want nothing to do with the Jews, your posts and videos reflects you as one who is pulling christianity away from Jewish believers, or God's chosen. Didn't Yeshua said unto the Pharisees, if ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. He was making a point. Rob, is it safe to say to the Gentile believers, who are now of the commonwealth of Israel, if the God of Abraham and Israel were your God, you would do what he commanded Israel to do? Hoping that this question just opens your mind to the truth of God's word what he made clear when he first spoke. Let me make this clear, I am not saying that Gentile believers are not saved, I gladly, without hesitation called them my brethren, and though we are one in Yeshua, Gentile believers becoming of the commonwealth of Israel, should be obedience to the law of God. I am not talking about salvation, I am talking about believers doing everything possible to be obedient to the law of God. I understand what you said about couldn't the deliverance of Israel from the house of bondage be like a resurrection. So, my question to you, couldn't Gentile believers hold Pesach, commemorating the death of Yeshua, but thanking God that he resurrected? The covenant that God made with Abraham, blood was involved (cutting of the foreskin), though I know what the covenant was about. I will do a research on easter and get back to you because the truth about it is hidden. Another thing, you know that I usually sign respectfully because at times I might sound harsh.

@@sundownsam3369 Hi, Sam! You said "your posts and videos reflect you as one who is pulling Christianity away from Jewish believers" I have to respectfully disagree. In fact, my goal is to honor the true Jewish roots of the Christian faith. You asked, "Didn't Yeshua say unto the Pharisees, if ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham." Yes, and consider the context. Jesus said this to the Jewish leaders who were still under the Mosaic law. You asked, "is it safe to say to the Gentile believers, who are now of the commonwealth of Israel, if the God of Abraham and Israel were your God, you would do what he commanded Israel to do?" No. Under the Sinai Covenant, the People of God (Israel) were made up of the physical descendants of Abraham (the "House of Jacob," aka Jews). Under the New Covenant, the People of God (Israel) is made up of anyone who puts their faith in Jesus, whether Jew or Gentile (Gal 3:28-29). So what God commanded of the ancient nation of Israel is not the same thing He commands of believers in Christ. The essence is very, very similar, but it's not the same thing. You asked, "couldn't Gentile believers hold Pesach, commemorating the death of Yeshua, but thanking God that he resurrected?" They sure could! Blessings, Rob

The third day refers to the third day of the feast of unleavened bread and on this day a sheaf of barley was presented as a wave offering to God which symbolises the resurrection of Jesus. When Mary saw Jesus it was in the early hours of the third day of the feast of unleavened bread and the sheaf of barley was yet to be offered as a wave offering and that’s why Jesus said to her not to touch Him as He has not yet ascended to The Father. This day is the 17 of Nisan the first day of the week and the 3rd day of the feast of unleavened bread. When Jesus said He will rise after 3 days we need to take notice that He meant after three 12 hours day time. So the 1st day was on the 14th of Nisan when He died. The 2nd day was on the 15th and the 3rd day was on the 16th therefore after three 12 hour day is the next 12 hour day and that is on the 17th of Nisan which is the third day of the feast of unleavened bread. When Jesus said in three days He shall rise again He is saying within 3 full 24 hour days that is the 15th, 16th and on the early morning hour of the 17th of Nisan He was resurrected. So if we understand Jesus in these three references to His resurrection then it make sense. Therefore When we think in the way God uses the Hebrew calendar then there is no confusion. Even when you consider that Palm Sunday which was the 10th of Nisan then the 14th of Nisan would be a Thursday not a Friday therefore Good Friday is not the correct day Jesus was crucified but it was Thursday.

Rob, Luis is trying to make a point because the day is Pesach, not easter. If you read Acts 12:1-4, herod the king was intending to bring Peter forth to the people after Pesach, easter did not even exist, and nowhere in the Scriptures did Yeshua instruct the Jews to celebrate his resurrection. The Council of Nicaea in 325AD decreed that easter should be observed on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox. Assuming that the day of resurrection was being held prior to 325AD, what day of the week was it being held and what caused them to change the day? The fact is that Orthodox tradition prohibited easter from being celebrated before or at the same time as Passover. Why would they do that? Answer... they wanted nothing to do with the Jews. Again Rob, you are not seeing it and I continue to point it out... Why was the law removed? Why was the Sabbath moved to Sunday and changed to the LORD'S day? Why was Pesach removed and replaced with easter? Why did they make sure Pesach was not being celebrated by the Gentiles? The Romans, because they wanted nothing to do with the Jews, they distorted the word of God, engraving their distorted teaching in the minds of Gentiles and today many believers have been engraved with a lie? Another thing, why are you take the bread and wine, didn't Yeshua tell his disciples on Pesach to take it in remembrance of his death?

@@sundownsam3369 Hello again, Sam! I agree that Nicaea separated the celebration of the Ressurection (Easter) from the date of Passover. In my opinion, that was a short-sighted and unwise decision. Personally, I would have voted to celebrate Easter on the Sunday after Passover each year. (Because the Resurrection happened during the Pesach holiday, and the Last Supper was a Passover Seder.) However, we cannot technically call the day they chose "wrong" because Scripture does not dictate what specific day the Resurrection should be celebrated. Biblically speaking, Christians are free to celebrate it on whatever day they want. We need to remember that as much influence as the Council of Nicaea exerted on Christendom back in the 4th century, nothing they wrote is on par with Scripture. They were making ecclesiastical decisions that no Christian today should be bound to. We are not called to follow Constantine, but Christ. And the decision of the Nicene Council is not our authority, Scripture is. And, yes, Jesus told us to eat the bread and drink the wine in remembrance of His sacrifice for us. Why? Are you suggesting there is something wrong with doing that? ~Rob

Can someone answer me this, if Jesus was in paradise with the thief on the cross and also in sheol for 3 days
@TheBiblicalRoots
@TheBiblicalRoots 2 года назад
Great question, Stringer Chick! There is no small amount of confusion on this question, which, I think, stems from the line in the Apostles’ Creed, “He descended into hell.” But the word "hell" is a misnomer here. In the Hebrew Bible, the word _sheol_ means “the place of the dead” or “the place of departed souls/spirits.” (The NT Greek is _hades._ ) And because of the modern ideas of heaven and hell (which are more influenced by Dante than Scripture) many people don't realize that the Bible teaches that Sheol/hades has two sides. There is a place of judgment, of course, but there is also a place of blessing (Matt 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27-31). In Luke 16:22, the side of blessing/salvation is called “Abraham’s side” (or “Abraham’s bosom” (KJV).) And its called "paradise” in Luke 23:43. So both Jesus and the thief hanging next to him went to the blessed region of Sheol, to "Abraham's side." Blessings, Rob

Thank you for the video. I know a lot of effort goes into your work. I want to point out that you never mentioned any tangible proof of why Sunday is the Lord's day. You say that the Bible did not mention which day of the week Jesus was raised; it could have been the seventh day or the first day of the week. The Gospels would have said that if it was a new Lord's Day. Instead, in their original form, all four gospels did not mention the day of resurrection because it was unnecessary. Therefore, the day of the week was not significant. I need a little more evidence as to why I am supposed to believe there is a newly appointed Holy Day. In addition, you claim Pentecost (The Feast of Weeks) as a reason for Sunday being a new Lord's Day. Pentecost, also known as Shavuot, is one of the appointed times and has always been on Sunday, as found in the Old Testament. Pentecost did not usher in a new Holy Day. If anything, the Apostles keeping Pentecost is proof of the argument of keeping Pentecost. I commend you; tough, you are on the right track. In summary, Pentecost is a Holy Day, not because of Sunday but because of Pentecost. It just happens to fall on Sunday, always has. By the way, we do not believe the celebration of Easter is Pegan. After all, it really is the celebration of Passover, and at some point, some Christians gave the naming rights to a pagan goddess. Which is historically accurate. We prefer to celebrate the crucifixion on Passover and the offering of Jesus to God on First Fruits. The day of the week is not essential. The specific dates which are appointed times are. God Bless!

But first, I would like you (or anyone) to point to the verse written by the Bible authors that God turned Sunday into a newly appointed holy day. I cannot find it, and if you know where it is, please help me out. Because if the Bible authors wrote it, then it doesn't matter what is historical. I mean, the people of Israel broke God's laws all over the Old Testament. Historically they did not obey God. Who should we follow? God or follow the lead of the people disobeying God? I am saying that it does not matter what day we worship or go to church. It's not even documented by any of the New Testament writers that Sunday was the day Jesus rose from the dead. The most mentioned day of worship by New Testament writers is the Sabbath. It's not even close. The "Lords Day" being Sunday is a man-made concept. The same with easter on a Sunday. We're all just guessing or depending on the tradition of men we know have disobeyed God from the beginning. But what we do know is that Jesus was crucified on Passover. He is our Passover lamb, and that fact defines us as Christians. There is nothing more irrefutable than Jesus being Passover. The Bible does not say Jesus is our Easter ham. It says Jesus is our Passover. I'll patiently wait for the verses that state God changed Sunday into a newly appointed holy day.

John 10:22-23 hardly proves that Jesus celebrated Hanukkah. It simply said Jesus walked in the temple. something Christians always and I mean always never think to look is linguistics. Easter literally means dawn, Eostre was the old English for the dawn and there was a dawn goddess called Eostre. Pascha or Passover is not related to the word easter in anyway etymologically. The festival of Eostre was not so easy to give up so the early Anglo Saxon Christians simply took Passover and used the dawn festivals name to make the new Christian festival palatable. Easter is just a relabel so it is not incorrect to say the word Easter has Polytheist origins.

The Gospels say (notes in square brackets, regular brackets divide the different Gospel accounts, except for six days from John where the precise span of time is clearly defined, and Sabbaths from Greek Matthew where the meaning of the textual Greek plural form is defined in the text): (1) Then the Passover of the Israelites was imminent, and many went up to Jerusalem out of the [whole] country before the Festival to ritually cleanse themselves. (2) Then they sought Yeshua, and they declared with one another, as they stood in the Temple, what do you suppose, that he may not come to the Festival? (3) Moreover the Chief Priests and the Phariseem also charged that, should anyone know where he is, they must disclose it, so they apprehend him. (4) Then 144 hours (six days) before the Passover, (5) [on the second day before Shabbat, being Day 5 (Thursday),] (6) Yeshua came towards Beit Thaneah, where Lazarus was. The one who died, and he raised from the dead...... (1) [Upon Day Six of the week (Friday),] (2) and the High Holy Day having passed, Mary of Magdala, Mary, (the mother) of James (The Lesser, or Younger), and Salome bought (3) fragrant spices (4) and ointments, making them ready (5) that, having come, they should anoint him. (6) And behold, a great earthquake came about, for an angel of Yehovah descended out of heaven, drawing nigh, rolling away the stone from the door, and (7) stood still (8) atop it. (9) Now his appearance was (as radiant) (as starlight), (10) and his garb as white as snow. (11) And from fear of him the guards shook, becoming as dead men. (12) And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, the saints entered into the holy city and appeared to many. (13) A substantial amount of time after the High Holy Day, and Sabbath ('Sabbaths'), (14) even to the passage of the new day (into) the first day (Day One) (of the) seven days (week), (15) Mary of Magdala (and the other Mary) [together with Salome] came to (observe) the tomb, (16) carrying what they had made ready; fragrant spices and some such along with them. (17) And they declared unto themselves, “Who shall roll away for us the stone, out of the door to the tomb?” (18) For it was exceedingly great. The evidence for Day 4/Wednesday as the Pesach when Yeshua was put upon the cross and impaled as the prophetic vision of the Akedah and antithesis of the atonement of Phineas commences in: Gen.1:14 - .....וַיאמֶר אֱלֹהִ֗ים יְהִ֤י מארת בִּרְקִיעַ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם. And spake God, "Let there be a curse in the sky's canopy....." Dan.9:25b, 26-27: The prophecy of Daniel decreed thus: ...unto [the] Anointed One, [a] Ruling Prince, 7 weeks, and 62 weeks...and after 62 weeks he shall be cut off, and [yet] there is naught unto him. And the city, and the sanctified place of God; people of the ruling prince to come shall destroy. And the end, a flood, and unto the end of the war are desolations determined. And he shall cause the covenant to prevail unto many [at] 7 [weeks] (Pentecost). And in the midst of 1 week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to shabbat (desist). And on account of [the] full extent of abominations; a desolation, and even unto the consummation decisively decreed, this shall be poured forth on her to be desolated. Now, let us examine what Matthew actually reads, because it is not all the same: Matthew 27:63 (Shem Tob/G. Howard): And they said to him, "Our lord, we remind you that this is what the liar used to say while he was in life, that after three days he will stand-up and live." Matthew 27:63, King James Bible Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Matthew 17:23, King James Bible And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. Matthew 17:23 (Shem Tob/G. Howard): And they will kill him and in the third day he will rise. The original disciples, the talmudim, of Yeshua Messiah understood two different readings and interpretations according to Moses and Hoshea versus Jonah. There should be a general consensus that the central thesis of Matthew is 3 days and nights but the not so obvious matter may be summarised thus: Bab. Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a-b: ...Tanna debe Elijah teaches: The world is to exist six thousand years...the [last] two thousand years is the Messianic era but through our many iniquities all these years have been lost... Thus a millennium is as a lost day and a night vigil. Hosh.6:1-2, King James Bible: Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. So, in the Psalm of Moses, and in Hoshea, the 3rd day is the one of promise, the Sabbaton and the Sabbatical rest that follows the 2nd Resurrection whereas the 1st Resurrection follows the Sign of Jonah, 3 days and nights.

Without explaining this to people who don't understand the Torah perspective, isn't this doing a diservice to them? You make it sound like Torah observant Christians don't celebrate the resurrection.

In the latest Messiah Matters ( #382 It's All About The Covenant) Caleb Hegg said he believes the virgin birth happened during Passover. He also thinks the Mosaic Covenant was a covenant of grace....not a restatement of the covenant of works...which is why he thinks none of it has been done away with. I did a search. First Fruits of Zion has a Fall 2002 article " Birth of Jesus at Sukkot." For a variety of reasons, some less valid than others, many in Messianic Judaism have an aversion to celebrating the birth of our Master on the traditional Christian dates of Dec. 25 or Jan. 6. That aversion has inspired some Messianic communities to celebrate the birth of our Master on Sukkot. The article includes everything Caleb Hegg believes. The source of this belief is a medieval collection of anti-Christian Jewish folklore.

As Solberg already went over, Easter falls in spring, but you know what precedes Easter and falls on spring too? Spring Equinox and the Goddess name is Eostre, they would have a feast, and decorate eggs just like Easter. Too many similarities for my liking, dig deep and pray to God if he truly wants you celebrating these holidays that are clearly from pagan decent. However, Solberg said he does not approve of how Easter is commercialized and worldly celebrated with Easter bunnies and eggs, they don't worship Jesus right. Solberg you have a dilemma, sadly you are playing in the mud by celebrating it on the same day. God is a very jealous God and does not mix with paganism, worldliness and more. If you want to celebrate Gods resurrection there are many ways such as 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Jesus wants us to remember him this way, not through a worldly made up Holiday that the world celebrates on every spring. Certainly the resurrection was a validation of the work done on the cross. Two illustrations. The cross was the payment, the resurrection the receipt. And all of history is a balanced scale with the fall on one side and the restoration on the other. The cross is the bar. The cross was when God fulfilled his promise to the woman and threat to the serpent. The resurrection is indeed the beginning of the promised restoration. But the work was done at Calvary.

Correct, the Scriptures doesn't say the Gentile believers are forbidden from keeping man made holiday that honor the Lord, and even though the Feast of the Dedication has been celebrated to commemorate a Jewish history event, one has to understand what is Pesach. Pesach is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, in this a lamb was slaughter to redeem God's people. With this being said, Yeshua was the Passover lamb, which took place on Pesach, and on Pesach, before being crucified, he said to do this in remembrance of me (bread/wine), which had to do with his death, becoming the Passover lamb on Pesach, had nothing to do with his resurrection. The First Council of Nicaea established a rule to be independent from the Hebrew calendar, but why? First, let's make this clear, 1) the Jews were being persecuted in Rome, 2) the council of Nicaea wanted nothing to do with God's chosen (the Jewish People), they even had members that wanted no Jews to be part of the council. Now, why they wanted independence from the Hebrew calendar? According to the Scriptures, every month have 30 days, which means that every Sabbath day would land on a Saturday, the 7th day (7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, etc.), the council of Nicaea being that they wanted nothing to do with the Jews, the only way to pull away from them was to removed the Sabbath day, and they did this, by camouflaging their wicked intention by pulling away from the Hebrew calendar, in addition, being they wanted nothing to do with the Jews, they removed the law of God. Now, let the Scriptures be clear... the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. It is safe to state that those who are not subject to the law of God are walking in the flesh and are enmity against God. Rob, I concluded that you want nothing to do with the Sabbath day, neither with God's law, but tell me, are you of the commonwealth of Israel?

Hey, Sam! I love it when we agree on things. Such as the fact that Pesach is not about the Resurrection. @@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, let me also add, being that the council of Nicea wanted nothing to do with the Jews, what they did was rebuild the middle wall of partition that was broken down. 1) If you agreed with the Pesach, then do you hold Pesach to commemorate the Passover lamb, the death of Yeshua, taking the bread and wine on Pesach, Yes or No? If No, why not? 2) You did not respond to my question, are Gentiles believers now of the commonwealth of Israel, Yes or No? If not, why not? 3) Deuteronomy 6:8,9, why don't you start at verse 4, or are you just trying to sought of entrap me? Should we love the LORD God with all? What God commands of us, should it be in our hearts? Should we teach them diligently unto our children, talk of them when we're home, walking by the way, liest down, and when we rise up? All yes. What you did was take what you did not like of that passage and shot it to me. But I will respond accordingly like I always do, something you do not do. Deuteronomy 6: 4 -9, is all about one not turning aside, nor departing, nor deviating from God, and his way, and that it should be all about God. Read verse 25, which will allow you to understand this instruction that God gave. The Tefillin, which I do not do is just a practice of the remembrance of this passage, nothing wrong with that. As for the Mesuzah, God commanded it, didn't he? And if so, should we disobey God? You probably have a cross in your house, right? If so, why, did God command that? What God commands you don't do, what he does not command that you do. You want nothing to do with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Let's go to Deuteronomy 25:5, the yibbum (marrying our childless brother's widow). Is it wrong for me to take my brother's wife if he dies childless? Have you read the story about the woman with seven husband? The question that was asked to Yeshua was... In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.” Without condemning that act, look at what Yeshua said unto them... ye do err, NOT KNOWING THE SCRIPTURES, nor the power of God, then he added... for in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. It is clear from this passage of Scriptures that the yibbum was never removed. The problem is that since christian believers want nothing to do with the law and commandments of God they would look at as wrong. 4) You have not even responded to Romans 8:7... being that you do not subject to the law of God, would that consider you as carnal minded person, which puts you in a state of enmity against God? It is clear from verse 3,4, that the law of righteousness is fulfilled in those who walk after the Spirit. IT is safe for me to state that if you do not subject to the law of God you are carnal minded, enmity against God, and that is not me saying it, it is clear in the Epistles to the Romans. Rob, the more I hear your videos the more I see you want nothing to do with God's chosen, which is why you want nothing to do with the law of God. Sad! Let me make this clear, there are covenants that God made with his chosen that do not pertain to the Gentiles, and some of the practices that God commanded Israel, Yeshua fulfilled. To say that the commandments of God is for the Jews, and stepping away from them says a lot about you. Was Passover replaced by easter and if so, who authorized it, and did they have that right? Historical record from the catholic church proves that they themselves (not Yeshua) chose to exercise authority to change and sever or remove the connection of Passover. I have been stating to you that Rome wanted nothing to do with the Jews and I continue to show you this pattern, either you are ignorant to the truth of God's word or you want nothing to do with anything that pertain to the Jews, I think the latter fits you. Question, are you a christian catholic, and if not, then why are you subjecting yourself to the catholic church? I am writing respectfully, though at times it sounds harsh.

He became our "Passover lamb," metaphorically speaking. But, technically, Pesach does not celebrate the death of Christ. Christians are not required to keep Pesach. But they are free to do so in commemoration of the death of Christ. I participated in a Passover Seder last year and thought it was amazing! *2) You did not respond to my question, are Gentiles believers now of the commonwealth of Israel, Yes or No? If not, why not?* I directly responded to that question in a different comment of yours. *3) Deuteronomy 6:8,9, why don't you start at verse 4, or are you just trying to sought of entrap me?* My intention is never to entrap anyone. I do not "cherry-pick" when citing scripture to suit my needs. My goal is to learn the truth. I agree with all of Scripture. You said, *"The Tefillin, which I do not do is just a practice of the remembrance of this passage, nothing wrong with that."* There is nothing wrong with that, of course. In fact if you consider yourself under the Law of Moses, it is _required_ of you. The Torah does not say it is optional. Yet you take this commandment of Yahweh and refer to it as "just a practice"? You said, *"As for the Mesuzah, God commanded it, didn't he? And if so, should we disobey God?"* You did not answer the question asking if you keep this command. If you consider yourself under the Law of Moses, this is required of you. Why do you not practice it? You said, *"the yibbum was never removed."* Really? Okay, so if you consider yourself under the Law of Moses, this is required of you. So why would you not practice it if your brother left his wife widowed and childless? *4) You have not even responded to Romans 8:7...* I just responded to that passage in a different comment of yours. Check it out. Shalom, Rob

Rob, the Jewish believers must hold Pesach to commemorate the Passover, that God delivered them out of the house of bondage, and as believers, on Pesach the bread and wine is taken to commemorate the death of Yeshua who is our Passover, delivering us from the condemnation what will once come upon those who do not accept the atonement of Yeshua, which is safe to state. In addition, we understand and believe by Yeshua offering himself, he fulfilled the sacrificial law of atonement for sin that was a foreshadow.

Are there two ways to the Father, or only One Way? There's only One Way, of course. The Way, Yahusha Ha'Mashiach (John 14:6). And How do we pick up our cross and follow that Way, according to Scripture (Matt. 16:24)? By denying ourselves (Matt. 16:24), and abiding in Him (John 15:1-9). And, how do we abide in Him, according to Scripture? The very next verse will tell you... "If ye guard my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have guarded my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." YOCHANON (JOHN) 15:10 את CEPHER As well as other places, for second, third, fourth (and so on), witnesses. It's literally written ALL OVER SCRIPTURE. We are to guard His Commandments. "He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked." YOCHANON RI'SHON (1 JOHN) 2:6 את CEPHER "By this we know that we love the children of Elohiym, when we love Elohiym, and guard his commandments. For this is the love of Elohiym, that we guard his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." YOCHANON RI'SHON (1 JOHN) 5:2-3 את CEPHER "Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of Elohiym." QORINTIYM RI'SHON (1 CORINTHIANS) 7:19 את CEPHER You might say, "well, the whole of the Law and the Prophets hangs on the Two Great Commandments, so I'll just keep those..." You speak the Truth, without knowing what it even means. Yahusha was speaking Torah, when He said the Two Great Commandments. "Hear, O Yashar'el: Yahuah Elohaynu, Yahuah is one: And you shall love את Yahuah Elohayka with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates." DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 6:4-9 את CEPHER "You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall in any wise rebuke your neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yahuah." VAYIQRA (LEVITICUS) 19:17-18 את CEPHER Indeed, the WHOLE of Scripture points to loving Him, and our fellow man. Not just the Renewed Covenant... "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahuah." MATTITHYAHU (MATTHEW) 4:4 את CEPHER "And that from a child you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto yeshu`ah through faith which is in Yahusha Ha'Mashiach. All Scripture is given by the Ruach Elohiym, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of Elohiym may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." TIMOTHEUS SHENIY (2 TIMOTHY) 3:15-17 את CEPHER If we walk in Torah, we WILL BE FULFILLING the two Great Commandments. Just as Yahusha walked in Torah, perfectly, and fulfilled them, first, as our example set. Otherwise, what is your standard for loving Him, and loving your neighbor? Is it worshipping Him as the pagans have worshiped their idols, on the same days, every year, with some of the same rituals/traditions? Or is it staying home, instead of helping a sick brother/neighbor/believer get nourishment, because, "I'm not leaving my my house tonight"? People use Faith/Scripture as a license for LAWLESSNESS. Such as: "For when the other nations, which have not the Torah, do by nature the things contained in the Torah, these, having not the Torah, are a Torah unto themselves: Which show the work of the Torah written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when Elohiym shall judge the secrets of men by Yahusha Ha'Mashiach according to my Besorah." ROMAIYM (ROMANS) 2:14-16 את CEPHER People use this Scripture, out of context, to claim we don't need to keep Torah, in the Renewed Covenant. Are people showing the Torah written on their hearts, while transgressing the Torah, regularly/weekly? Is that the example our Mashiach set for us to pick up our cross and follow? "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the Law, but under grace? Never. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But Elohiym be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness." ROMAIYM (ROMANS) 6:15-18 את CEPHER Are we denying ourselves and following Him by celebrating the exact same way our beloved athiest brothers celebrate? On the exact same days? Which are NOT Commanded anywhere in Scripture, but, indeed, are only found in rebuke?

I learned from the word of God... Aren't we supposed to follow what God says not man... God says not to worship him as the pagans worship their gods.. he tells us how we should honor him... If you read truly read your Bible to find out what God wants instead of trying to find scriptures to support what we want you'll see things differently... I know that my miserable, , wicked, blasphemous self-centered butt did not and could not deserve what he's given to me... I called out his name as a curse before I was going to kill myself... I owe it to him to find out what he wants from me.. What I can do to please him... Not what makes me feel good.. not how I want to worship him... I deserve hell and he saved me... He deserves for me to honor him... I've looked... What he specifically says... DO NOT WORSHIP ME AS THE HEATHENS DO... And he tells us how he wants to be honored... I pray you set aside your pride and truly look for yourself search the scriptures if you look honestly for what he wants not what you want... It becomes clear

@@TheBiblicalRoots every part of the Easter holiday right down to the tradition of eating ham... If Christians were JUST acknowledging the resurrection I could understand but that's not the case... I didn't bring this point up because it's my understanding of how Jesus asks us to remember him... Not to celebrate the Jewish Passover but he says with desire I have desire to eat this Passover with you before I suffer then says take this and divide it amongst yourselves speaking of the cup of wine and then breaks the bread and gives thanks and says" this is my body which I've given for you do this in remembrance of me" Luke 22:19 I am not a Bible scholar so I don't argue this point but it seems clear that Jesus is asking us to remember that he's giving himself as the Passover for us and we should remember that. After he is risen he does not give any instructions to his disciples to celebrate that he is risen and I'm not saying that that would be bad to celebrate the fact that he's risen. He also doesn't say we shouldn't celebrate the fact that he's risen. My problem with Easter or any of the secular holidays that we associate with Christians is all of the traditions of man if Christians were just going into church and celebrating by reading the passion and and his suffering and and acknowledging what he has done for us in my mind I couldn't see a problem but the Easter baskets the eggs the Hot Cross buns the eating of ham every part of that that is associated with this holiday all comes from pagan roots. If you were to specify Christian celebrating Easter as only doing things that were not associated with the secular portion of the holiday that would be great but it seems like you were almost defending it. I May have misunderstood your point. Please don't think I'm trying to be argumentative with you at all honestly. I felt literal pain in my heart thinking you were dismissing the the mostly pagan traditions associated with Easter. The eggs, the rabbit, the hot cross buns, the ham dressing going girls in white and pastels and unfortunately even the name Easter all is rooted in multiple pagan spring rituals... The only thing I'm asking of you is to please look into this again from a different angle and I will as well.. trust me I would like nothing better than to celebrate with the masses decorate and buy candy I used to love the holidays... Now I love something more. More than making my daughter happy with sweets more than making my husband happy with feasts... I want to live to serve the God who thought nothing to save a wretched human being like myself... I still don't know how to do that entirely but at long as I have breath in my chest I will continue to learn from his word and do his will! @@seekers-of-righteousness Hi, CCC! I agree that God intended Israel would provide spiritual and moral guidance to the entire world through her observance of the Torah. There is definitely truth in this perspective. God’s Law did set Israel apart from the nations around her (Deut 4:5-8). However, when viewed in the context of the full storyline of Scripture, it is evident that Isaiah’s prophecy about the “light for the Gentiles” is ultimately referring to Jesus, rather than the Mosaic Law or even Israel. It is through Jesus that God’s salvation will reach the ends of the earth. In Isaiah 49, the mission that was Israel’s corporately is reassigned to the Servant individually, who fulfills Israel’s obligations to Yahweh in order to restore their relationship. And the servant will do more than restore Israel to its former glory. He will serve as an agent of salvation to the nations, thus fulfilling the divine promise to Abraham that through his descendants God would be a blessing to “all the peoples on earth” (Gen 12:3). Paul and Barnabas quote these words in Acts 13:47. In other words, Israel is of great importance and the “light source” insofar as it is the channel through which Yeshua came. Said another way, the “light to the nations” came into the world through Israel, but Jesus is the Light for the Gentiles and the means of Yahweh’s salvation. The idea of Christ as a light permeates the NT. And as far as "I am the Lord and besides Me there is no Savior," Christians would wholeheartedly agree! Yeshua (Jesus) was Yahweh incarnate. There is no God other than Yahweh, Who reveals Himself in Scripture as a triune being. Blessings, Rob

Solberg's claim that "Passover isn't Easter" is refuted by Acts 12:4 in the KJV. And why does he feel the need to take Acts 10:40 out of context? It clearly does not say Christ appeared to them on the third day, but rather that he rose on the third day AND appeared to them afterwards. The big point that Solberg side steps and pretends not to understand in this video is that nothing in the Bible supports a resurrection on Sunday. In fact there is much stronger biblical evidence that the resurrection happened at the end of the Sabbath: 1. Solberg admits the Wednesday crucifixion timeline is biblically supported, but fails to comprehend that counting from Wednesday evening three nights and three days is completed on Saturday evening, not Sunday morning. 2. Jesus claims to be Lord of the Sabbath in Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, and Luke 6:5 3. Every single one of the gospels clearly explains that Jesus was already resurrected and gone (past tense) by the time the women showed up early on Sunday morning 4. Acts 2:20, 1 Corinthians 5:5, 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 2 Thessalonians 2:2, and 2 Peter 3:10 undeniably prove that the "day of the Lord" does not refer to Sunday 5. There is overwhelming evidence that the early new testament church faithfully kept the Sabbath on the last day of the week ...but the Catholics still deceptively moved their observance from Saturday to Sunday, and so by proxy the Easter Sunday celebration was still established on the same fraudulent narrative that Christ rose on Sunday rather than at the end of the Sabbath which he claimed to be lord of...

Messiah Matters most recent podcasts have been Passover vs. Communion. Their argument is Christ never commanded the Gentiles to reenact the Passover every time they gathered. Yes, they should do the Passover as onto Christ......but they argue Passover was a memorial. Thus, there can be no Christian Lord's Supper....because Christ said " do this in remembrance of Me." This shows Caleb and Rob don't understand the meaning of the word " remembrance"........and neither do the evangelicals/ Baptists. They also think the Lord's Supper is only a " memorial." The Dispensationalists hold the belief in a third millennial temple.....and the sacrifices will be memorial. Caleb Hegg has also used the exact same argument for the third temple......because there have to be memorial sacrifices. Saying the sacrifices have to be reinstituted is blasphemy. The Reformed teaching on the Lord's Supper answers Messiah Matters theological error. Dr. R. Scott Clark ( Heidelblog): The Supper Is More Than A Memory

I enjoy hearing the Easter is pagan arguments but the same group ignores that the Jewish calendar is from pagan Babylon 🤷🏼‍♂️ cough month of Tammuz. The main attempts they will argue is Waster sounds like and looks almost like Ishtar therefore they are the same. 1. This is sound fallacy.Easter is Germanic Ishtar is Persian two languages that had nothing to do with each other and had no contact with each other. Ishtar totem animal wasn’t rabbit but a lion. The earliest depictions of the supposed Eostre/Ostara originate in the 1800’s (thank the Brothers Grimm) 2. There is no evidence from the Anglo-Saxons/Germanic/Nordic people of this supposed goddess. The only account we have is from the Venerable Bede whose statement would be considered 3rd hand source or hearsay. Bede argued that if the old Anglo-Saxon calendar 2 months of the 12 were supposedly named after deities Eostremonad and Hreda month. Unfortunately we have little first hand sources that support these statements. Neo pagans have popularized these sayings. If we look at the names of the months we would see that the 10 months that are not named for deities were named for poetic statements or event. Why would the Saxon name a month for a “minor deity” you name your months and days after the core of the pantheon not obscured ones. The Germanic Pantheon is the same as the Norse pantheon the names are just spelled differently but you can still see the original Odin/Woden Thor/Thror/ Frigga/Frida. Some will say that there are places and even names in Old English example Eostrwine and say oh you see it means Friend of Eostre. I could also it means friend of the east because let’s no forget the Anglo Saxons originally hailed from Germany which is east of England so what better name for a diplomat to the fatherland to name their child.

@@joe4369 where did i commit an ad hom? Where did i attack you? There is no evidence from primary sources. Bede is not a primary source I can at most give him a secondary source. When I can see that 10 months of the 12 are named after things or event going on in that month it is more than likely the names of the two "deity months" are more than likely not name after deities but after events, eostremonud can also be translated shining month In the Middle Ages, however, Bede's reputation as a historian was greatest within England. In the rest of Latin Christendom, Bede's significant and widespread popularity rested predominantly on his theological works, which circulated widely from a relatively early point. A good example of this disparity in popularity between his historical and his theological work can be found in Legenda Aurea, the collection of saints' legends written in the 1260s by Jacobus de Voragine. Here, Jacobus engages several times with the history of the British Isles, such as when recounting Saint Germanus of Auxerre's journey to Britain. Germanus' sojourn to Britain is also mentioned by Bede, and it is possible that Bede serves as the ultimate source for Jacobus' account, but there is no reference to this in Legenda Aurea. This is notable, because in several other chapters of Legenda Aurea, Jacobus mentions Bede as an authority for various claims, but only for Bede's theology, and never for his historical writing. This might serve as a good measurement of Bede's importance outside of England. Actual it is an soundl fallacy by equating that the name Easter and Ishtar sounds so similar therefore Easter is really about Ishtar that one is on me I will change it

Hello, SLP! The terms _Easter_ and _Passover_ refer to two different events. Passover has nothing to say about the Resurrection of Jesus that defeated death and sin. Easter has nothing to say about God rescuing ancient Israel out of Egypt. Rob
@scented-leafpelargonium3366
@@TheBiblicalRoots I like the SLP! It sounds like a Northern Irish political party! If I may beg to differ, as what you say is how the two are perceived nowadays. Yeshua never asked anyone to venerate His Resurrection by any day or date, and this is something that we are not commanded to do, so it seems a bit of a moot point as it is a bit unecessary. The only thing Yeshua instructed anyone to keep or remember was His sacrificial atoning DEATH, which occurred on the Day of Passover on Nisan 14th (not "Good Friday"). He did not say to venerate His birth or His resurrection so those are just extra "options." But there is great pressure within the churches to make Christians celebrate these things, so much so that they even get described as "Christian feasts" when the only feast or festival connected with Yeshua's Passion that was ordained by God and kept by Yeshua (right up to the day He died) was PASSOVER or Pesach, which means to "jump or skip," in recounting the Angel of Death passing over the Israelites' homes in the Exodus and skipping or sparing those daubed by the blood of the Passover lamb. Passover may have nothing to do with the resurrection as Yeshua never instructed to celebrate the resurrection 51 days a year weekly and once annually. It is His DEATH and SHED BLOOD that wrought for us salvation, not the resurrection, miraculous and vindicating that it was, but the Ascension was a great miracle after that, but not salvific. There are other resurrections in the Bible, including that of Lazarus by Yeshua, but there was only one atoning DEATH, as the New Testament describes Yeshua as the PASSOVER slain for us (therefore let us KEEP THE FEAST - of Passover, not the later invented "Easter"). Easter has nothing to do with God rescuing Israel from Egypt as the Gentile Christians have divorced themselves from the Passover significance and "Appointed Time" ("Moed") that Yeshua kept. Thus it is ignorance on their own part, not something that God decided should be lacking. The anti-Passover brigade is palpable in the institutionalised churches, and most attendees are likely to have more identification and recognition of the Easter Bunny than the Passover Lamb. The date of Passover has never changed, but the Gentile Church had to invent a "moveable feast" in order to keep away from actually countenancing the ordained Biblical Passover Day. God's Feasts don't "move", but are tied to fixed dates that are celebrated annually, while the Gentile Church remembers these events on days of the week instead, which isn't Biblical. I know you defend all these things to the hilt, so I don't expect you to agree at all. But in my opinion there should only be one Biblical Feast for both Jews & Gentiles in unity. But which will win out, the Bible or tradition? I think you know the answer to that. For you are part of the promotion of these "optional" traditions over the Biblical dates. Best wishes, Colin :-)

KEEP AWAY FROM IDOLATRY NEVER COPY IDOLATERS IN THE WORSHIP OF GOD YEHOVAH Deuteronomy 12:29-32 ASV When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land; [30] take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. [31] Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. [32] What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT OR LIKE BUT WHAT GOD HAS COMMANDED THAT MATTERS

to the natural man, Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Yes, 5:18 Passover is the better choice. It is commemorated for believers, with the knowledge that Jesus is our Passover. And that Passover is a shadow of that time. Yes Hanukkah probably is a man-made tradition, but from my understanding it has no roots in any pagan mixing of the seed, or the word of God. I think purim could also be included. What we do know is that if Jesus observed Hanukkah , there is absolutely no reason we shouldn’t if we wanted to. And at the same time no reason to skip it if we want to. Don’t you think it wasn’t a good idea for israel to worship God with the golden Calf. My understanding is that that is what they were trying to do. They worshipped God in the way he had not prescribed. I often think of office Christmas parties where you hear of all kinds of bizarre and ungodly debauchery with the title Christmas party, when i think of what they did at Mount Sinai. Nothing new under the Sun, right. In the world today among Christian celebrating Christmas is so important. It wad for me for so many years. With such an important event being observed, not at the right time of the year i might add) why don’t we see it being carried on into the coming Kingdom of God? It looks like we would see it for a celebration in our future. And yet we do see other days that he has established forever for us to observe.

The bible being about what happens in man seen and not seen reflects David and Saul being two person isn't truth, being one like Saul and Paul being same one, Paul knew OT was Allegory not history, Christ being man in all man by seed that fails many but never defeat.
