I have been completely frustrated for the last two days trying to incorporate a sort tab into the columns. I normally use Wordperfect Quattro and in this case, I am using Word. You solved my problem in about 5 minutes. I opened the document, left the video to run so I could hear your voice and followed your instructions. Thank you SO much!!
Exactly what I was looking for. Simple, but I had never taken the time to figure this out. This was what I needed, and the added bonus of subtotals was also useful. Thank you.
Go to the Data tab In the Advanced Filter dialog box, click Copy to another location. If the countries are in Column B... Set both List Range and Criteria Range to $b$2:$b$2156. Set Copy to to $m$2 Keep the Unique Records Only box checked. Click OK. This will filter all the duplicated countries out. Then use the "Rows" function to e.g.=rows(select the cells containing the filtered countries) You can now see the number of unique countries Repeat for the salespeople.
For more clarity, I am trying to protect the formulas in the sheet whilst still allowing the user to using all the sorting functions. I hope this is clear.
