I hate weapon switching so im not to bothered about builds being locked behind certain weapons, i would much rather have a crit build locked behind staff where in the feature they can add addition cool armour sets/abilities that make the build stronger/ more fun.
I love this idea. There could almost be a Bossfight cave where they rotate out bosses daily weekly. Whatever works that may be slightly modified and don’t have their full drop table or a few unique drops.
I hope they change the loot mechanics for this. I'm really tired of reading play with up to 4 friends!... but if you do were gonna nerf your rewards into the ground. Tired of choosing boring solo runs for loot or fun with friends for no rewards
So I thought magic was the best route for combat so I bought a staff of Armidial because I want to do high level bossing and then melle got a boost so I’ve been working on getting 99 melle gear . Which combat style should I stick with or should I go for necromancy?
Tldr: Get the style you think is most fun for your first fully maxed set. For your first I'd honestly just say pick the one you like most in terms of enjoyment. While learning you don't need to worry about being on META since you aren't gonna be aiming for absolute fastest times etc. But progressing just one style means you will reach higher faster. Meta changes so often, sometimes you will just be on a different style for a while.
The magic ability change feels a bit uncomfy. Adding "and you can cast concentrated blast with 2h weapons" to the 30s Instability buff from FSoA..? Like it'd fix the one specific issue they're considering changing the entire combat style over, wouldn't it?
Great vid as always, very informative. It was pretty difficult to understand some things you were reading or commenting about as you have a habit of mumbling, talking fast, or not annunciating your words and with your accent it turns into word mush pretty easily. Just my opinion though, thanks for the info!
The death mechanic is hard to picture, because probably 1 of 2 things will happen: 1. It will become meta to "die" right before a mechanic so you can skip it and come back after it's finished OR 2. "Dying" will allow you to come back but not skip a tough mechanic that will kill you again as soon as youre back.
it's only gonna be a normal mode, so i don't think the mechanics are gonna be so punishing you need to skip them, they did say normal is in-between story mode and normal for elite dungeons.
I think it’ll be similar to how they have it in OSRS. In groups, you can die and watch the fight. If they allow it in singles. I’m assuming the boss will stop at the same mechanic you died at. This allowing the fight to resume. They will most likely make it where you can’t spam die to cheese it. So after x deaths you’ll get booted out of the encounter.
It will make learning faster because you will see all mechanics every fight - rather than dying early in the fight many times without learning later mechanisms.
Yay, finally they are releasing new mage gear, which is why the FSOA nerf was done. Been working on getting mage upgrades for awhile, so thisll be nice.
@@Meloncholiac They reworked the staff ages ago, well before the combat beta. The legit reasoning was to allow future weapons without having to make them OP for the sake of having to outdo the FSOA. Whatever mod that it was even said that was the reason for the initial nerf.
@Meloncholiac oh no, I meant when they originally nerfed it. Totally made sense as it be too hard to make a new staff without just making it stupid OP.
For me, the whole fear of trying new bosses is the cost of dying. I don’t care if it takes me 100 deaths to get the boss down - thats just part of learning. But forking out 500k a death adds up to a point that makes it unaffordable. Remove the cost of death (not death itself), and it’ll fix that fomo of trying new bosses
Just swap to or camp ring of death while learning. If it procs, restart. Ez. Then once you have it down, you'll get additional damage from a better ring
While I get the idea behind changing gconc, I also feel it should stay as a dual wield ability and buff gsonic. To me 1h should be faster abilities, while staff is slow, but more impactful. Also if they change Magma tempest, it should be a 2h ability. Staffs should be used for AOE and you switch to 1h when you use the FSOA spec to get a bunch of fast, lower hitting abilities, but it makes the spec proc more often. That is how it should be done IMO. You camp FSOA until you spec, then change to wand and orb.
If every ability builds or relies on a stack of counting something else before doing the next thing that may or may not give a buff to something else... THIS ALL NEEDS A REAL BUFF BAR RATHER THAN LIMITED SLOTS THAT ARE NEVER IN THE SAME PLACE TWICE, IF THEY APPEAR AT ALL.
I’m assuming they’ll be ripping a page out of osrs for the death mechanics. Like in groups, if you die you can watch the fight. Then if they win you continue to the next encounter. If they do singles, I’m assuming it’ll stop at the mechanic you died at. Allow for the respawn, keeping you in combat to stop someone from spamming everything at respawn and stopping pots and such from being consumed after respawn and maybe allow for reduced damage from that mechanic.
i like the DW #1 change, i prefer more consistency vs random rng procs especially with magic since fsoa already has built in rng. i think 9 seconds would be perfect if they also change the cd of fsoa to be longer if they want to try and make an impact on switch-scape since right now you'll still be swapping back and forth just not on every 3rd ability so i consider it a step in the right direction but would like to see a little more in the future.
Black Desert online has this mechanic and you use Elion tears to rebirth yourself. This really helped me learn how to keep myself from dying. Can't wait for this!! Hope there's something similar to rebirth/revive yourself!
I feel like being able to die and still finish the fight gives less reason to actually do it "right" wants stopping me from getting the expensive drops just a slow kill time? Maybe have that death mechanic be part of practice mode so it gives you a chance to fight the whole thing, or maybe have to go flawless on the boss for the unique drop table and maybe less common loot if you die during
This is exciting! Thanks for the content man. I always listen to your videos while im working. Always seem to do an excellent job explaining the new updates/patch notes. Keep it up brotha!
From the sounds of it I like the 2nd idea for the dual weilds, but going to have to wait until everything is actually tested out. I also like the conc blast change for sofa makes more sense but again testing for it is a great thing
bro all they had to do was release a drop that upgrades praesuls to t95 and give them a passive that synergizes with instability (fsoa), thats it. What do they do instead? "hey lets try to reinvent the entire way magic combat operates with complicated and unintuitive passives"
Take these issues to jagex, they are taking player feedback in case you missed him talking about that, these are concerns they are wanting to hear about. Go the the mods instead of complaining about it here
That is literally the biggest thing that stops me from doing most bosses. I dont get a lot of time to play, so sinking an entire play session into just trying to read and learn critical fight mechanics. Then spending another entire session just to fight it twice and missing a mechanic due to small town internet, getting one shot 3/4th of the way through the fight. So thats minus two days of playing, minus all the costs, and only irritation and frustration to show for it.
@@InitYeah yea but it kinda feels like jagex moving the best dual weld ability over to the 2H and once again favoring 2h magic over dual.. these dual better be under a bil
@ChrisP- it's still just beta, and they said that it's just a "let's see" thing and very much not set in stone. I'm glad they are testing all options though! Andddd it's the players who will give the feedback tbf so if it's bloody sucks then they will 100% hear about it haha :p
