I was in this room while they were being interviewed.. Unreal night, Mike shared their Redstripe beers with me, and I brought some J's and sparked with him.. I still have the lighter he was using to crack open our beers. Love you Mike, rest in peace.. This was such a beautiful night to spend with my childhood heroes.
Saw them perform in Orange County at the observatory back in 2011 Believe it or not Mac Miller opened for them and we booed Mac unfortunately his style wasn’t what we were there for that night it didn’t match the hip hop vibe of PUTS that we were all used to. Thes one downed a 40oz in front of us in record time and Double K was wearing the biggest brown pro club I’ve ever seen on a human. They played EVERY hit💯 Long Live Mac Miller Long Live Double K Long Live PUTS Real hip hop
Thes One and Double K. One of the most representative hip-hop duo. Rest in peace to Double K and thank you for all the funk and good vibrations. You guys were breathing music to the fullest degree and I really hope Thes One will still for a long while. To me nothing beats the way you flipped that bass line on "Jappy Jap" but albums and EP's are timeless hip-hop gemms. So thank you !
As a massive PUTS fan I felt dizzy when I found American Men in Fat City in about 2001. Couldn't believe my luck! I knew it was limited and of all the places in the world I found it in Manchester. 20 years later I now know why 😂 R.I.P Double K & thankyou
Been such a huge fan for over 20 years. I remember buying O.S.T. at FYE when it came out and it's still astounding such a classic. RIP Double K he is one of my favorite rappers of all time and Thes is one of the best producers of all time. Long live the P
Great interview, fantastic seeing an interviewer put in so much research into the questions they ask, then not interrupting and letting the artists explain fully.
I love their camaraderie and candor. People Under The Stairs are fucking dope! I'm a Thump their shit till I leave here. That Farewell, My Friend album was one of the best tribute albums I've ever heard. Shout out Thes One aka Lord Rock and Travel Well, Double K aka LA Mike.
Maaaaaan I met this guys in Toronto back in 2012 at their concert, when the highlighter album came out. after the show was done me and my boys went to the bar in the venue, this guys joined us and we drank with them and we smoke a lil izzzmmm with them, great memories. Rip big mike aka chicks call me Mikey, why's that ? Cuz I like it. Great music that will last for eve, for ever the P
@OneSilentGiant they are both hiphop, they are different people with different expressions. But their core is the same. Masters of the Sun shows you that. I feel anyman complaining about another man like that is a bit sour. For the rest, I love his productions!
Thanks to all of you who have subscribed to thaarchivest channel since 2009. We couldn't have done it without you, Please re-subscribe to our new channel ru-vid.com/show-UCo5K7SbWTTcDm1GLzfDU1Mg As we are not posting no more new interviews on here since of Apr 2014. Only thing will be on here is live footage of past shows, & advertising for other brands
Both shows were a few years back. One in CLE and the other AK. (I can't remember the names of the venues, sorry) The Akron show shamefully only had a handful of people in the crowd, but PUTS mashed it up like pros anyway.
I saw them when they came to Van on their Highlighter tour, it was fucking dope for sure. Been down with PUTS since '02, have all their cd's, 12" & site releases.. do NOT have American men vol.1, did not like that story, quite honestly I felt that was hugely irresponsible of them to let them go like that.. thats probably why when any copy does turn up on Discogs or eBay it goes for around $500. Thanks guys.
No. Does Nardwuar ever interview in this format, him off screen, no gifts, no esoteric details from the artist's past? The channel name and @RealArchivest over the photo of him and PUTS on the intro are kind of a massive clue.
Ppl think we freestyle on the way to the show and do a little grafiti then breakdance. Its not really like that. Hahahahahhahh thes and mike hilarious.
I THINK GOING INTO THIS MUSIC THING U HAVE TO LOVE THE HELL OUT OF IT FIRST AND FOR MOST. AND THAT GOES FOR ANY GENRE U ARE IN!!!!!! U CANNOT HALF STEP ON PRODUCTION OR LYRICS, SINGING OR ANYTHING ELSE U "SPECIALIZE" IN. OTHERWISE UR SHIT WILL BE JUST THAT "SHIT", AND YOU'LL BE JUST ANOTHER ACT IN YOUR FIELD.....
