Thank you, Dr. Laurie. I really appreciate your videos, all the great evidence-based content especially surrounding menopause, wt loss and WFPB diet. 🕊️ 🥬 💛
Thank you for this video! I have osteoarthritis in both feet. I continue to go on 20-min walks and wear tennis shoes with great arch support my doctor recommended. Stretching reduces some pain, but they still hurt. I’m trying to lose the extra 70 pounds…I know my feet would be very happy about that. I feel like it’s a catch-22. I am WFPB-no oil and include green smoothies (2/3 lb kale w flax and fruit and water)…. although I eat processed vegan food for holidays and special occasions. My question is, should I take ibuprofen for the arthritis daily to help me exercise longer and more intensely until the extra fat is off?
Dr Marbas, may I ask a question on vitamin E intake? I find the usage of cronometer very helpful (in terms of protein intake, calories, vitamins, minerals, etc.). However, the Vitamin E intake often comes out very low.... like around ~35% (5.4mg). I do eat chia/flax/tahini, etc., but not necessarily almonds or avocados. Should I be making a point to eat almonds, sunflower seeds, etc. to reach a certain Vit E goal?? 35% of RDI (5.4mg) seems so low. Is there a MINIMUM amount of Vitamin E that you recommend aiming for?
Vitamin E deficiency, though rare, can occur due to fat malabsorption disorders, genetic conditions, and in premature infants. So I would not be too concerned with getting the RDA. Remember your body is also storing it for use later.
