He could know what he's talking about but not be able to practice it himself though. But no good way to prove it immediately , I guess. Don't trust trainers only based on what they look like either. They could have been trained by someone else, or just have good genetics and good random habits. If your trainer doesn't talk about diet and sleep on the first session, it's probably the case.

If you actually bring your legs up like that in a CONTROLLED motion, without kipping, then the dip also becomes an intense core workout. But I highly doubt this guy would have the strength to do that.

You can make anything a core workout if you actually engage your core. The thing is most people get lazy when doing isolations and just put themselves in an APT instead.

"He's showing them the right way" Except for the fact that even that is wrong. You're never supposed to break parallel with your upper arm and let your shoulder dip below your elbow, simply go down to parallel, everything else is unnecessary strain on your shoulders.

I can go as low as my neck without undue pain. Have also done dips where i would make my body paralell with the ground at the bottom and bring my shoulders to the bar before bringing my self back up to a support, this was a great help in starting planche work, personally.

You keep going that low on your dips you can say goodbye to your rotator cuff. Dips in general can really mess up your shoulders. That sucks because it really is a great muscle building exercise.

Again, this just looks like it makes the exercise easier. That's always the same thing with Crossfit. Either they make the exercise dangerous or easy, or both. Why don't these people realize that strict form is important because it isolates the muscles groups that are naturally used in the motion you are performing, and also activates them in the way they are supposed to be, minimizing the risks of injury. You basically take an exercises that focuses on something specific as much as possible, but then add unnecessary motion and momentum that takes half the difficulty right out. It's mind boggling.

When has this been about "focusing something specific as much as possible" ? Here it's to be the most efficient (optimize speed/effort) so yup you got it: "it makes the exercise easier". And that doesn't mean crossfitters don't train on strict movements, strength and technique (which they do because even by doing these "easy" dips, you can't pile them if you don't have strength).

That's what it IS about. To get the best and safest results, you focus on making sure a given set of muscles are doing the work and are moving the way they're supposed to in a non-jerky, smooth fashion. Of course you still need strength to do those dips, you need strength to walk too, doesn't mean it's not vastly inferior and often dangerous to do some of the things CrossFit advocates. Good form and range of motion are important for reducing the risks of injuries, especially if you are working out for years on end. And they aren't being the most efficient. By making the exercise easier, it takes them several times longer to get any kind of muscle fatigue going (if the right muscles are even getting fatigued first...) meaning they are spending a lot more time for less effort. And it's irrelevant that they have exercises that focus on proper range of motion and the like, they still intersperse them with nonsense like this.

Again, no. The aim is to get done faster and easier with your dips so you can go on whatever else is on the workout. Crossfitters will still build strengh on strict dips anyway. Your paragraph about strength fatigue is absolutely non sense and you wouldn't write it if you weren't blindly spitting on crossfit, because you exactly DON'T want to reach fatigue. The aim is not to build muscle, or work particular muscles groups, but to go faster. And if you have the strength, you'll be faster while staying safe (like the first guys who tried). If you want to build strength, then go with whatever scaled version you want to get it done correctly (that's where what you write makes sense).

+Psykopate Easier means you won't work the muscle groups anywhere near as well within the same amount of time. That's just common sense. So that basically means they're half-assing everything. And no, it's not absolute nonsense. There are two main things you can train for (not including just general health where you exercise to keep a basic status quo and feel good, which is perfectly fine goal): strength or endurance. Crossfit is inferior in either. you keep harping on going faster as if that is the crux of the matter. It doesn't matter how strong you might be, bad form will get you injured. Speed might be a factor, but bad form while being strict is bad for you body as much as being fast. And stop claiming I am blindly spitting on Crossfit, that has nothing to do with it. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they immediately come from a place of bias. That is a cop-out and you know it. I'm not accusing you of the inverse by claiming you're a fanboy, am I? So give me the same respect or shut the hell up.

Good, because the point again is NOT to work the muscle group. The aim is NOT to build muscle, it's NOT to build endurance either. The keyword was "blindly" because you don't want to understand what it's all about here. If during a competition you have a workout for example 5x(10 ring dips, 10 Clean&Jerk), you might wanna go fast while also saving your muscles. So you'll use this kind of dips because you can. I'm giving you the respect by being as explicative as possible, but you don't want to read. Like most of the comments in this thread

I went to one good crossfit gym in my whole life. The guy that ran it actually went to school for the shit and it's probably the only good crossfit gym in the damn country.

dont mak fun of crosfit it build funcontal strenth ur body is made to moove sam time like funcotal and bodybulding stunt grothe im 12 an i do crosfit an im strongest kid in my school i have 22.5 inch arms (flexed of cours) but this bodybulder kid in my school has only 19 inch because he don do funconal traning don just listen to this guy do research lik me and see taht crosfit is best way to losee fats an get chisel abs mussels al the girls in my clas hug me becaus im riped
