Ever wondered what the best exercise is for asthma? Well, you're not alone! In today's video, I discuss what my friend Robbie and I believe are the best workouts.

With the internet overflowing with advice on the "ultimate" workouts, it can be overwhelming. Influencers left and right claim to have the magic formula. But here's the thing, the best exercise isn't a one-size-fits-all solution; it's unique to YOU.
Now, let's dive into the nitty-gritty. Finding the best exercise boils down to three key questions:
What Are Your Goals?
Your goals are the compass guiding your fitness journey. Are you aiming to enjoy a leisurely walk with your family without the fear of asthma attacks? Perhaps you're a sports enthusiast looking to boost your endurance. Or maybe you dream of conquering a 14,000-foot peak. Defining your goals is the crucial first step.
What Do You Enjoy Doing?
Exercise should be enjoyable, not a chore. My idea of fun includes conquering mountain peaks, running with my pup, and practicing yoga. But it's not about me; it's about YOU. Whether you love volleyball, soccer, or something entirely different, choose activities that genuinely make you happy. If it's not enjoyable, it's less likely you'll stay committed.
What Can You Do Consistently?
Consistency is the secret sauce in any fitness journey. You need an exercise routine you can stick to. Consider the practicality of your chosen exercise. Can you realistically incorporate it into your daily or weekly schedule? If your goal is to conquer that 14,000-foot peak, but you can only play soccer once a month, you'll need to bridge that gap.
Let's break it down further. Say your goal is to conquer a 14,000-foot peak. These hikes typically range from 4 to 8 miles with an elevation gain of 2,000 to 4,000 feet. The journey can take 4 to 8 hours. Now, imagine you enjoy soccer and can play once a week for 45 minutes - excellent for cardiovascular fitness.
But to prepare for the peak, walking can complement your soccer sessions. Walking daily, aim for around two miles a day. This low-impact exercise builds the stamina needed for those long hikes.
In conclusion, the best exercise for asthma aligns with your goals, brings you joy, and is sustainable. Remember, it's about what's best for YOU, not anyone else.
