nobody expect it, dude got lucky in said match ups plus has playing disgusting cards which now are banned. but respect for him, Exodia will always be memorable@@omarbrito8094
True ... But, at least, these things do not destroy themselves if you cannot reveal it. Time will tell. maybe the millenium cards will be remembert as the archetype that took the gimmick of Ko'aki Meru and cristal-beast to playability.
Lol I had a Dark Rabbi too 😂 at the time I was like wtf is this? & didn't find the humor in it, just annoyed, but now I really want all those old fake cards to laugh at
I'm glad the old school monsters are being retroactively put into an archetype. It makes them feel like they belong instead of being random disconnected monsters.
@@jcg243..... Were you not watching the video? One of the monsters literally references it's original card in it's effect 🤦🏽♂️ it was mentioned in the video
"Caveman that awoke after a millenium" had me thinking Konami was joking about exodia players given how old exodia is and how it's now getting good support in what's basically a different era, but then the effect mentioning Sengenjin reminded me that exists and this is clearly a retrain. These seem cool, I'm tentatively hype.
When the reveals were just being translated at first, I was joking around with my friends about how searching a "Level 10 or higher Exodia monster or a Millennium monster" would be huge for my Millennium Golem turbo deck. Needless to say I exploded with excitement when I saw the Golem retrain. Golembros, we are SO BACK. #golemgang
One note: the field spell doesn’t need to set a millennium, it can set ANY monster for its effect. Plus, if you use Millennium Cross after that, the random spare ash or forbidden one piece or what have you gets sent back to deck clearing up the slot.
The LP thing can be very deadly with one old spell card (cauldron of the old man). With that on the field the fusion card’s effects pay 1000 would be over because (oldman) would just recover that and more every turn. This support is going to have a-lot of old cards be some what viable in this archetype.
This when it was revealed made me have flashbacks of forbidden memories on the he ps1 era. These very cards were how I beat that game. Now that I’m seeing the effects, it wouldn’t be entirely crazy to consider combining this with the dark magician support cards since it really gives off that old school vibe since we all know of the very first episode of yugioh
You know what archetype that will benefit greatly from these "continuous spell/trap" effect, which also could act as a body on the field? Yep. True Draco.
These cards really make me want me to get back into the card game , this deck seems like so much fun. I have the gold border Exodia cards and always thought they looked so good. It would be fun to use them in a fun deck
Great review, better then some of the other ones ive seen that shat on this new support immediately, probably because it wasnt a 13 omni-negate 455555 ATK monster with overpowered protection that you can get on the field by farting on your opponent lol.
Add materialization from the newest set to a deck with these cards and you can get a bit of extra destruction or another body out with a quick effect just by having the monsters in spell/Trap first
For Exodo Blaze, you need to understand that all 5 Pieces of Exodia will be brought to the field as equip spells. If you can somehow get Swift Birdman Joe on the field and his effect resolved successfully, you just win the duel then and there. You wouldn't be able to do it the same turn though, which I guess balances things out.
Four then add one with the last set being that old mist valley ninja into harpy dancer kujaku and then joe thing but the odds of pulling that off...lol
This card would have wild when game was just slow enough to play panda with future fusion. Throw fusions materials to graveyard. Put a negate onto board then go fishing in the graveyard
Spell economics works well with this upcoming deck since it saves you the cost from paying LP of the spell effects of the monster cards that are treated as continuous spell when in the S/T zone
So a boss monster that can't be destroyed by card effects, free negates s/t activations ignoring monsters, gains ATK based on a source that you must hope your opponent doesn't deplete, or increase it by stuff no one plays, loses you its own ATK source... and sets a card on the end phase... Yeah, ah think cancerstinks1 said it right.
I think i misread the fusion before. I thought it's attack was always equal to your current life points but now that I reread it, it gains a permanent Stat increase when it attacks based i. Your life points. That's way better then I thought. Not insane but at least it can get pretty big over time
@@Broskispersonalthe effect, or at least the translation of it, doesn't read during damage calculation only or even until the end of a certain phase, only that it's a once per turn increase
Fun fact the Exodia card keeps gaining attack, no where does it mention "original" so an example being you somehow summon it first turn:8000 attack. Your opponent doesn't deal any damage to you and you still have Exodia. ADDITIONAL 7000 attack so 15,000 attack. This thing is going to be nutty.
It's nice to see retrains of old/ forgotten cards from the first set of Yu-Gi-Oh cards and even some cards that were McDonalds exclusive again.... Good times
The new fusion is insane. The ATK increase is indefinite and the protection is good, plus an omni negate. For those who may think the ATK boost is not permanent, here is the translated text: "Once per turn, if this card battles, during damage calculation: It gains ATK equal to your current LP." Unlike other cards, there is no until/turn only clause on the effect; meaning that if you had 8000 LP when it comes out, then lose 1000 due to the monster, you could have a 15,000 ATK beat-stick after keeping it for one turn. This is compared to something like Armityle the Chaos Phantasm who reads: "Gains 10,000 ATK during your turn only."
Which ones are they weak to really? Ash on Shield works if you don't have Cross already. Other than that...there's not much they can do. Imperm and Veiler don't work on the searching because that part is all spell effects. Droll only works to stop summoning Exodia for Golem and Sengenjin without a Cross in hand.
just to note if no on has already, Phantom gods atk gain is PERMANENT. meaning going second, if you have it alive for at least two turns almost nothing will be able to beat over it.
I don’t have too high hopes for this deck competitive wise but it’s nice to see that you’re practically showing your opponent that you have exodia in your deck just to access their fusion monster and that if they don’t wipe out you lp fast eventually your going to draw all five pieces
Finally Exodia got good support. Such an iconic monster that was only used in decks to draw cards to get the five pieces. Sure this support probably doesn't make it meta, but pretty good still
I find it amazing how Konami just can't make up their minds about whether they will stop making Exodia support or not. This is the second time they said they would stop only to make it even more a few years later.
"An effect to place them from your hand to your spell/trap zone. And then they have an effect while a continous spell and an effect as a monster" So pendulums
There is one big downside being that Millennium cross doesn't count as a proper Fusion summon so you cannot Reborn the new Fusion Monster since it doesn't specifically state Millennium cross as a proper summon
Imma point out the effect on Phantom God Exodia sounds exactly like Psychic End Punishers. So every time you you attack with this monster, it may just keep gaining attack an stacking it
It seems kind of like you want to get the shield out early in the S/T zone so you can add the spell to your hand and then use the spell for the alternative cost of the other cards to avoid paying further LP.
Based on the ease of the summon condition (Millennium Cross) and the effect it has, I would say it is an OP card. And I can see this card in Banlist, at least in Limited Cards.
fun fact: the Golem, Shield, and Caveman/Sengenjin retrains aren't Millennium monsters they're Sennen monsters for some Exodia-forsaken reason also, Sengenjin is included in all of these cards because its Japanese name is "Millennium Primitive Man"
Sennen literally translates to 1000 years. Now tell me: how long is a millennium again? Yeah it's the excact same thing, they are all millennium monsters. Yugis Millennium Puzzle is called Sennen Puzzle in the Japanese dub.
I hear the mention of other “Millenium” and “Illusionist” cards in some of those effects. Perhaps Millennium Eyes Restrict could fit in a deck based on this archetype? 🤔🤔🤔
The main issue I see here, is that every effect that searches the summon condition or provides those negates and protections costs 2k lp each. And the boss monsters attack is based on lp. So every effect you activate to get to that fusion makes the fusion worse. Needs to be paired with a deck that gains a lot of lp
Not really, the fusion gain atk equal to life points once per turn when it battles, so let's say your at 2k on your and you atk it gets 2k then if hour opponent atks you next turn it get another 2k and so on
I believe there is only 3 playabe millenium, lv 5, 6 and 8, the the 5 adds the cross, the 6 and 8 searches the 5, so you pay 4k at maximum, 4k that can't be destroyed by card effects, negate spell/trap and destroys the opponent entire field with the trap is not that bad, i'm 10x more worried with the fact that this deck has consistency issues since you are running 5 bricks for a meh end board
