the 57" Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is now arriving at customers door steps! GitDatPC has provided the awesome footage of this 57inch Super Ultrawide 8K 240hz 1000r monitor. Lets take a look at the monitor from various angles to see if we can see any blooming. No news of scanlines as of yet. Also, we have Forza Horizon 5 and Cyberpunk 2077 on this monitor with an nvidia 4090.

I was in the market but opt to get 8k TV instead. All 65 inch of glory, both tall and wide. My cheat is that I got a TV stand that is low to the floor, 20 inch in height. This way the center of the screen is at my eye level. I don't mind looking down a bit or up a bit. 😮

@@ViktorsReality I am currently in that same debate looking at 3x G8 to emulate and upgrade my current setup, or move the 57" G9 to change it outright to something different. I make a lot of use of multi monitor but 3x g8 may not fit on my desk and leave me with a under/over setup like you have here to meet my needs.

@@ViciousXUSMC I think for a cleaner look 1 57" would be best. As if you buy 3 neo g8s remember quality control. You may need to exchange 1 if its defective etc.. its alot of work I know getting 3 and needing to return them. Also desk space is in question. At $1999 its cheaper vs 3 Neo G8s.

@@ViktorsReality Right now with my military discount the Neo g8 is $550 (G7 is only $450) so its only $1650 for 3x G8 and the best price I can get on the 57" is $1800 so it will cost more for the 57" and I am still going to want another monitor over the top for my multi monitor needs. So likely that will be a 49" Neo G9 over the top of the 57" Neo G9. I think there are too many things I need multi monitor for to only have a single ultra wide, especially things like VMWare virtual machines while working on different networks as a remote IT person. I do not know if I can fit 3x G8 on my current desk, maybe I can due to the curve but I just barely fit my 27+34+27 combo I have on my desk right now. I miss surround gaming and I cant get this to work since the center is UW, so its either get a bigger UW that makes me happy or go back to 3x same monitor. Thanks for the feedback, everything is on order so I guess I can try it out and see soon enough, I'll for sure do some comverage and some testing. I specifically want to test what happens if you play surround on 3x G8 with the same reoslution as the 57", do you get the same FPS, can you get a higher refresh rate, how is immersion with the bezels? Etc.

Any heavy duty monitor arm can hold these just make sure it can handle the weight. The ergotron arm brand is heavy duty

Hey Vic great video as usual. I would really appreciate that at some point you talk about the different resolutions available. Specially the 1440 res to see if the pixel downgrade is too pronounced. I want to get this monitor but I foresee that even my 4090 will not be able to handle the native res on many games. If 1440p is acceptable that will be the sweet spot while we wait for next gen GPUs. Dlss3 frame gen helps alot. 120ishfps on a 4090. You csn also custom res and it works. 5120x2160p or 5120x1440p. Still looks good. This is the Ultimate monitor.. no burn in worry and bright Tho again like always if you but make sure and test. I have heard of a buzzing sound and a flicker issue on one side. But other then that it looks to have no major widespread issues

These still work with the 57" Neo G9. Its mostly about the weight. To be sturdy I say a 35lbs-40lbs arm power. So any arm that can hold that weight should be fine. These arms are expensive. As nice as it is, even a 4090 is not enough to support it, you'll always have to compromise in graphics fidelity.

4090 doesn't have DisplayPort 2.1 so you are only getting 120Hz with HDMI 2.1

@@danteafkCamelotUnchained depends on the game. I have a 65 inch LG 8K TV and can run a few games in that res on high at 120 fps. Diablo 4, Black Ops 4, Overwatch 2.

Any mount that supports the weight of 35-38lbs. I have mine supporting 44lbs and no issues. amzn.to/3Qtoylj check this out. Its 44lbs. This brand is pretty good and cheaper vs egrotron. Ergotron monitor mount can with stand the weight of the Neo G9. For it to be sturdy any mount is fine butvas long as it has 40lbs power. To give it a small bit more room

Sorry, but this "no blooming" just isn't true, and I using a bright racing game to prove it kind of proves nothing :) Put it next to an OLED and start the Mystify screensaver in Windows and even my grand mother would be able to see the difference even in ideal position. That said, Samsung has really improved the blooming/haloing on these monitors to a point where it might not really be a problem anymore unless you are picky and it has many other advantages over OLED like text quality, brightness etc. But blooming is still there, even in the quite small ideal position, and potential buyers should know this. And yes, I own the G9 57" and it is my main driver currently.

Compared to an OLED its easy to see a difference. But this is a non issue as samsung controls it well especially vs other displays. Also Vs others that have fewer zones and are brighter. Its all about control. I dont see any issue on blooming.. maybe at an angle yes as I did say here but its a non issue in gameplay etc. Some ppl are sensative to seeing it but its the best its ever been here on the Neo 57". Now out of gaming its a different story

It can’t, only 120Hz. You need the AMD 7900 series.

cyberpunk is no way running 118 fps on this monitor without lowering settings or using DLSS !! it struggles running 60 fps on 4k , pure rasterization no DLSS max settings, RT ultra.

He has it on Ultra Performance for DLSS and Psycho RT, he showed the settings. I have a 4090 and get 4K - 100 fps avg on Psycho RT, Quality DLSS, Frame Gen.

Almost 8K technology? I don' t think so. This is 2x 4k and 8k is 4x 4k. 7680x2160= 16,588,800 pixels 7680x4320= 33,177,600 pixels Real 8k really burns your GPU! LOL😂

There's no GPU on the market that can drive that resolution at 240Hz ... You are limited to 120Hz at best.

I think that's monitors dumb, if you're going that big you be better off getting a 55in TV hands down...!! I have the G9 OLED most of the time I don't use all the screen, unless I have two different systems running same time. I found very few games that are available for 32x9.

I think you can't talk for others how they use such a big monitor and that's dumb? I am using the G9 Neo 57 and I use the whole monitor all the time. I have also the G9 OLED over here while the OLED does have inky blacks and higher contrast, the resolution is 1440p and lack of vertical height doesn't make the immersive feeling that the G9 Neo 57 does with 2x 4K resolution and 240Hz.

I need this monitor but QD-OLED, Glossy finish and thiner bottom edge for my simrig. And if possible without stand and built in speakers. I dont need it.
