I'm documenting the same build on my channel! You're quite a bit ahead of me, I have the tail feathers done and just have the firewall jigged. This is the same way I'm planning on fitting it up. Cool to see someone else working on the same project! I already bought a set of javron wings as well. 4'X20' for the table. I'm using standard metal filler rod. I want the the chromoly to mix with the mild steel for more ductility. There are a lot of opinions of this. I choose to go this route. When you're welding the clusters your start to understand how crazy strong the joints are.
@@ramzesi4750 if you're asking about hss or mild steel, no. The structural properties of the metal are different and strength/loading is engineered to use 4160.
In the last episode you built the rudder, you had already built the vertical stab. Well that was a disappointment. why didn't you show assembling the pieces and tacking? being only tacked and then having to move the plane again, wouldn't that throw your alignment off? I mean now your having to measure twice.
