When you said "Luffy's grandparents are Garp and Whitebeard" my immediate thought was "Wait, they think Whitebeard used to be a woman too!?" 😂

I genuinely hope crocodiles secret is that he wanted to be a pirate but was super short so no one took him seriously.

The thing I love about the Crocomom theory is that it's just outrageous enough to be ever so slightly possible. Ivankov's existence alone opens up so many possibilities for crazy theories that might be true.

There are at least 4-5 scenes of Roger execution in which we see some important characters. So far we've seen more than one angle of each of them, except Crocodile that is. For him It is always the same shot from the back of the head, where you can only see the hair. That scene has been redrawn so many time for the anime that it's impossible not to be intentional.

The “crocodile used to be a woman” theory is actually a theory many consider a possibility. The crocomom stuff is mostly a joke but makes the theory more complex like that Crocoboy was born female and asked Iva to become male

Alsooo in the manga chapter when Hiyori tells Zoro about she being Momo’s sister, the chapter name is called “Her secret” and the cover page is Crocodile laying down on the grass.

I know it's been four months since this video, but I do want to point out that the Hormone Hormone fruit can do so much more than modify someone's gender. It sped up luffy's natural immunization process and made him near immune to poison. One of the most foundational aspects of hormones function in the body is during puberty where it affects things like weight, height, muscle and bone density. What if Crocodile was a Funny Valentine (pre Stand) 4ft chunky looking goober who made a deal with Ivonkov to pump him with growth hormones to make him into the intimidating figure he is now. Not only could the hormone draining powers of his revert Crocodile to small size, it would explain his Croco-boy nickname, because his real size is that of a young boy.

I kinda like the Crocomom theory, as it is one of the ones that could be possible but wouldn't really change anything and only spice to the fandom. My favorite "proof" is that Oda didn't show Crocodile's reaction to Dragon being named as Luffy's father during the war means that he already knew because he was his bio-mom. I mean if he could have figured it out way back in Alabasta. He's a high ranking Pirate whose been around for awhile and Luffy screams his full name all the time. Monkey is the same family name as Garp. He knows Ivankov is a revolutionary so it's safe to assume that he at least knows Dragon's name. He's not stupid if Garp, Dagon and Luffy all have the same family name and can see the age gaps make sense, it's not a hard leap to make.

Dragon and Crocodile doing it is an image I'd never wanna see or imagine in my life.

Another small piece of “clue” is the fact that Crocodile is so focused on male and female pairings. He went out of his way to make Baroque Works members be called Mr. and Ms. He seemed particular about gender classification which could he deeply rooted in his own gender identity crisis.

It's crazy to think about it corocoboy is the only major villian without any backstory in anime it's always hidden

So uhhh with the release of the One Piece live action the FemCroc theory might actually be true, cause Oda picked out the cast and in the first episode, as Roger’s finishing his speech, they hold a shot on this one woman before moving over to Young Shanks…. I personally really love the crocomom theory, but what if its actually Dragon that is trans and crocodile is the dad. After all, Luffy himself said that he looks nothing like his dad, but he does have some similarities to crocodile. When Ivankov changes someone’s gender their face changes pretty drastically

One Piece, over and over, basically every strawhat origin story: Bonds forged by kindness, camaraderie, and love will always be stronger than those forged at birth. Belle-Mere, Zeff, Dr. Hiriluk, Tom, Rosinante, and Whitebeard never spawned children into the world, but each of them was very much still a parent. Ace was born to the pirate king, Sabo to nobles, and Luffy to the revolutionary, but they are still brothers. The family you make yourself is much more important than the blood in your veins. Fandom: okay but like, who did Luffy come out of?

I heard one piece of "evidence" about the crocomom theory that honestly made a bit of sense and it's the fact we never get crocodile's reaction to learning Luffy is dragons son and after the fact is know crocodile starts protecting Luffy with his life and best men

Some people say that they think that Ivankov's most impressive ability is changing the sex anyone alive, but personally I think it's when he turned someone into a subscribe button for the GrandLineReview, so he could get consistent injections of One Piece content uploaded straight into his RU-vid feed. Side note, but man the FemCroc theory has a lot more than I thought to it, still not sold on the CrocoMom though...

One great thing about OP is a very well measured balance between planning and retcon. Oda had planned a lot of the story much in advance, to the point that he had some iteration of the complete crew already decided at the start, but at the same time he makes stuff up as he goes, and while that can be seen as a bad thing sometimes (and we've definitely seen stories fall apart because of that approach, things like Berserk and Kingdom Hearts come to mind), in this case it leads to the story progressing very naturally, the plot is not forced in one direction by the author, it's the author who lets the plot guide him where it needs to go. This means that many times he plants the seed for a revelation without knowing what the revelation will be, and basically he too has to speculate and piece the clues together to figure out what it is like the fans. And the result of this is sometimes the best revelation possible, because when an author commits to a specific revelation, then fans can come up with better ones leading to a disappointment, but in this case he doesn't have such a commitment. This also means that the argument "there's no way he intended this when he first introduced Crocodile" is moot. ...of course I'm just talking about Crocodile being born female, not that he's Luffy's mom.

Femcroc is definetely quite a credible theory, and as you said, ironically, one of the most believable ones around, but the leap from it to crocomom is one of the most hilarious things any fanbase probably ever put out... The most credible part of the Crocomom theory is how protective Crocodile becomes at the Summit war after Luffy's full name is revealed. Like... why does he go to such lengths to help him, other than just finding out that he's his son.

There's another important discussion we're all forgetting, which is that Buggy could fight 1 on 1 with Kizaru because you still can't chop him even at the speed of light.

Mum Croc is a stretch beyond reach. Lady Croc is possible but I feel like it's too obvious, wouldn't put it past Oda to chuck in red herrings to mess with fans. I prefer the theory of Croc being Whitebeard's son, kept secret like Ace and Luffy were with their fathers because being the offspring of such important figures would guarantee you'd be hunted endlessly. Would explain why he had such longterm beef with WB and why he might have challenged him early on (hard not to get angry with your father when he surrounds himself with his 'sons' and you don't get such recognition and/or he was left behind in Sphinx while WB was off doing piracy and it made him bitter over perceived abandonment), might have even refused him from joining his crew when he started out too. Croc showed no interest in leaving prison until he heard WB was taking on the Marines, went straight for him when they arrived and got very pissed at him when he got stabbed - it's generally believed that WB was the one who cut off his hand and gave him his scar, but is that reason enough to react like this 20 years after? If he should have a massive grudge it should be against Luffy who cost him everything, but he's pretty over that. WB was acting rather reserved and when Croc tried to attack him he just said 'you never learn, do you?', kind of implies they've met more than once. On the Ivankov matter, his devil fruit does more than genderswap people, he can 'freely alter any of the recipients physical aspects, including: gender, growth, skin pigment, stamina, emotions, and many other things' - Croc could have asked him to prevent him from growing as big as WB or prevent him from growing some very telling white facial hair or something along those lines (they also look rather alike but then it is anime/manga and that's unavoidable). Wouldn't want anyone to know you tried to fight your dad and he kicked your ass so bad he crippled and maimed you, both embarrassing and a sore point. Would also explain why he was trying to prove himself all this time, taking over a country, looking for Pluton When we see Croc a few weeks after the war Daz says that Luffy is wounded/scarred and they don't heal that easily, Croc asks if he's implying something, then claims he's healed and is going to 'head back to the sweet old New World' - there's room for implication that Daz is implying emotional wounds, Luffy losing Ace and Crocodile losing WB with their relationship unresolved and that Crocodile may originate from the New World and Sphinx is located there. I feel there's a lot more evidence for this than Lady Croc and even if Lady Croc was the secret of his past it... doesn't really mean or do anything story wise? Croc being Whitebeard's son however has a lot more weight and I'd love to see him come back, maybe take out Weevil for being a pretender and coasting off of WB's legacy. Anyway, food for thought.

Most likely it’s true that Oda made Shichibukai based on The Seven Heroes from the Romancing Saga 2. And here’s 1 interesting point in the game. After defeating all Seven Heroes individually, in the end, All Seven Heroes will fuse together as Final Boss and will fight the protags. Take note. It’s highly possible all Shichibukai will join together in the near end of One Piece. And let me tell you Romancing Saga 2 is actually a very epic game. The music are so extraordinary and amazing. You guys must listen to the battle themes it’s so epic. It’s music alone already made the game so memorable. No wonder Oda played it during his youth and it sticks to his mind and he incorporated references from that game into his manga.

I'm a trans guy and I used "sir" for many, many years as part of my usernames/nicknames and the like, since it was gender-affirming. If Crocodile is trans, it 100% makes sense for him to do the same. I remember feeling an affinity with him when I was younger, without having an explanation for it; perhaps this is why.
